According to the current FIA regulations... "There are also restrictions on engine use. Each driver may use no more than one engine for two consecutive Grand Prix meetings. If an engine change is required ahead of qualifying at either meeting, the driver will drop ten places on the grid for that event. If the change is made after qualifying, the driver goes to the back of the grid." Still, two meetings out of one engine in *that* state of tune is a bit special!

Wouldn't it make sense to get the car set-uo to run on the fuel you'll be putting in it all the time?

Talking of those motorway information boards... On the return trip from the Isle of Man last year I noticed that one of the character blocks of the signs flashed on and off if approached above the speed limit. At first I though it was a coincidence but I tested the theory with at least half a dozen other signs both above and below the limit with the same result. None of the signs were showing any information and appeared to be switched off. What's that all about?!

Bloody lovely. The new wheels set it off a treat.

Are you kidding me?! Man, I love the F430 like a man shouldn't love a collection of metal, plastic, rubber and silicon!
-
...and ruin the surprise?! :)

Is this wheel fetish a recent addition to your personality? I can't remember multiple wheel changes on the Passat...

What is it with you and mis-labeled wheels on eBay?!
-
Well if you're sure your testing correctly with the meter then your battery is likely to be knackered. How old is it?

All I'll say is it's not sensible to use the same online alias everywhere if you want to keep secrets :)

lol...ten seconds of detective work and I also know! It's gonna look awesome I'm sure. They're my sort of wheel.

New wheels 7inch/195 wide Interesting INFO found!

My 7.5 inch-wide 17s with 205 tyres scrubbed on full lock. That's the main reason I sold 'em. -
Is one of the wires for the optional oil pressure gauge sender? My 16v has a wire for that in the loom that's connected to nothing.

A copper looked at mine once and thought the car was actually sporting a German registration number. Duh!

Hooooooooow much?! Good luck with that all the same :)

New Pirelli Advertising Film starring John Malcovich
bcstudent replied to Blue_Joe's topic in General Car Chat
I've got all the BMW films if anyone missed them and is interested. -
I've got the 35/0 kit from G-Werks and I'm very happy with the ride quality. I've lowered the back about 12mm from the factory Weitec setting to level the car. I wouldn't want to go any lower though as I catch quite a lot of speedbumps now with a 90mm front spoiler.

That's a most generous offer. Where in Norfolk are you from?

It's mechanically sound, apart from the crap engine mounts of course, but the bodywork and paint is in a poor state. Still, it does what it needs to.

Woah....revival! The DR-Z is pretty good fun and totally capable as a daily commuter. The fact that it's got a rock-solid resale value and it's cheap to run mean it'll be staying for a good while. Off-road it's very capable but it's 80% rider and 20% bike. I fall off a lot but it's not the bike's fault! I no longer need to own a high performance bike as I use stock bikes from the local Yamaha dealership as and when. It's handy being in 'the circle'. Today I rode over to the manager's house on a 2006 Yamaha FZ-1 to watch the BSB racing and I swapped it there with a 2005 Yamaha R1 for the ride back. Life is good. Saying that I realised today that of all the bikes I've ridden, which is quite a few now, the 2004-model R1 suits me perfectly. I can see me getting another one when the funds allow to be honest. I barely look at the Corrado these days. It's quite nasty to drive since fitting the crappy GSF engine mounts due to the immense vibration. The new gearbox mount has already failed; it lasted 150 miles. Cheap crap that I can't afford to replace right now.

You shouldn't have to rely on any insulation other than what's covering the leads to prevent arcing, I don't think. My guess would be poor-quality leads, especially as all six are doing the same. If they're new take them back for a refund.
-
I'd steer well clear at that price. Once you factor in £1200 for a new engine and the effort to fit it, as a worst case scenario, it's not such a bargain.

My car used to have a 41mm Saginav pump with three pulleys; it now has a 52mm ZF pump with two pulleys. The hose connections on both pumps were the same screw-in type but there's a good chance that the G60 is different. I don't believe I've ever seen a G60 pump up close.

Changed these still the same noise????????

I'd be looking in the direction of either the wishbone rear bush or the two anti-roll bar bushes on that side. Get under the car with a big levering bar and pull some stuff about!
