low battery voltage will cause limp mode which makes them run rich
-
dunk em in solvent /dgreaser and blast with a airhose does the trick
-
how does it get mapped? replace the ecu chip with a differant one fault finding is the old fasioned way im affraid blue temp sender is right on the front of the cly head area in the coolant hose , hard to miss really, could also clean up the earths and check the battery voltage is decent when running
-
they dont work on vag.com..car is too old tech i dont think the car uses the o2 sensor on start up , but the wires run from down near the rear engine mount up to the ecu , best use a multimeter on the continuity setting to check between the sensor and ecu plug id maybe consider a new vag blue temp sender ..that can cause starting troubles and make sure its vag not some ebay tat

yep 65 without a/c , 90 with they both fit and are interchangeable
-
or fit a loom and uprated bulbs ... loom is one of the best mods you can make to any older vw
-
could be anything really plugs /leads/dizzy cap would be a good place to look ....been through any floods latley?
-
just the square plate at the front and one nut , that should be tight enough to stop it sliding some batterys have provision for a clip on peice along the bottom ridge , vw's needs that bit for the clamp to grip on ...if you feel bodgey a couple of inches of rubber hose or a pencil jammed in there will work
-
i went from a 2.5" jetex on my g60 back to a vag system , no power loss that i can tell at all , might be my thinking but i feel theres more mid range on it lovely and quiet and no booming at motorway speeds , well worth it to me to sound like a halfords chav and theyre mostly stainless anyway , should last many years

might be a tamper proof cap on that box , pop it out and theres a screw head under it
-
you ajust the co with the co pot ...its a small matchbox size black box in the boost tube

idealy you want splash /water proof and 4 relays so that if something fails you wont be left with no lights the ebay jobby will work but its a budget version , if you decide on those stick em in a latex glove to try to keep em dry
-
another kr should be a direct swap theres always the choice to go to to a 9a or abf for a similar amount of work vw dealer will sell you the bolts
-
dont pay £45 ...£10-15 is the right price
-
its 2 screws to fit a new brush pack....a second hand one most likley needs the brushes doing anyway nearly always restores em to full charging
-
you can unplug the o2 sensor while running to see if that cures anything multimeter the blue sensor and compare the readings to the manual , if it was a ebay one maybe consider a genuine vw one
-
sns are popular , alot of folk use the red 30lb ford mustang injectors, you dont really need uprated inj for your spec im using a 40euro ebay.de chip ...happy with it
-
id not upset the 3x ball joint bolts , seperate it at the pinch bolt and it wont effect the camber then if you do decided to move the 3 bolts , mark it carefully to ensure it goes back exactly right

for those that have headlight looms/relays do you run them bare in the engine bay , or have you made any attempt to waterproof them if you run yours bare..please say how long its been like it and if the car gets used year round
