Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!
Phil K replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
What are the seats from? the Head rest on the drivers seat looks a little odd - kinda reminds me of a crash test dummy! Other than that it really looks like it's coming together.. how many hours would you say you'd put in so far and how many do you think untill it's complete (if it's possible for a project like this to ever be complete!)? -
So how do you do that then 8)
-
where did you get the red filter made up?
-
I recon they'd suit a black or white C's better than anyother colours. I have red/smoked on my grey C and they look great (not my C below ) ... As Henny pointed out these are only available from FK so won't be part of this group buy..
-
looks cool.. is that with the standard bulbs or have you changed them to LED's?
-
Fair enough.. must admit that I liked the look of it in your pics 8) A drop down tray from under the dash that would hide the changer in the glove box area would be cool IMO, especialy if it was motorised :D

there's a pic of the seat bracket here --> http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 0&start=20

A20 LEE, why did you decide to do with out the glove box?

SteveM16v, I assume your engine is a 16v but is it a 1.8 or 2.0? Anyway, have had this happen 0on my 2.0, the first time I took it back to the fitting center and they re-welded it which lasted all of a day! I then took it back and got a replacement which ahs been fine. I don't think my engine mounts caused the problems as I've just put a new engine in and the old ones were perfectly fine... HTH

don't they do smoked/red too?
-
As far as I know the armrest is bolted to the plastic trim just behind the rear ashtray. I have a feeling that there was some kind of bracket that goes between the hinge and the center consol but can't recall for sure.. hope that helps a bit... good luck

This is going to be one of the best C's in '05 IMO... so, how is the interior coming on? -
Well you looked in to it and it would work out way too expensive  damn what a shame

RS5's look the best to me...

Does look very 8) though IMO...

I had a similar problem with the system in my MK1 Golf.. I'd had my amp and sub installed in a stereo shop and the thick cnuts had run all the wiring down the same side of the car which gave me the same electrical interferance on the radio(not with the MD's though)! Best thing to do is strip it out and re-wire it all back in, that way you know you've done a proper job and at the same time should eliminate the problem... if it stays then you may find that the H/U is at fault and may need replacing :?
-
MCM in Millford, Surrey have just fitted my new engine... Danny is ex-vw and only charges £30ish an hour!!! You won't get a courtesy car but for the money you'll save you could hire a car for the day and still be better off!!!
-
Looks better with out the badge or put a black one on there 8) Deffo need to get that chin spoiler sorted mate, but otherwise a very nice looking C!
-
does this on mine too - have put it down to a bad earth which makes contact under acceleration... I guess the best thing to do is remove the housing around the h/b and check the conections. If they're good there then you'll have to trace them back to the dash. Good luck getting this sorted and let me know what caused the problems as it may be the same cause on mine

I went out for a test drive in one yesterday, I had the option of taking the sales guy or going by myself - needless to say I went by myself!!! It really is great fun to drive and seems like logical progression from the C. This will be a company car for me so the deisel engine is the best option IMO although an extra 30bhp would be nice, also planning to get cruise control, armrest, anti dazzle r/v mirror and auto wipers fitted to make life a bit more comfortable... have a meeting with the boss next week to sort everything out and with some luck I'll have it by christmas (if you order before end of year you should get the 6 disk changer for free according to the dealer) :D

Really sorry to hear about your bad luck dude, glad you're OK though
