-
probably be best off selling that filter and getting a standard airbox with the paper filter , the biggest worry on a g60 is clean air , if its sucking dirty air then the charger will be full of grinding paste
-
cat bypass should effect the mot as its old enough to not need it golfs over here never had cats , but i recon theyd be the same fitment , id lean under and check the approx length and flange style and compare to what you are buying
-
think ported standard ones are the way to go , stainless ones are mostly for lhd cars and melt the steering boot
-

Help wanted to find a part volkswagon dont make anymore!
steveo29 replied to Wainman435's topic in Suppliers Forum
theyre pretty random , classic parts has a few random stickers and odds n ends for old golfs etc , but dont seem intrested in keeping parts that are needed to keep the car on the road id try speedy cables -
only came on g60 engines..so golfs/rado/rallye its the same internaly as many other bosch units , any repair place should be able to refurb it , or new brush packs usualy restore full power
-
yeah as said you really need to know what it is you have , theres green /grey/red injectors commonly in use , then the fpr issue and many differant pully sizes will run bad possibly causing damage if you use the wrong combo
-
only air con cars came with 90a , std is 65 amp
-
yeah sound like the silencer box , be a good time to get rid and fit a rsr or similar
-
pull the o2 sensor plug...if the engine runs normaly then yes thats the problem with the manifold leak otherwise , check you havent pinched any vac hoses and that the ecu one is on the correct nip
-
thrott switches take 5 mins to check with a multimeter

where can i buy a quality charger small belt?
steveo29 replied to steveo29's topic in Suppliers Forum
no vw has never sold them , and last i heard g werks wont sell parts only in house refurbs , they never respond to any emails either -
i want to swap the charger belt on the g60..the small timing belt one any ideas who sells quality ones at decent prices
-
doesnt look that awefull its an old car afterall , remember alot you see on forums have been tinkered with alot having had those kind off bits painted or replaced earlier in thier life , or the cars have been babied and not used in the winter my golfs that get used aint much differant , ive repainted all the running gear , those disc covers do tend to get scabby anyway you wana worry about the bits that dont bolt on , like the sills /floor etc , thats 10x more expense to make right
-
no car uses water ...its leaking out or burning it
-
easy to swap BUT chances are yours is seized like a mofo , so expect some swearing
-
no similar on early rados , but the tailpipe is wrong
-
most of the ones ive seen are black inside yeah clean it up but id stay away from blasting unless you can clean it 100% as a stray bit of grit will cause more agro any machine shop should be able to dunk it in something nasty and clean it up nice for cheap
-
yeah looks normal suprised non of you have had a 8v rocker cover off before
