  1. I use autoglym - seems to do a good job...
  2. nice dubs guys... wish we had that kinda weather here
  3. Went down to see my C this afternoon... it's the weight on the drive shaft, as I said before this coming loose is quite a common problem and will cause the knocking sound and once it is loose you will get tourque steer. These are only available with the drive shaft and can't be bought separately.. so I have had mine taken off and will have to live with tourque steer for a while.

    Dashboard Lights

Do you mean the heater controls? These are notoriously bad... this is because there is only one bulb in the center dial designed to light the lot! You can get a higher power bulb which kinda helps but you still end up with a bight center and dull outer dials... I seem to remember Zarman has a kit that illuminates the dials better and I think this came up in A20 Lee's thread in the members gallery... Another way round this is to change your controls to those from a passat - not a straight swap but there is a how to on this I think. These don't suffer so much from poor illumination. HTH
  5. Due to come home this Friday!!! I haven't driven NGU since August bank holiday last year... it had severe running problems and after a long time trying to figure out why it was running so bad (new cam chain, tappets, belts etc) it still wasn't right... we then delved further and discovered that the crank and pulley had so much play it was running 4 teeth out on the timing... this would explain why the timing had to be retarded by 40 degrees just to get it to turn over!!! The price for a new shaft and pulley was over £400 from the steelers and a new bottom end was £700! so a new bottom end was drafted in... when we got the existing block out we then discovered it was a KR rather than a 9A! This has caused massive problems as it's by no means a straight swap and we've had countless problems getting it running.. infact we still have to change the distributer to a 9A as the KR one is different causing my timing to still be out! Anyway as you can imagine over the best part of a year there has been many many other engine swap related stories to do with all of this but i don't want to go on... Bottom line is it should be sorted and MOT'd on Friday so I should have NGU back and running for the w/e if not then the begining of next week... and then I can start on the whole running in game... Pics of the new engine to come....
  6. Afraid my knowledge is a little slim as to the exact bits that had to be sorted on mine as I had it done at the same time as my engine swap... I'm going down for visiting hour this morning so I'll ask and try and give you a bit more detail
  7. Both stopped working on mine... took cover to see what was going on and found that one of the wires had come loose.. quick bit of re-soldering and it was fixed... Good luck
  8. looks a bit like BMW's M coupe version of the Z3 IMO... love the M coupe but not keen on that conversion if it is real
  9. A lot of the PVW ad's often seem a little over priced to me...
  10. I had a knocking similar to yours... turned out to be the weight put on the drive shaft to stop tourque steer. Apparently you don't need to worry about this when it goes (which is quite common) and some people just take it off and live with tourque steer... I've had mine replaced but haven't yet driven it so can't comment on any difference it may have had. HTH
  11. I was thinking the same but a Passat instead...
  12. hmmm, you're missing stooopidly big sideskirts and gay bumpers . But otherwise not a bad effort

  16. OSV, like that a lot... is your "mmm" a positive or a negative? you could try it with gold bolts?
  17. sorry it turned out to be a wasted journey for you Henny, where in Windsor is he based?
  18. If I was looking at a new C it would be a VR for me... gota love the sound of that engine - especially a supercharged one :D
  19. yeah I'd like to see a pic of these too... to find out what I can tempt the Surrey pikies to when I get my C back :D
  20. black centers would REALLY suit your car IMO (would help the whole black plates and detailing theme)
  21. zarman, do you have many of these left?
  22. sweet... sorry to be such a vulture... but I guess this bodes well for you getting good money back in the long run. Let me know when they're available mate :D
  23. sweet, thats good news - maybe in the market for one at the end of feb :D
  24. I'd go for a MK2 Golf tbh.. maybe not the best interior but bloody good fun to drive and huge amounts of potential for future mods... plus if it's £400 less than the slow MK3 you were looking at then that'll help with insurance a little bit ;)
