I think it's the tyres those wheels are only on there until I fit the 5 stud hubs. I have BF Goodrich profiler G's on the front, but a yoko a510 on the OS rear, and a powy good year thing on the NS rear. it's a minging tyre, utter sh1te in the wet. this is the third time I've had it step out on a wet round about, and one on a bend, always right hand corners on the wet. I'm going to swap the rear wheels over. they're coming off at easter anyway, then the polished speedlines are going on, with brand new michelin pilots all round. I'll just have to go steady in the wet until then...it's like driving on ice some days... :roll:

Flared arches here we come! Not ideal timing like, but at least all the snow ans ice and salt has gone off the roads, so I can look forward to a summer of nice fresh paint. I'm going to start getting the bus to work once it's done, I'm not risking it getting bumped again. I alreayd has a chosen spot I park in every day, which I can park right over to once side and leave plety of room, but this c*nt in a civic type R park next to me all the time and takes up all the space for himself. luckily, he cares about his car too and nevr dints mine (I know, I check every single day, any dints, and I start kicking their panels in.) I had great fun in my ratty mk2, I could wedge that in the tightest spaces possible and just climb out of the boot! in fact, I deliberatley go looking for badly parked cars and squeezae in right next to them so they couldn't open their doors...that'll teach em... :lol:

I wouldn't dream of running a turbo without an intercooler or charge cooler. this is what puts me off the vortech supercharger setups. blowing hot air into your engine is not a good idea, and will lead to detonation. can't you buy the turbo kit and then fit an intercooler as well? I personally would make up my own kit from ATP http://www.8vturbo.com and choose all the componens individually to suit my own needs. I've already done it on a friends G60, it worked out at about £1500 all in, and it's the maddest sounding golf I've ever heard. runs 14.4 1/4's too, and it's still not even setup right yet.

Then, she decides she's left something on the back seat. "OH NO" I think and start moving faster. Unlock my door, preparing to get in and drive off before she lifts the seat forward, but I'm too late, she hits her fat ar5e on her door climbing out of the car and it whacks right into my rear quarter, bang on the swage line.... Cue red mist..... :evil: I get out, her husband and her are walking away. me "EXCUSE ME!" they turn round. "err, you're wife just whacked my car with your door and done this" points.. man says "it'll polish out that.." Thing is, what do I do if he won't pay up? they said if it's too much it'll have to go through the insurance, but you're not insured on private property are you? I popped in the bodyshop on the way home, just been quoted £150 to sort it......but I can't get it done until Easter....right when all the shows start...and right when I want to take the car off the road to do the VR6 conversion... Not sure if it's my cheap temporary tyres or not, but I just had a MAJOR rear end step out on a wet round about, followed by a full on opposite lock slide right across both lanes and into a petrol station forecourt that I had no intention or entering!, all at about 30mph!!WTF??

I'm considering one for mine as I hate the plate that's on it now (M940 MTH it looks like it says MOTH! or MOUTH, don't like it). Can't tell you what it is incase you steal it, but it's a good one, and only £366 on the car.

early morning, it was -4 too! I love that wide arched mk1 rocco, it's mint. I nearly cried when I saw it pranged outside utterly a year ago. :( glad to see it about again.

yeah but eveyone knows that no one has EVER hit theor top speed in their car, because every f*cking time someone brings up the question the answer is alwys "XXXmph....and still pulling". lying b*stards, just admit you were going flat out and it'd only do 130mph. if you're running 18"s that's probably the problem. you've altered the gearing and now you can't get into the power band in top gear. trying revving it further in 4th first and see if that pulls you through it.

that's right. I had 146 (indicated) in my golf, but when I got pulled the copper said I was only doing 132.35mph. sickener eh.

If you did £12K of damage to a corrado you'd be dead anyway..... Would you let the insurance company take you car away to a bodyshop of THEIR choice? I f*cking wouldn't that's for sure. I'd repair it myself, I wouldn't let anyone get their hands on it, no matter how badly damaged it is. There'lll always be something salvageable off the car, you can't break EVERYTHING at once. The way I look at it, if I crash it, it's my own stupid fault and I'll have to pay for it. I do everything possible to make sure it can't be stolen (best alarm I can get plus a tracker), and I know all my papers are up to date and legel. Insurance is a waste of money, I only have it because you legally have to. I've claimed once, in my entire driving career, for a £900 lamp post, and I must have paid for it 4 times over in inflated premiums ever since. I'd never claim again unless my life depended on it. if anyone crashes into me and has no insurance I'll simply kill them on the spot.

I could only ever get 130mph (on the clock) out of my 2.8. yet the 2.9 could take it up to an indicated 148mph.

insure it TPFT, I always do, fully comp is a waste of money, and they ask too many questions.

That certinaly is a good guide! weird that it only has a single upper chain though, and the amount oil staining in that engine is disgusting, mine looks brand new compared to that.
