Quality parts costs, the mirror will probably drop off the Pug next time the wind blows, maybe they undercharged you, perhaps go back & ask how much they want for an M16 engine & they may get that wrong too!

Great pics, I likes them German plates too! :D

Welcome to the Forum, use the search as there's been quite a few posts re. heater probs & it isn't necessarily the matrix. If you can't sort it after checking the posts, find a good mechanic who will methodically check the various potential causes. On my valver the problem of no heat was caused by some mumpty (not me) fitting the by-pass valve upside down. Good luck.

Joeyz- I am certain that Richard's Venom car was featured in an old UK issue of "Fast Car" (UK) or similar. May be worth searching for say Venom + Corrado on ebay & google.

As the old proverb says "sh*t happens!" At least it was the Focus & not the 'rado that shredded the belt & got the ignition key busted  How was the surfin dude, better/warmer than Newquay? 8)

I love my 'raddo too, here are some of the best comments/moments- after just buying it & driving it out of the garage, neighbour said "have you won the lottery" (she genuinely meant it). The looks from Mk 2 Golf owners when they see a 'raddo (ie sh*t, I wish i'd bought one of them instead after they've modded them/spent loads of cash & I know 'cos I used to have a Mk 2 GTI 8v). Overhearing people saying they'd give their right arm to own one. People you've never met admiring the car & asking you how long you've owned it etc. The friendship & interest you get from other Corrado drivers. :rabiit:

Sounds to me like you've run over a couple of doggers.

Yeah, deffo snot green should not be seen.

Seems like your priorities are a bit mixed up mate. Get that G60 motor going again then polish it up.

Hey Waz, don't get the hump about it. :joker2:

Dunno, but I suggest a bit of bush :cat: Seriously though the "ride" (i'll resist a pun here) should not be too harsh. Maybe get your Raddo up on a ramp at a garage you trust & get them to check out shocks/springs etc, any duff items can then be first priority.

Nil desperandum old buddy, did this job myself a couple of weeks ago on my old valver. You don't need to take the grille out, first job is to protect the paintwork by putting some masking tape on the bumper next to where the indicator will be removed, then get a screwdriver on that nasty clip thing that holds the indicator in & ease it out. Next prise the fog lamp out from that peg thing fitting. The rubber bung should go over the connections at the back of the fog & then it should go back into the recess which is a snug fit for the bung, line the peg up & then carefully push the indicator back in, & hopefully job is done. Any probs. send a pm & I'll try to explain it better. If you're in the area give me a call & I will gladly help. :study:

Keep the Sebrings for the salty winter roads, then put your Lensos back on in the Spring, keeps them from gettin' buggered. 8) You may get about a ton for them on ebay, or maybe keep them for originality just in case.

Thanks y'all for your help , after further investigation it seems likely that the leak is probably from where the distributor mates to the block/head. Hopefully this will be of use to another forum member.

Why not just get a random cheap panel from a scrappy or just some cheap metal, prep. it then spray it & see if you get a decent result. Saves tears instead of it going pear shaped on your Corrado.

Ok guys usual problem 16v kr leaking oil from distributor but i've had a new (from G & S) distributor fitted & the supposed "seal" at the base of the distributor has already been replaced once after to no avail. So why is it still leaking? when the seal was replaced this time mechanic assured me he would smear a little sealant round "the ring" (on the distributor, barf, barf!). Any sensible advice to solve this would be appreciated.

Sad news indeed, maybe it's time that the blueprints for the Corrado cabrio had the dust blown off them & they could build it with a tuned VR motor, yee hargh ! I worked (in the UK) with a German guy who worked on Corrados at Osnabruk but he was a bit cagey about it, maybe he did'nt want to tell me too many secrets. It would be tragic if a firm/factory that had such a great heritage had to close. Can't see why personally VW can't help them out by giving them some work, let's face it the current VW range is a little bit uninspired & they could help them build some cars with a bit of character.

Guess it's got to clean it somehow & there probably are'nt any Andrex puppies in the North Sea :study:

Come on guys it's not rocket science, stick it where the sun don't shine !

If you can get a friend or relative living abroad to "remember" that they were driving at the time especially if the photo is not clear who was behind the wheel. If they admit to it then the "law" can do wot the pelican does with it's beak! Result!

I've been having problems recently too firing up my "badboy" 16v (1.8) & also thought it must be the dreaded ignition switch. It was getting embarrassing just sitting there turning the key & praying the bugger would start. To cut a long story short (as Spandau Ballet once sang) after searching desperately thro' one of my Haynes manuals (Golf & Passat) I tightened up the negative battery terminal & touchwood she's started first time every time since. The terminal felt tight enough by hand but i guess just needed a harder screwing! :geek: I had to have a new distributor recently & assume the AA dude who kindly fitted it did not tighten up the terminal enough. Certainly worth checking it before splashin' the cash on a new switch or starter motor.

dnac- as a 16v owner I have to say that I too would now opt for a G60 purely because there is plenty of low down power & they feel that much quicker. Suggest you drive a couple standard examples of each, then decide & if appropriate get the charger fully checked before u splash the cash. Remember tho' that a 16v can be tuned to give a similar output to a standard G60, I believe that Kent do a couple of good cams to improve low down torque & a 2 litre block can also be used. Long live the 16v! :blackeye:

Joe-does'nt sound to me like he's doing you much of a favour at £300+ for cash, still I 'spose in London they charge £50 just to lift the bonnet. A new matrix (16v) can be bought on ebay for £30ish, but i think it is a bit of a fiddly/s*itty job. Does the heater still work & are you losing coolant? If the answers are yes & no I would hang on to my wad & just put up with the fans on & maybe pump up the bass to cover it up. :afro:
