    Bad smell

must admit that my C was doing this when I last drove it... no power, rough running, and strong smell of fumes in the cabin :( If you'd said yours was a 2.0L I'd have called the workshop to make sure mine was still there  My problems came down to a f'ked crank pulley and crank shaft but were only found after a full head re-build! I'm having a new bottom end put in too as it was only £300 more than getting a new crank!!! Hope your problmes don't turn out to be the same as mine mate as this has cost a small fortune to put right :?
  2. Aren't those rims in the "parts for sale" section on here
  3. It's worth noting that the 2.0 16V engine (9A) is probably the least documented engine in VW history... I bought mine last year for around £3.5K with only 69K on the clock, full service history, and the body work was/is mint... however it had 5 previous owners! Didn't think it was a problem at the time but after the events that have occured in the last year it might be wise to think twice if you're looking at one with a similar amount of past ownership! It's been off the road for about 7/8 months in total now and I have bills of around £3K for the amount of work required for the engine... it's now had a full re-build and new bottom end! I'm sure this is probably a rare example of "good quality" corrado for sale, but it's worth noting that you can buy what looks like a gem and end up with a real dog... all in all though I have really enjoyed the time I have spent driving it and am sure that I have many pleasurable miles to come (once it's run in) and the plans I have for it should see it becoming a real head turner in the future. Bottom line is GET ONE you'll love it - just be sure it's the right one before you hand over your hard earned cash. Phil
  4. TBH I'm not keen on black/red... it does suit the Golf but not the C IMO. All red all the way 8)
  5. Looking sweet on the new rims Jim... *cough* lupo wipers  Whats next on the mod list?

    Sticky goo

Meths or white spirit will do it....
  7. Hi Nick... a friend of mine works for a vinyl sticker company in Camberly - can get her to give me an idea of price if you can let me know the size / dimensions and colour that you want Phil
  8. Might be worth trying the Whoretex dude
  9. I think they look 8) but maybe you should just have them on the inner light bowl - think it would look better with the diped beam on
  10. take it to a tyres place that do 4 wheel alignment and get it checked dude... should be the easiest way to get things sorted :D
  11. Niiiiiice - damn now I have another set of rims to consider when I get rich
  12. Hey Jim those wheels look 8) are you going for Silver or White? Oh and welcome to the Forum Paul :D
  13. Black VR M69 **C spotted in a carpark in Cobham this afternoon. Looked very clean (well looked after) and had a Miltek system on it by the looks of things... Really liked the "Yes it's mine" written on the bottom of your plates 8) Left a note with corrado-forum.net in case it was someone who hasn't found us yet
  14. bud news mate... hope you catch em and get it sorted with minimal fuss.

    Roof Strips

me too... gotta be better than shelling out whatever VW want for them. I've got some perfect ones in the garage but really can't be bothered to fit them until I have to :D
  16. That does look good - much better than I imagined!!! Is that a real photo or a photoshop? 8)
  17. If you get the late fogs you will also need the late bumper.... I am surprised you got the bumper to sit right on it to be honest as later Corrados had slighty wider wings :?: You can get the late fogs/indicators into the early bumper - you have to remove a bit of plastic but otherwise they go straight in.. I need to do this to my bumper as it's been left with an early item after a front end by a previous owner

    Wide Body Corrado

It's a good looking kit BUT I don't like the grill, you don't need air vents in the back (unless your engine is there or your rear breaks get VERY hot) and the grill looks pants - if I hadn't already said that  . Looks like a well finished car though and the colour really suits it ... this kit would be ideal for a twin engined beastie  Wouldn't do this to mine :D
  19. had a similar problem with mine after having the oil pump replaced... when the revs went over 3K the light and buzzer would come on and stay on untill the revs dropped again... after checking everything (twice) it was decided that it had to be dodgy wiring somewhere. A complete pain in the ****. For the time being I've earthed the wire that goes to the dash to keep it from coming on - only a temporary fix and one that will be sorted once I fit an oil pressure gauge. Does anyone know where / how I can get a plate that'll fit in the cubby hole in the bottom of the dash?
  20. safety reasons I think.. bit annoying though
  21. 3 bar grill looks 8) badge or no badge
  22. not my cup of tea and I personally can't see why anyone would want Golf indicators when the C fog/indicator combo suits the front SOOOOOO much more - good effort though
