trig's 94 OBD2 VR6 - New Wheels!!!! (...finally)

Yes we're well aware of that.... Jeez, sorry I spoke. Trigger, I'm sure it's going to turn out to be well worthwhile and I'm sure plenty of others here will follow suit. -
I wish I could find a 16v owner nearby with Koni suspension. I'd really like a demonstration before I part with my cash! I put a cheap Spax PSX kit on a Mk2 Golf a few years back and I could barely live with it.

You can't be *that* fussy then! :)

Good for 70A, so 'yes'...as long as the amplifier terminals are big enough for 21 sq. mm cable. Five metres will be plenty.
-
No, it's mainly the very conservative inlet cam that rains on the 2.0 16v parade, not the exhaust catalyst.
-
Yeah it does! However, I'd agree that a single 6 gauge cable would be the ideal choice. You could use 8 gauge but that would be the absolute minimum, and I prefer to over-rate cable myself. I = P / V = (4 * 104) / 12 = 416 / 12 = 35A 10 gauge cable (5.25 sq. mm) is rated at 30A 8 gauge cable (8.37 sq. mm) is rated at 40A 6 gauge cable (13.3 sq. mm) is rated at 55A * with 60 degree C insulation Wikipedia AWG

MikeyP, how would you describe the ride in general? I'm considering this set-up myself in a 16v and I'd like to know how you find it.

The aero 'blades on my Lupo wipers didn't last long either. Having said that, it's not bad enough for me to actually do anything about it.
-
I'll have to get back to you on that one...

Even 12 hours isn't bad going. I just couldn't bring myself to pay someone £40 per hour to do anything on my car. -
Wow, way to raise this one from the dead!
-
Do you mean the Idle Stabilisation Valve?! Start by checking that the throttle is adjusted so it's closing the closed-throttle switch on the throttle body. That's the signal to open the ISV.

2.0 16v Cold start failing and warm up idle too low

I have a friend with a similar 2.0 16v problem. It's been to various garages over the last year and all have failed to sort it. I don't know if yours is the same, but if you try to drive hers when it's playing up it completely holds back and dies if you apply any throttle. It's quite dangerous when pulling out of junctions! Hers seemed to play up more when it was raining but now, after being at the last garage, it pretty much does it all the time. I drove it last week for the first time in a while and it's very obvious that it's running seriously lean. -

I was thinking that £500 for the conversion sounded like a lot until I saw those pictures. There looks like more than a day's work to me, so if Stealth can do it in one day that's damn good going. -
Those are definitely his cars.
-
They both make the same peak horsepower.
-
Wow, that really is nasty.

:D

I can't remember ever seeing a blue five-pin plug around the airbox. I'll go and have a look at my 16v in a while.

The Mk2 8v ISV won't fit the 9A. -

I can't say I've ever seen a drag-bike with mirrors!
