What times were you getting at the Pod?
-
I think the coilpack is around £130. Pretty reasonable by VW standards! * EDIT * Bah, beaten to it. Incidentally, the GSF online shop says £120 + VAT.

He's probably talking about the bit that begins with the spanking and ends with the creamy muck muck. If he's not, he should be... With regard to the spanking, is your preference a) spanker, or b) spankee? The question is purely for scientific purposes I assure you.

Doesn't that just mean it was tested without the engine running? I don't think the car will run with a knackered engine speed sensor.
-
My driver's side headlamp is the same; a lot of the reflector has flaked off leaving no real pattern. It only just passed the MOT last year too.
-
I'm sure it was there on my friend's 9A engine. I don't have the car here anymore though so I can't say for definite. There'll definitely be one on that end of the cylinder head somewhere as it controls the 'on' time of the cold start valve.

fitted my optima yellow top,and i found the battery leads reached no problem :) It seems the VR6 has longer standard battery leads than the 1.8 16v! It's a shame this GB died because it's a good opportunity. Maybe this a good time to re-post the details of STORM 2s supplier?

Hmmm, interesting. Have you tried stripping and cleaning the fuel distribution unit? My 1.8 16v used to idle very high after being thrashed for a while. It turned out that the plunger was gummed up and not returning properly. Do you happen to remember what the control pressure reading was when you tested it?

Nasty. He doesn't use relay bases; it looks like the cables are soldered directly to the relay pins. That'll make it a proper pain in the arse to replace the relays if you're not able to solder. * EDIT * On second thoughts, they look like push-on connectors. Still not quite relay base quality but passable.

When you say you've messed with the fuel pressure, was that with a gauge or just randomly?

£350 is a very competitive garage price if you're not in a position to do the work yourself.
-
This is getting old...pull your finger out man!
-
Annoyingly my steering rack doesn't have any power assistance when it's cold, but the steering is (at least) clonk-free.
-
I'm astounded that there are people in this world who could do that to a Gallardo.

Scally Rally entrants, Whats your news??????

That's a hell of a lot of metal for £100! -
Do you have standard arches?
-
lol...best coupe...worst photographs :)
-
I have to say, I'm not keen on the rear lights...but they're better looking than the standard alternative (I think).
-
You're braver than me for taking on a group buy that needs 50 people! Best of luck though. COME ON PEOPLE!
-
I can only think of four - Jay, Phat, Coxy and Stan. Only three of those were home conversions. lol @ 'plenty'! Am I forgetting anyone?
-
I'm here...but I don't have a 2.0 16v handy! Sorry. I would, however, expect it to be very close in length to a 1.8 16v dipstick as the engines are very similar and both take four litres of oil (with a filter change). A guy I went to school with filled his Metro up to the very top with oil too. Dumb arse! I've never seen oil running out of an exhaust before.
-
Did you see that video posted on here a while back with the guy going bonkers in the snow in his S4? It didn't end well for the gearbox!
-
Does that same think exist in ETOS? What the hell is the difference between ETKA and ETOS anyway?!
-
Still a total bargain! I finished re-cabling this morning and can confirm that the Optima starts a 1.8 16v (that's sat outside in below-freezing conditions for over a week) with absolute ease. Get these batteries people. You know it makes sense.
