  1. Excellent, just had a look on ebay and it can be purchased cheaply, the advert I looked at seemed to be advertising a free gift of access to sky without the need for a sky box, dish etc. I'm looking forward to seeing the night shot, I will probably give this a go myself.
  2. I've got some belt dressing spray at home, it works well, but it makes the belts very noisy. I can't remember what its called, but I can find out when I go home!
  3. I like it, its part of what makes a Corrado a bit special. I have to admit when you look at it from the side it sits at a very steep angle and looks a bit odd. But it is supposed to be there to spoil the airflow reducing uplift, so its not a styling thing.
  4. Very tasty looking engine. £120 for the throttle bodies sounds like a bargain.
  5. They are Corrado ones, some have the black plastic band colour coded though. Not sure about the touch sensitive wing mirror, do they do that on TVRs with Corrado mirrors? I thought phoning Mclaren would be a bit of a piss take, although it would be interesting to see what they say. It would be funny if they were cheapest and got loads of orders for Mclaren F1 mirrors.
  6. Right, I got them from TVR today. They were £29.40 each + VAT, totalling £69.10 inc VAT for the pair. They are genuine VW ones with identical part numbers etc to the originals which I took off. The parts man told me I was lucky as they were clearing out old stock which was slow to shift, he says they are normaly £50 each. For anyone who wants some, I would recommend giving your local TVR dealers a call, and seeing what they can do.
  7. Thats not fare. 2 days into our visit to NZ a me and a mate took a 10 minute test drive in a Skyline, which had nearly no petrol, we got totally lost and ended up leaving Auckland via the harbour bridge, so that brings back some cool memories. We returned to the garage about 50 mins after we left, and made our apologies. My ex used to work in the ANZ tower, not sure if its still ANZ, but it had a blue top on it and was one of the tallest buildings in Auckland other than the Sky Tower obviously.
  8. Thats how I did mine, it is actually quite easy to do. Probably the tickiest bit of teh whole job is pressing in the new ones if you use oem bushes. I did this using various bits of studding and steel packers.
  9. That was my opinion, which is why I raised the question about using a cat bypass. mrbeige, Did the pipe you bought which fouled the steering rack replace the cat too?
  10. If you used a cat bypass, then surely that would be in place of the cat, so you would only have to refit the cat, or run it with the cat. I was under the impression that the 4 branch manifold takes the place of the original manifold, down pipe and cat, is that correct? If it stops before the cat with the correct flange to mount the cat onto then us people with 9a engines could be in luck.
  11. I'll sort a few things for the use of your hot rod.
  12. 4stud, Do you want to wash my car? I hate washing cars, which is a shame because I love it when my car is clean and shiny. I would rather be lying underneath it fixing something than scrubing dirt off, only for it to get dirty again.
  13. Has anyone got a photo of the rear of a Corrado wing mirror they could post up before tomorrow morning. All being well I plan to pay the dealers a visit tomorrow before 12 which is when their parts dept closes.
  14. Well I am only assuming, I could be wrong. I'll let you know when I find out more.
  15. Looking very shiny, I'm very impressed with Zymol wax, and it makes the car smell like Banana milkshake. When I last waxed mine my next door neighbour, who has about 1000 different types of wax to polish his Harley, came over and asked what the hell I was polishing my car with.
  16. Not as far as I know, I'm guessing they will be plain flat ones as fitted by VW, but I may be wrong.
  17. Excellent, I think a trip to the TVR dealers is required.
  18. Im assuming Mclaren will probably be as expensive as VW. £29 each, compared to £44 each from VW. That is for TVR Tuscan mirrors, which I am pretty sure are the same.
  19. I know they are fitted to variuos TVRs, but which models? Been looking around on Google images and Tuscan wing mirrors appear to be from a Corrado. I'm planning on buying a pair of new mirror glasses for my C, and have been quoted less by TVR for Tuscan heated mirrors than VW quote for them. Also it is a damn good excuse to have a look around a TVR showroom. :)
  20. Hmmm interesting ideas. Iv'e read both before. My car loves revs and often sees 6000 rpm +, so it's probably not too bad. Also I decoked it around 20,000 miles ago by whilst re-building and gas flowing the head. Maybe a combination of the two will work even better, if I put a pint of water in my petrol tank and do a lap of the M25 in 2nd gear it should surely run better. :D I understand the theory of both, but no too sure I like the idea of connecting a bottle of water to my intake system.
  21. Excellent, i'm interested too. Ages ago I emailed Revell about their plastic Corrado kits they used to do. Maybe others have too and they've taken notice.
  22. Very good idea. The same questions come up so often, it would be very useful to have them all in one thread. I tried to start a thread along these lines this a while back. Maybe some useful bits could be taken from there. http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... t=done+16v
  23. Looks pretty good to me. Certainly improved on when you bought it, and 135bhp sounds alright too.
  24. Hoping to get up there a few times this year. Really want to go to some of the proper drag events with funny cars, top fuel dragsters etc. As much as I enjoy the VW events, these are just awsome to watch.
