  1. Today I got this. Only a cheap ebay job, cost £18 delivered and is of fairly good quality considering price. Came with some brackets I didn't need and also had some mounting points that needed cutting off with a dremel. In order for it to sit where I wanted it the rear ash tray, which was not used anyway, was sealed shut with a couple of small blobs of PU flex. A bit more PU was used on the underside and a couple of self tappers screwed through the centre console. The tunnel cover already had a small piece of plastic missing where it meets the ash tray, so I wasn't bothered about putting a couple of holes through it. Will also be possible to remove it by peeling off all the adhesive should I so wish. Having seen how high the passat/mk4 golf arm rest sits and how much extra work was involved in getting it to fit nicely I am glad I went with this option.
  2. Still silky smooth. Going to be a shame to remove it but I will have to find another box for the diff to go back into before dropping it off with my mechanic to swap over.
  3. Mostly love though, it has over 1000 likes. Never going to be liked by everyone. Had to reply to the idiot who drives a Fiat Coupe and had the cheek to call my car ****,lol.
  4. I always cover the threads in multi purpose/cv joint grease then wrap in gaffer tape. Far cheaper.
  5. No, how did that come about? Guessing the pic is from when you owned it?
  6. Run mine at the height set when owned by Coullstar. Perfect blend of looks and just being able to clear speed bumps.
  7. With proper Corrado Recaros costing an insane amount of money I just came across this in a bid to find a cheaper method of getting them without ruining the driving position by fitting mk2 ones. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-MK2-MK3-Seat-Base-Frame-Recaro-Subframe-Conversion-SERVICE-OEM-/141194418753?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20dfd7da41 Seems a good price. Buy some crapper cloth seats for the bases and good condition mk3 colour concept recaros for about £250, meaning it should only cost about £500 all in as opposed to £1200.
  8. It wasn't straight after all.:bonk: Bit of a pain as it needs fully reassembling before its straightness can be checked which is time consuming. For now I have just moved it a spline then will see if its straight when I take it out later. Got the new horn fitted though.
  9. That is how they are on these cars. I felt the same wen I bought my first VR. Self adjusting as well so you just have to get used to it.
  10. Cheers Ollie, pretty sure it went on straight, although it is off centre in the pic. With deciding not to bother with a snap off boss I ordered a new Carbon horn press to replace the cracked one, so even if it is off slightly I can adjust when fitting.
  11. Better safe than sorry, and I would be very sorry if the engine went bang:lol: Never got the water gauge that I had lying around working so will be removing that one at some point.
  12. Cheers Jay. Couple of little updates. Bought a Momo wheel from OllieVR6 which arrived today. Glovebox bulb is blown so ordered som new Festoon LED bulbs. Today the courtesy bulb arrived. How it looks with the standard passenger bulb.
  13. Bought a steering wheel from OllieVR6 and it arrived promptly when he said it would and in the good condition it was described as.
  14. Having fitted the wheel today I had a play about with its distance from the column and I don't think I would actually like it any closer so think I will leave it as is. The car already has an alarm and imob and I live in a nice area with a gravel drive, so would hear anyone trying to steal it as i am a light sleeper. Plus its kept under a cover. If I did get one it would have to be a 25mm version.
  15. Seen both of those and imagine they are of questionable quality at that price. Was more looking for peoples opinions on how they affect the driving position.
  16. That one is even bigger than the driftworks one, is more expensive and has no reviews though clumpy :lol:
  17. Cheers for the pics but I will pass, wasn't expecting the 2 huge bolts either side.
  18. Yeah pics would be good, what make is it?
  19. Just bought a Momo wheel from the classifieds and am thinking of getting a snap off boss for added security. Who runs one and does it adversely affect the driving position by pushing the wheel out too far? Thinking of getting a 60mm driftworks one as they have very good reviews unlike the cheap ebay ones and are not too badly priced at £70. http://www.driftworks.com/driftworks-60mm-race-quick-release-steering-spacer.html
  20. Good to meet you too Rog. Will have to do it again for the summer meet and hopefully a few other Corrado forum members can make it. Cheers, I think it's a nice little touch as 99.9% of people will have no idea what it means, only a few select car nuts will twig.
  21. Didn't spend much time by my car tbh, should have left it open for a bit thinking about it. Thought only me and Rog from on here made it, what were you in? Heres one someone else got.
  22. And funnily enough my car is currently running the gearbox that used to be in Rogers car that I bought from Cazza.
  23. Got a few pics of mine and Rog's together today at a local meet. Hoping some of the guys who are really good with a camera got some pics of mine, despite not parking it particularly well for photos.
