it has had a tensioner a while back...similar noise though i wondered/hoped it was the alt beacuse it does it when i load the elec system

btw....id like to upgrade to 90A if its worn, any one know a cheap source for a bosch unit

no i havent...the noise is intermitant, so im not sure if it will show by hand i will try though :)

my g60 has stated to make a dodgy bearing noise that seems to come from the alt/charger area and is an random short grrrr while the idles if i put a load on the alt, i.e put all the lights on at once the noise appears straight away and goes when i turn off the lights the long screwdriver stethescope doesnt seem to pin point it...does those symtoms sond like a dud alt bearing?

no probs...thought id mention it be sure to someone thats reccomended, theres alot of idiots around, maybe ask at merc/bmw dealers or anywhere that sells mint cars

ive imported a few bits from usa...you stand the best chance of getting it tax free if sent via their regular post office....fed ex/ups will have you over for sure you can have it marked as a gift and or low value, but if they open it (prob wont) and it looks like its worth $$$$$$$ then they may look into it more out of say...20 packages ive had one that got taxed/duty and that was fed ex, no probs with us post office

kev...does more more power always mean better sound??? i.e would 2ohms sound better than 8ohms i got it 2nd hand for a fair price...should i ebay it and get something smaller?

i have a audioscape sub box with a focal sub..rated at 300watts / 600 max ive just picked up genesis profile sub amp turns out its a bit more powerfull than it looked(its only small) will i be okay if i use it with the dains set low [:s] or will i kill the sub

vw dealers or specialist should do it, also worth trying any places that specialise in alloys

its more the price of having it welded and painted properly you wana worry about

the customer service and back up are MUCH better with sns....jabba dont care once theyve took your money

i had weitec...it was pretty good to the other brands ive had/tried

mk2 golfs dont have the cable change like corrados you will need to rebuild the linkages and fit a new ball n cup under the gear stick its all fairly cheap to do, but dirty and time consuming...make SURE you do all the bushes it should make it MUCH nicer...a change to redline mtl oil will make a differance

did they do the cam belt tensioner when the belt was done?? you can blast the cam belt tensioner with a little wd40 when its squealing..it should sut up or change in noise for a few mins i believe the poly v belt idlers are exp...why dont you unbolt them and spin them up , you will hear if theyre rough..you can also prise out the dust seal and wipe some more grease into them if theyre not already shot to bits non genuine poly v belts can also be noisey good idea on the crank bolt...worth £2 for peace of mind

the sump and gasket are same on alot of 4cly vw....cant answer the guys question tho
