Yes, I've been stung in the past by shoody bodyshops using too much fibreglass and filler. I detest the stuff and despise seeing it used. MY arches were only meant to take a week, but I made the guy keep beating the arches for another week as I wasn't happy with the amount of filler he was using. As for ruined.....well, have you seen what happens when water gets behind the filler? it gets to the bare metal and rots it away unseen for years. then when it finally blisters up and you get round to doing anything about it it's too late as the panel has already rotted away underneath.

would you stick a big red AIRCON badge on the back?

fibreglass?!?!?! what a bodge! you've just ruined your car......it's bound to crack and/or blister up, and it'll look an absolute mess when it does.

what year engine is that? looks like one of the early ones with the coil pack and leads rather than the individual coils. They fit quite nicely don't they!! I'm temptted to stick my spare 2.8 24v in the missus's Lupo........

i.e. does it run hot, and not at a nice 80-90 like it should. My old 2.9 used to do this. the head gasket was on it's way out, and it had countless cooling probs, always ran hot, kept getting air locks and spitting the water out. it used to pink it's knackers off if I tried to put my foot down when it was under load (i.e. at low revs, or more specifically, in a high gear, but at low revs).

you will be impressed, and it doesn't need chroming either.

I've never been a fan of aqua blue.............until now that is! Absolutley gorgeous.

I'd say it's pinking. Is it any worse when the engine is hot? are you getting hot running problems too?

after running 9x16's on a few cars I can offer you this advice. carry some clear nail varnish in the car an inspect the wheels daily. the dish on the rears gets hammered with stone chips from the front wheels and if left un touched will corrode and look minging. I've already seen one set of keskins looking rough as hell within 8 months. not due to the quality of the wheel, but due to lack of care on the owners part. Nice looking wheels when they are new, bloody awful when the rims start going scabby. look after them.

For looks the ride height is bang on. it's too low to be driven properly (i.e. hard) though.

Gordy just had one made up for his VR by a local fabrication firm and it's fantastic. the guy said he'll do them for £55. No pics I'm afraid, I don't have a working camera, I'll wait until he gets me a pic of it on his car. Any interest? if there is I'll have a word with the guy to make up a batch and get them cheaper if poss.

yep, same here, I ordered a set for my old VR and they are excellent quality and a cracking service too.

well, apart from mine and coxy's corrado's, which have both had fully functioning 24v's since December............ I still think you should have gone 4WD Jay, especially seeing as you have all the 4 motion wiring to control the haldex. or are you keeping it 2WD "just to be different" to keep the show mongies happy.........

Can anyone sort me out with a copy? I bought it with my G5 avantguard, but by the time I got around to installing my alarm and trying it I found out it wasn't the right version and it wouldn't talk to the G5.
