Cheers for that. I have no idea who my local Bosch dealer is!
-
That'd be handy...I still haven't found the enthusiasm to go and get one :)
-
I think I hate you for having such an AWESOME car at age 17 :)

They're very rare...it says so...must be true!

Mixed opinions from the US on my car and Bens car.

Waaahhhhahahahaha....awesome work guys (on the cars and the Vortex crew). -
Tidy motor that. I think those BBS wheels are really suited to a red Corrado.
-
Did you take those on a 'phone by chance?
-
Okey doke, in that case I'll have to take the old one out. Cheers for the reply though :)

Thanks Gavin. This is why I was having the problem in GSF and the VW dealer - as their system shows a generic 8v head they couldn't pin-point the exact sender without a part number. I guess I'll have to get the car and take the sender out tomorrow, unless steview can shed some light....

Bump for a part number.... Also a little more info. about #3 would be handy. For a start is it a temperature sender or a tepmerature-activated swich? The fact that it has two pins would suggest, to me at least, that it's a switch. In either case, does anybody know it's operating range or approximate switching temperature?

RW1....you da' man....but I guess you already knew that :)

As I understand it the 2.0 16v and the 2.0 8v didn't get centre arm-rests for the rear seats as standard equipment. I'm sure fitting rear seats from another model is possible but I think it may have to be a '92> model to stand a chance of matching the seat trim. Could be wrong though!

Hmmm....having just agreed to buy a sold front mount from a forum member I'm a little worried by this thread!

What do you mean 'had'? Some of us still have them!

It is rumoured that they produce enough power to ripple the skin on a rice pudding.....it's true.

I want fist dibs on your interior following the pile-up... Just kidding :)

I read the mag in Canada but have yet to see it here. Shame :(
-
It appears to have US plates in the pics...or am I seeing things? It may even say '1000 HP' but I could be wrong there too.
-
Nice one...just checking because my local GSF was convinced that was an oil pressure switch! * EDIT * I don't suppose anyone has a part number for the temp. sender in question do they? My local stealer also had no clue which sender I was on about.

Was it the #3 sensor in the above pic you changed?

If the closed throttle switch was sticking in you'd lose all power instantly as if the fuel supply had stopped....much like the problem I'm having with a 9A engine in fact! It doesn't sound like this problem is the same. Gavin - is there a chance that you could tell me a bit about the two electronic devices on either side of the 9A fuel distributor? They look much the same but one has a three-pin connector and one has a two-pin connector (I'll get the wire colours and supply pics if required). I feel that my own problem is related to one or both of these but I'm in the dark about what they do and their control philosophy. Anything you can offer will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

My Corrado has never let me down in the two years I've owned it and it's passed two MOTs for a total of £37. Granted, I don't do that many miles these days but I perform very little in the way of preventative maintenance. Basically I treat it like an old car and it doesn't get above its station. I think that's the key! It seems that these cars soak up all the money that's around them. I have no money to spend, the car knows this so it doesn't waste its time by going wrong. Incidentally, I understand your situation. I also agree that no car is worth the stress and money worries you say you're facing. If you can afford to lose a lot of the money you've put in the car I suggest you sell it. My finances no longer dictate ownership of my R1 so I'm planning to sell it back to the dealer this week. It's just a production bike so I'll get my finances atraight and buy another next year. It'd be the same with the car if it came to it. Ownership of the bike for the summer and the fun I've had on it were worth the devaluation losses but I'm not about to let my sentimental nature to get me into financial trouble. I wish you all the best with your decision and your future chap.

I think you should do it and then take me for a spin in it! Seriously though, I'm sure there are cheaper options.
