  1. the system is too old for vag-com to operate the valves, it just says "not available"
  2. fluid is definitely dot 4 I'm still thinking it's the ABS with air in it, but I feel the M/C may have died after all the fartng about as it's just totally dead now, zero pedal feel, just hits the carpet (well...it would if I had any carpets in..)
  3. yep, tried it with ign on, and off, and even with engine running.
  4. This is doing my head in now.... was a 2.0 8v. I've kept the ABS, but now have 288's on the front and a wilwood brake bias valve in each rear brake line. all the calipers are as I had on the car previously, as is the servo and M/C(which has been out when I changed the wiring loom). I Just CANNOT get a decent pedal. as soon as I turn the engine on the pedal almost hits the floor. I've bled the calipers 4 times, and the M/C. no bleed nipples on the ABS unit. I've even tried turning on the ign and engine as I press the pedal, to make the ABS pump click (to relaease any trapped air from the valves) but I still get no air coming out of the calipers, just pure fluid. Ive tried it with an eezi-bleed and by pumping the pedal (but not all the way to the floor as I know that can damage the master cylinder). An hour ago I have not a bad pedal feel. so Icleared all the tools up, went to take it out for a test drive, and nothing, pedal just hits the floor with next to no resistance. huh? it was fine a minute of 2 earlier. WTF!?!? am I doing something wrong? I've noticed the white plasic bit on the servo has some scuffs on it, so I'm not sure if it's sealing properly (probably knacked it trying to wrestle the thing through the bulkhead, nightmare job). It does make an "air" noise as I press the pedal. I'm just totally at the end of my tether, and out of ideas as to what is wrong with my brakes and why they won't work at all now. I can get my missus to pres son the brakes and I can still push the car with one hand....they are dead. Help!!!
  5. Lovely wheels. stick with 215/40's and get the arches pulled, it'll look mint.
  6. so why spend all that money on big shiny 4 pots?!?!?
  7. Fixed my alarm (bloody tilt sensor) Zymol "clay bar"ed it all, to get all the muck off it left over from it being int he garage for 6 months, getting caked in dust and grinding mess. it's smoother now, but still needs a proper full day valet job. bleeding the brakes again tomorrow.
  8. Lump of wood to wedge betwwent he block and the crank, air gun, or huge breaker bar.
  9. Ive just fited a borrowed set of coilovers on mine, currently have it sat so the top of the wheel (16") is about 2 fingers off the wheel arch. cer is bang on the same as the fronts, 1.5 degrees. nothing too outrageous there. kev, my mates got a complete 24v setup going for a grand, mail me.....
  10. Well, sorry to let you all down, but it never made itto croft or the pod....gutted. I couldn't get any time off work on Friday, and by the time I dragged the car out of the garage and had it in a state to test drive it was 8pm. I took it around the block, twice.....it was utter sh1te.....no brakes at all, steering was awful (those new tyres probably, awful until bedded in), brakes discs grinding away (surface rust on the rears as I had to revert back to stock brakes at the last minute), huge flat spot at 4000rpm ish, exhaust knocking on the prop when I booted it. so, I gave up and just put it away and went in the house to sulk. So, gutted that I missed the 2 shows, but still glad that I set the croft deadline, as it really made me crack on with the car, just need to sort out these little niggles now. It did go well, felt like the fornt end was lifting about a foot in the air when I planted it!!! and the sound is just immense. My camera is away for repairs....mpegs coming soon once it's sorted. doubt I'll have it done for inters now, but there is a slim chance it may be fit to take there.
  11. If you want a 24v let me know. I know of a complete 2.8 setup and an r32 setup too. I know about the N2O, I've got an NOS sportsman fogger kit, and a proper fuel system, and a progressive controller. and to keep it back on topic, I did actually it some of it the other day :-)
  12. well, there's a hell of a lot of room for the charger, as there's nothing else on that side of the engine bay (except the nitrous system and FPR when I fit it.). Depends what the software is like for them these days, never been impressed with the chips on the older vortech setups, not seen one that ran properly and actually felt quick. I'd rather turbo the other 24v lump I think.
  13. eerrr, read ALL of my sig........
  14. Well, after all the hard work, head scratching (and scraping, and banging), tears (of joy and sorrow (and despair)), and after a solid fortnight of 11pm shifts working on the car to get it how it is now, I am proud to anounce that it's on it's wheels, and the engine runs turn-key and it's ready to be taken out on the road. I hope to get it out on the road for a blast tomorrow, then bring it back for a good check over to make sure all is OK. Then drive up to Croft Circuit on Sautrday and do the track day that I booked up months ago. Hopefully it'll run OK, it idles and revs well enough when stationary, just hope all is OK with the 4WD. IT sounds utterly amazing, miles better than any VR, just like a really tuned VR in fact (which I guess it is after all). I sincerely hope it's all been worth it and I have a good weekend at the track with no mishaps. see you at croft and Santa Pod...and bring your camcorder........

    Samco Sport

Try Amber performance up in Scotland. they sorted out the Samco group buy I set up last year and handled it well. Be aware that you'll have to wait 6-8 weeks for any set not in blue or not in stock.....so don't order at the last minute.
  16. Ho ho ho, I think I might just have to steal the limelight with this one ;-)
  17. I started up my R32 lump, then grinned at the fact that it's the only one in the world with a 3.2 24v and 4WD, safe in the knowledge that I'm going to drive it tomorrow for the first time, after 6 long months of serious graft. Not a bit of chrome or a storm badge in sight.
  18. BTW, mine is now back on it's wheels and hopefully road worthy. Test drive tomorrow.
  19. Nice work Mr Cox and Leigh. That is one big bastard of a diff. it's hard enough bolting up the syncro one, and that's MEANT to fit! Far more impressive than chromed wiper stalks and lupo wipers...........some people just can't appreciate good old engineering......
  20. iTop crease sanded out. side flared slightly to meet wider arches. Number plate recess cut away and replaced with genuine R32 bumper mesh. 19 row Mocal oil cooler sitting in the bumper iron. Not sure what to do about the number plate just yet. but damn it looks hard!! either that or it's pig ugly, can't really make my mind up.... got a bit of an Audi look to it I reckon? I decided to go with a textred black grille too, to match the balckness of the mesh.
  21. good 'ol independant rear suspension, it just tucks the wheel in the lower you go. camber ain't that bad either. I'll have to see how it sits i the ground tomorrow
  22. here's the decent one out of the set who'd have though a 255/40/17 would fit on a corrado!
  23. These are worse!! Don't ask me how he's managed to bend BOTH sides! (and the inner rims is split) that's what happens when you crash a 964 on a track day....... Still, at least some of the wheels are OK. I';; post a pic when this stupis laptop will let me
  24. any pics of the air con pipes? I've got a full set lined up for mine but I have no idea where they run in the engine bay (haven't picked them up yet). Good work though, keep cracking on, you won't belive your ears when you hear this thing running, they sound lush.
