  1. reach through the grille and pop the bonnet. then charge the battery up
  2. hmm, pulled arches...never thought about that one! I'm so glad I had "normal" and not stretched tyres on ,otherwise I'd have wrecked a wheel. the trye took most of it I reckon, it's knocked my tracking out.
  3. b4stard weather. 2" of snow with ice underneath + ABS + tequila induced Hangover = brick wall 1 corrado 0  f*ck...... I was lucky though, it was very low speed, and despite heading directly for the gate post for what seemed like an eternity, I decided to let go of the poxy juddery brake pedal (I hate ABS, I'm going to turn it off) and the car darted to the right, scuffing the side of the bumper and taking the paint off the front outermost edge of the front wheelarch (which had been scraped before and touched in before I bought the car so it needed paint anyway  ). phew! lucky escape there! :?
  4. I bought an M plate dark burgundy pearl corrado off a fella who'd just bought a scooby, what a coincidence! mine's not a VR6 though...yet.
  5. http://www.8vturbo.com all you'll ever need to turbo you VW. oh, and exchange rates are in our favour too....
  6. also seems strange how that's the ONLY photo anyone has ever seen of it.......
  7. My mate got his Garret T3 or an old SAAB.
  8. could be the MAF, coil pack or the blue temperature sender. hard to tell without seeing the car and getting in on a diagnostics machine/1552/ fault code reader.
  9. my '94 8v has the "flat" rear seat.
  10. I'm really missing my VR6

    vr6 struts

don't forget to use the VR6 springs, the 16v ones won't be the correct poundage
  12. my mate has a mint polished set for sale if you're intersted?
  13. for the water leak. buy a new "crack pipe" the rigid pipe from the water pump to the sensor housing a new coolant sensor housing a new thermostat housing and thermostat. and then join in with the samco hose group buy in club GTI! take the front end of the car off to access the pipe.
  14. That would make sense. give it a 3.6 to make up for only having a 2.8. What a bummer, looks like I'll have to confess all to my mate and give him his money back! oops!
  15. the handbrake wire is easy to find, it's under the driver seat, behind the support going across the floorpan for the the front seat rail support.
  16. not that old chestnut again. it's widely regarded as a photoshop.....
  17. I've had it happen, bent 3 valves, not good.....
  18. chains/tensioner are f*cked, don't run the engine again until it's sorted.
  19. so where is this info from? I want more proof of this. I've always heard that the corrado VR box is a 3.6, for years. it's only Vince who's told me it's a 3.3, and that's only going off a cutting from a magazine article, I know because he showed me it on sunday, and that;s why my head's been in bits all week, mind you, if ETKA says CHN is 3.3 then I guess that's the official line....balls still, my 3.94 is f*cking mint, I love it to bits, no wonder my old mk2 VR was so quick!! :D
  20. so it's a 3.3 then. that's a load of sh1t! I've been going on about the benefits of corrado vr6 gearboxes for years, I've even sold 2, on an exchange basis to a very good freind of mine. if it's a 3.3 I'll have to give him his money back. nightmare! whereabouts on the corrado club site did you find the 3.6 info?
  21. looking at the gearbox from the top as you stand in front of the car. find the join betwen the bellhousing and the gearbox casing. on the top face of the gearbox, near the front of the car immediately to the right of this join (to the left of the shifter tower) is a flat machined area, with a 3 digit code stamped on it and some numbers. the 3 letter digits is the gearbox code. can all other corrado VR6 owners have a look too please?
  22. it is. my 2.9 engine came with one. and I got antother one that was in a corrado too. so what gearbox code should the corrado vr6 have?
