16vg60 id planned to use poly bushes for ease of fitting and the fact that they last well....if i was to get vag bushes whats the chances of me fitting them at home with special tools?? should i expect the pivot bolt to be mucho tight...i can emagine yanking it off the axle stands
-
i was reading up on changing my rear axle bushes...i read that you need to set up the axle to 12% or something with a special vag tool....then lever the bush over to one side when tightening it i planed to undo the pivot bolt....does all that still apply???

sorry no pic, the best intake is the original airbox with a k&n filter
-
my old man welded mine with an arc welder...i think you need rods for cast metal seems to have worked one mine
-
mk4 calipers will not need new pads....just source 2nd hand calipers and £25 hoses from c&r
-
i replaced the springs with weitec beacause i had em laying around, its much better imo with these, maybe not 100% perfect but i can put up with it now
-
it FITS , if its knocking then its not fitted right...ive had my g60 for 5 years and had 2 x16v systems on there any mk2 golf exhaust will knock on the rear beam if its not fitted very well
-
for the record..i had the vogland springs on my mk2 golf, i couldnt stand it they were horrible on average roads
-
you can use the golf mk2 manual , if you need to do the headgasket that eases the manifold job basicly the only tricky bit will be undoing the manifold to downpipe join, lots of penetrating oil will help there, then once you have the head off you can tackle the manifold once its on a workbench before you start id suggest you buy some spare manifold studs and new nuts the actual headgaset job isnt too hard, you can leave the cams in...an average diy er shold breeze it over a weekend, or wait for easter long weekend :)

yes any 16v will bolt on..on my orig g60 system i had one too many brackets, but yeah it all fits straight on with no mods or trouble ive ran a 16v vag system and now have a ss jetex
-
i did mine, removed the wedge, replaced it with a 16v butterfy and i ported it as far as i dared didnt make a massive differance...maybe a bit better around 5k?? couldnt have hurt it though
-
and until just recently sns were all tuned for use with a 3.5 fpr...most other chips are for 3bar fpr
-
i run the standard size belt, original tensioner and have no slippage issues that i know off....hits 15-16psi so it aint slipping alot
-
i found with mine that non vag belts are noisey...possibly worth trying a proper vag belt
-
yeah i used the dx bolt and washer, with a little thread lock i worried for ages about undoing the old one but it came undone about as easy as a tight wheel nut, no need to jam the flywheel etc
-
guys...i already have the 3.5 fpr, i KNOW new sns chips run on a 3bar, i wouldnd mind trying the new chip but i no longer have a std fpr
