Wahey!! After 3.5 long weeks of bloody hard work (and god knows how much money on new parts) I finally dragged her out of the garage and took it up the road. The flywheel is going to take some getting used to , the engine speed rises and falls REALLY quickly, so it takes some getting going to pull away without stalling it. Gear linkage needs adjusting though, it's tough to get 1st and 2nd (so I was probably pulling away in 3rd!). revs drop a bit between gears too unless you're quick, so I'll have to get used to that too. I can definitely feel the loss of torque now the schrich vgi isn't on (off for polishing), but once I found the right gear and wound it up it nearly snapped my head off! wel impressed with how it picks up. It's a totally different car now though, so it'll take me a week or so to get a feel for it all again and learn it's limits and how to drive it again. Giving it a thorough check over in the daylight in the morning to make sure nothing else falls off (the PS pulley came off!! I hadn't tightened the bolts up becasue I'd just painted the pulley when I'd fitted it) So all being well, it'll be fine for Inters. The polished speedline wheels look the absolute dogs bollocks too, not bad for £100 with tyres! I'm over the moon!   :D :D :D 8) 8)

I need a cat certificate for mine, I'm fitting it myself. can somene scan theirs in?
-
My mate said you can get a special switch. it's a coil of wire that goes around the gear gate, and yo put a magnet on the shaft. so if it's not in neutral it breaks the circuit. well, something along those lines anyway.
-
cool, I have 2 I need removing too.
-
you're right, I'll just drill a hole in it for the rubber bung thingy and that'll be it, job sorted.
-
dear oh dear..........it's horrendous.
-
I don't think so. I can't see any evidence at all of any damage or overspray. it's totally straight and the panel gaps are all 100% perfect. Maybe it's another one of those quirky 8v things..... :?:
-
no, it's the panel that come with it (8v) So why does it have the slots of there's no hole???? how stupid..... It still has the slots in it for the early grille....
-
I want to see the tippex!
-
It's a brand new clutch and flywheel. it's never been used.
-
The pedal comes back up, but just before it comes right to the top it sticks for a split second then pops up onto the stop. huh? smae master and slave cylinder that's always been in thecar, and it's all been bled properly.
-
that's nothing, I'd see those sort of temps on a daily basis.
-
No ide, never read it, I was getting it mixed up with Auto Express!
-
Hmm, mine a 1994, so it SHOULD be the same...but it ain't...
-
What year car is that pic off?
-
do't forget to add a safety circuit so it'll only work if the handbrake is on and the car is in neutral. In fact, just buy a ready made system, much easier! I've got one going on mine soon. again, a clifford one.
-
lift the front of it back and up? i.e. grab h :-P old of it between your legs?
-
Cheers, that's the exact pic I was after. well, there's the problem, my front panel doesn't look like that. mine has 2 slots, where yours has one, but they are were the bolt hole is on yours!

I used to have the early corrado seats in my mk2, I and I could get them out easy, and I know where all the clips are and how they are held in. But can I f*ck get the one out of my corrado. It's the late one, without the armrest in the centre. Any tips? MOD EDIT - Don't swear in the post title please.

be careful. doing it that way and the alarm won't know when to stop cranking. most of these accessory outputs will run for a predetermined time. so if it's too short, it won't start. if it's too long, it'll grind the starter.
-
If it's in Autocar, it will be bullsh1t. The just publish ever rumour they hear. so if it just happens to come true they can claim they were the first to mention it. a sh1t magazine, read by old pricks who know f*ck all about cars.

I need apic of the left hand (drivers side) upper rad bracket. I bought new ones from VAG WTF??? :?:
-
I should hope it's a proper tuned length manifold, which should give similar torque gains to the schrick VGI. but it's probably just been done for show...
-

about £25 from GPC. actually, I think I gave the one I had away, because I've cut the upper bulkeahd panel off on my mk2 so I didn't need it. bugger.
