aposegil on this forum runs the E1K meets at Ace... haven't been for ages though - mind you I haven't had my C for ages either
-
£2K for 1 years insurance FT!!! I'd wait a year or two then get a C... or shop around - there must be cheeper insurance than that!!! Also if you can only get 110mph out of it then it aint right IMO...
-
PMSL... not copying you dude - I guess great taste just comes with a great name  My Seat will be my new company car and should be ordered in Jan (apparently with options there's a 12 week waiting time :( ) so will be in the same boat as you -Seat for the week and the C for nice sunny w/e's. Am going for the TDi FR though so different engine to yours... 150bhp and tons of torque should leave the C feeling slow
-
erm.... I think I like it - good quality work done and it does make you look twice. TBH I'd rather have spent the same money and had a normal C and a Leon Cupra.. should have my Cupra FR in the new year

Any info regarding L986 NGU - very shady history
Phil K replied to Phil K's topic in General Car Chat
Cheers for that dude.. will be writting to the DVLA to see what I can find out! As far as performance goes I think I had the worst bottom end with the worst head!!! you hear of 9A bottom end with KR head but never the other way round!!! would have thought I'd have been lucky to have 100bhp TBH  Really can't wait to find out what I've been missing out on  -
Any info regarding L986 NGU - very shady history

Thanks for the support guys... went up to see her this morning and she's looking great :D The 9A is in (without head) and I've brought a few bits home to clean, polish and paint. Should all be back together and purring by the end of next week (fingers crossed) There is no way I'll be selling this for a looooooooooooong time now I can tell you - overall it's cost me more than I could have bought a VR for a year ago!!! It would be pleasing to find out any additional history though as a matter of interest more than anything else... just so I have an idea of how many other C's gave up their existance to create my "guenuine, low milage Corrado"  -
As in the title of this thread: If anyone knows any past history of a 2.0L 16V metallic grey Corrado reg - L986 NGU please contact me ASAP... In the process of changing the bottom end over I have found the existing bottom end to be a KR lump with a 9A head!!! It had front end damage - only tell tale sign was that it had an early front bumper and it now seems that it has be re-spayed (in the same colour) at some point! This car was sold to me as a genuine low milage Corrado and was fine(ish) for the first month.... it has now cost me ££££'s to put right and has been nearly a year since I've been able to have a play!!! I'm not convinced the last owner was aware of the state of play and feel like a bit of a fool for not getting an AA check before handing over my hard earned cash... Anyways it's all nearly as it should be now and I will finaly find out what I've been missing out on... If anyone knows anything relating to the cars history - previous owners - garages that may have had it in - anything please let me know Thanks Phil

yeah the cover for the door "pull" handel would be good if possible?
-
I'd like some of these.

Find it hard to beleif that there are more black C's than green and there are more greys than white!!! I guess this will be a poll that will really show it's true colours in time (sorry - V bad pun  )

Phil K replied to godskitchen's topic in General Car Chat
what a peice of sh1t!!! Can only hope this aint a UK car!!! -
thinkj they're the first side skirts I've seen that suit the C! They really compliment the orriginal bumpers....
-
Put the petrol cap back on  Sorry not much help  Dunno if the VR has an external filter/pump as well as the one in the tank... but if it does then you may find it's a leaky filter/pump or fuel pipes. Best way to check is to turn the electrics on (no need to start the engine) when you do this you'll hear the pump (situated in front of your off side rear wheel) once the pump is running then you should be able to see if there's any driping fuel down there. This happened on my valver just after I got it... Good luck, oh and welcome to the forum BTW
-
Ditto.. to that. would say I've seen as many green as I have blue and as many white as I have seen red... Grey is deffo one of the rarest :D
-
that looks 8) cheesy, really liking this mod... if anyone has pics of it on a car that is otherwise standard then that'd be great... might aswell get one sprayed at the same time as the grill spoiler etc
-
Thanks Steve... So has anyone fitted one of these? Wondering what it would look like with little or no other body mods... Kinda reminds me of the Seat Leon's spoiler :D
-
no probs dude - didn't wanna hijack the thread
-
whilst on the subject of reiger grills... what are peoples opinions of these? (don't mean to hijack your thread just thought they kinda tie in together)
-
if it goes through the 3rd parties insurance then it won't effect your policy will it? If it does then do as Yalan says and get it sorted yourself - just make sure he covers the WHOLE cost including a hire car if you're left without transport
-
Sorry to hear of your bad luck dude, if the bumper is only scratched the option D and E... otherwise say it'll have to go through his insurance and they will have to put it through your local VW dealer or other reputable bodyshop of your choice - no compromise!!!
-
the later spot/fog sits almost flush with the front of the bumper as you describe - they would do this when fitted to an early bumper too 8) (I know this as my C should have a late bumper with fogs/spots but some f'ker had a front end and left it with the early type) So am basicly planning to just swap the fogs/spots for late ones so it is less noticable - just a shame that the swap costs so much and I skint having just spent a small fortune getting the C running right :(
-
late bumpers are slightly wider than early ones though so if you have an early C then you may find it sticks out a bit to far under the leading edge of the arch... if you were thinking of doing this to get the late indicators and fogs then you should know that they will fit the early bumper with a tiny bit of modification to the bumper. HTH Phil

I'm still not convinced... would like to see a pic of just the innner high beam rings with out the outer ones. The outer rings just don't work IMO
-
I can see grey clouds - just like any other day :?
