  1. Can you explain the term 'deep-discharged'? I'm not taking the piss either!
  2. I wish I got 34.7mpg! More like 24.7.
  3. Well it's a car...and wer're generally chatting! LMFAO at the car. Shame it's got such a weedy engine but it comes with a lot of gear for the price. It'd be a classic second car. Pimp HQ....so gangsta. The steering wheel kicks arse too. I'd buy my mate one if I could find them for sale anywhere.
  4. (Yesterday) Ordered an Optima RT-S4.2 battery and a Weitec fixed-damping susmension kit from G-Werks. (Today) Took delivery of the battery and picked up a complete new set of top mounts and bumpstops. That's the most money I've ever spent on a car in one go.
  5. It probably is (and I'm sure Lee or someone will be along to confirm that) but I just couldn't trust that sort of stretch. Maybe the photo makes it look worse than it is?
  6. That's quite a stretch on the tyre!
  7. My battery turned up today. Next day delivery for free...can't complain. You could do worse than to give STORM2's lot a call.
  8. While that may be the ideal set-up, I think it's safe to say that catch_twotwo's ECU doesn't have the capacity to control the day running lights. The way I see it, it's just a bunch of wires and relays. If someone can provide the required control philosophy then it's a straightforward modification.
  9. I don't believe that the temp. switch could affect the fuel consumption to that degree though. Heavy fuel consumption is usually related to a dodgy Lambda probe or wiring, but that also (usually) results in poor running when warm. The 1.8 16v is the only Corrado I'd own as it's the simplest.
  10. First, someone explain how day-running lights 'a la Volvo' operate. Is there a light switch at all? Do they have sidelights?
  11. I can't take the credit. It was my mate's idea back in the day.
  12. Yep, that was the pic I posted multiple times recently. 280 miles per tank isn't far off for a 12 gallon tank, but yours should have the 15 gallon tank.
  13. Yes * EDIT 1 * Hmmm....no. It should be covered but I'm buggered if I can see it! * EDIT 2 * Ahhh, there it is....yes.
  14. Easy if you have an uprated headlight loom.
  15. Good call. It's a common fault, can be tested before you take the leap to buy a new one, and only costs about £23 from VW.
  16. You could connect it that way if you wanted. All I know is what's in those diagrams ^^
  17. 2.0 according to the thread title. What do you call a lot of juice? My 1.8 16v barely tops 30mpg and it's running fine. I call THAT a lot of juice!
  18. Well, since replacing my PAS pump hasn't solved my initially-heavy-steering-when-cold problem I'll have to assume that the valves in the rack are dodgy. I only have the problem in the winter months so it's definitely related to low temperatures. Incidentally, the car hasn't ever lost a drop of PAS fluid. To confirm...are we saying that any Corrado PAS rack will fit a 1.8 16v with the right UJ?
  19. I'd agree in terms of the law. To clarify I was talking from the rider's perspective. Exactly, there's no skill required for high-speed straight-line motorcycle thrashing. Just the ability to put the possible consequences of your actions out of your mind for a while. As for wind, the '04-'06 model R1 fairing is more effective at keeping the wind off than you'd imagine, even for a 6' 2'' rider like me. Interestingly (to me) my 5' 8'' mate struggled with the wind blast on his '98 R1 on the way to the Isle of Man last year. Ain't progress grand?! I can't say for definite if the bike did or didn't slow down, although I tend to think he may have. I'm not taking anything away from that Porsche though...it's fast!
  20. I would tell you what I think...but I'm sure you can guess...
  21. I just looked at the text below your avatar. How can you be 110% stressed when you're 18?!
  22. The R1 got to indicated speeds well in excess of 160mph. You don't need big nuts to go for it in a straight line on a bike. 160mph is just like 130mph!

    Front Bumper

Ah, right. I see what you mean now. So in answer to your original question...'yes, the brackets do unbolt from the main bumper iron'. I guess you know that the two plastic guides the bumper ends slide into are bolted to the front wings?
