I think it depends on a lot of variables... I have a 3 bar debadged grill on mine at the moment. I was never keen on these before and still aren't on a lot of C's. I'd had a 3 bar black badge affair before but TBH the debadged suited mine more... tried the debadged on a mates burgandy (dark pink  ) and it looked poo!

Ford, shouldn't worry about your engine dude... if it's running fine then it's prob all good. you've done the bits that are known to be in need of doing at around the 100K mark - plus it's a VR and they don't have to rev as high as a valver to get any decent pace so I'd really not worry  Having spoken now to the Garage about running in pariods it seems the very best way of doind things is to take it gradual and steady for the first 200-350 miles, change oil and thrash (with out red lining) should make it a good fast enginge  I've got 2 weeks to wait untill Danny at MCM is back from holiday and then the engine will be sorted and it'll come home (at last) I can't wait :D I'd also just like to say that I fully recomend the quality of work at MCM, they're based in Millford - Surrey. Danny has worked for VW in the past and knows a hell of a lot about the Corrado... and at only £30 ph you can't go wrong!

Thanks for your help guys, the whole running in thing is getting me worried now as if this is done wrong the engine could end up being down on power and I obviously want all the power it can offer! That web site that Gavin posted is very interesting and now leaves me wanting to sit on the fence as far as "the best way to do it" goes! Any more suggestions / opinions on this would be great...

Well after a year of C ownership and 10K miles in five months (it's been f'ked for the rest of the year) I've now got to the very bottom of my problems (lol it's a corrado!!!) We have done the head work - new chain, tappets, belts etc and it was still not right so had to look deeper and then discovered that the timing marks on the crank didn't line up! So this was stripped that down to find that there was so much wear to the crank pulley and crank shaft that they both needed replacing - combined they made the timing on the crank 4 teeth out!!! (C's with 5 previous owners have deffo been thrashed) The price for a new crank from VW is £400  so we looked at other options and have decided to go for a complete bottom end which is only £700!!! Once this is fitted it's going to be virtualy a new engine (and a big bill :( ) I know that after all this it will need to be run in (recomended 1K miles by the garage) but when they say run in what can't I rev it over? I'm assuming it shouldn't go over 3K in the revs - is that right? And also if anyone has any other recomendations of things to do to that'll help it along then that'd be appreciated too.... Cheers Phil

Have you seen the Corrado in Performance VW magazine????
Phil K replied to C. Will Corrado G60 2's topic in Exterior
I like parts of it - rear lights with hidden fuel filler is deffo 8) in my book.. (no) roof channels look amazing and as already said the bumpers look poo, but at least it's a bold statement moving into the relms of not been done before (well kinda) and finished in PINK the guys got balls :D -
Go to your local ICE / Alarm shop - they should be able to help (so long as they supply Sigma alarms) If not then have a look at Sigmas website I'm sure you'd be able to contact them dirrect... HTH

do they press into the orriginal holes for the C badge?

'94 L goes up at 56 and down at 15 - or at least t did last time I drove it!
-
Mine brings me right down - haven't had it working properly this year... every time it's come back to me it's worked badly for a couple of days then had to go back again!!! We've just about re-built the engine now and I'm having a new crank fitted this week (along with new clutch while the gearbox is off) I've spent over £2K this year on garage bills due to the extent of the damage to my engine - which we suspect was caused by a previous garage (but can't proove it) If I hadn't gone so far with it and could get back what it's cost me then I'd get rid of it in a second... on a more positive note the paints in great condition and it looks the nuts. I'm sure that once it's back and running properly I'll not think twice about getting rid of it.

Are you going to be selling these Dave?
-
I'll be there M15 VW, but without my C as I STILL don't have it back  Look forward to seeing you all
-
look cool - what size are they?
-
I think (and am sure I'll be corected if I'm wrong  ) that the last few G60's had the later shell, which meant that they had slightly wider arches and a bonnet that went ___------___ rather than ----____---- Interior was still the early type though from what I gather.... HTH
-
I thought the slightly wider with was the only difference anyway or are there more differences?
-
Looks like someone does - I think it looks bloody awful... rest of the kit isn't bad but I think the standard C's lines are perfect and don't need changing
-
There is a fookin big hole cut in the bonnet  - pics were up on whoretex
-
IMO the one next to it with the porsche rims and mirrors looks much better and colour flip paint only looks good on TVR's. Looks like it might have a nice set of rims on it though
-
so how about red smoked crystal... think they'd look cool :D

I can't find a Seat dealer in my area... have driven new Pugs and Alphas today but really wanted a go in a Leon (new company car due at end of summer) If anyone knows where I can find them in S.E. please let me know :D
