  1. fit the vr6 ones. ditto with the coolant temp sensor. get the yellow one off a vr6 and wire up the 2 wires to it to run the vr6 gauge.
  2. I saw the TEIN stuff at Autopsort. it just looked too expensive to even bother asking. Just been flicking through the KW catalgue, they do VR6 syncro fitment after all :-) £1019 for variant 3's!!!!
  3. http://forum.vwsport.com/pics/showgallery.php?cat=505 have a scroll through, check out that rollcage!!
  4. considered it myself....then changed my mind. It then wouldn't be a hobby anymore.
  5. no thanks! (and I can hardly do that when the car is in bits!)
  6. I have no doubts whatsoever that they are amazing value offr money, but I want mine as a track car, so I have to get the suspension right, and I can't seea £500 kit being quite up to it.
  7. that's a 3.3:1 1st, 1.945 2nd blah blah, 3.68:1 Final Drive.
  8. CDA 3.300 1.945 1.308 1.029 0.837 3.68 Golf III 2.0 16V, Ibiza 2.0 16V I'm good me ;-)
  9. i thnk FKs are cheap coz they ahvent spent s**t lods in testing and development... jus stuc together somgood bits that actually work really well... whereas someone like Koni has spent a lot of time and capital into research and development.. but i could be totally wrong been out in a car with AVO's and i thought there were flipping awfull hmm, good point, never looked at it that way!!! but surely, if they were as good as koni's, then why would koni supply them with their dampers as it'd only mean they are losing out on more profit which they could make from selling their own branded gear? actually, when you look at FK as a brand, they just seem to be marketing other people's kit anyway. I'd like to compare some FK's directly with some Koni's and see just what difference there is. all I can see at the moment is that they don't have the specially wound springs that koni's have (the koni;s get woder int he middle so the don't get coil bound as easily as a "straigth" spring would)
  10. I thought it was a bit of a cheap attempt at ripping off Full Metal Jacket, and fell WAY short of the mark. Still, watchable, but by no means a classic.
  11. I wind mine back down whenever it'll let me! I hate the blasted thing. does it affect the stability much if it's down all the time?
  12. ......When the spoiler is up...... I hate that stupid little thing, and I truly despite seeing corrado's parked up with it intentionally left "erect".
  13. well, that was when I had my mk2. I've not been there in the C....well, or any car that I've owened since the mk2 in fact! even my mk4 cathces on the speedhump at work (only the mudflaps though, and if I get the speed spot on it clears) daily drivers need to be kept a sensible height. I've lived with a slammed car.it's a pain in the arse having to plan your route so you can make sure you don't get stuck anywhere.
  14. yeah, burned out, in the Kuwati desert......as if!! not a bad film as it happens, I just thought that bit was a tad unrealistic (trust me to notice!)
  15. they've never been a mainstream car, and never will be. Price guides will always bee a mile off a collectable or specialist car, dealers just don't see these sort of cars in the same way that enthusiasts do.
  16. nice colour, cheeky 'plate, great wheels! the body kit does nothing for me at all though I'm afraid. I'm guessing it's an oettinger one?
  17. one of the motorway services, but I can't remember which one! possibly oxford, has a BITCH of a speedhump on the way in. I always remember which one it is and I have to make a dodgy manouvre to head across to the exit lane intead and avoid the place altogether.
  18. depends what's wrong with it. CV joints aren't much, but it's a chore to replace them so failry labour intensive.
  19. is that just paint!?!?! if it is, WOW! impressive stuff.
  20. a car with a windscreen that's wider at the top than the bottom??!?! what is it? an aircraft control tower?
  21. nothing!! Well, I have a borrowed set of AVO's on at the moment, which I despise. I did have some VR6 syncro H%R's, but they stared leaking (not coilovers either). I'm currently on the lookout for suspension. FK's look good, but for some reason i can't get my head around the price. they are cheap for a reason, I just want to know where the money is being saved. Koni won't make me anything that fits. LEDA want £1500!! and KW want E1600 but they will make them to my spec, whatever I want, which may come in handy seeing as I want rose joints on the bottom of the rear shocks and I want an anti roll bar collar on the front lower spring plate as I'm fitting R32 wishbones and ARB (seeing as no one make ARB's for a vr6 syncro!) bloody hybrid cars, who's daft idea was that!
  22. it's a drag car. if it's the one I think it is it runs 10's. one of, if not THE quickest N/A watercooled FWD VW in the world.
  23. yes, but you need a very slimline tailpipe to do it, and you'll probably burn off the underseal on the sill
  24. supersports are gash. only good if you want to slam it until it hits the floor. but then it'll ride as if it has no suspension at all. cheap crap I've not been in or driven a car with FK;s but they LOOK very well made indeed, amazing value.
  25. when you knock the CV joints off you're left with just a steel bar, the shaft itself, which you can then blast and powdercoat. I didn't have access to this equipment at the time so I just wire wheeled the rust off and spray painted them.
