Where did you buy them, how much and did they come with bolts to attach the adapters to the hubs and bolts to attach the wheels to the adapters?
  2. I had a thin walled split sleeve on both my Corrado and Mk2 Golf with std bushes. which the bolt passed through.
  3. Mine has poly bushes and did it when I had std ones too, although the nearside rear wishbone bush was completely shot. I don't beleive it is anything major i.e. which would alter geometry under load, mine handles very well, with 100% predictability when on the limit.
  4. :offtopic1: but still about wheels! What size tyres do you have on your D90s? I take it the rears are 8 inch.

Where is the best place to buy VW to Porsche wheel adapters? Should I insist on H & R, are FK ones fine? I've also found some other ones at £149 per set IIRC which say they are TUV approved. Not sure if they come with bolts though, I'd imagine they have the bolts to attach them to the hub, but not sure about the wheel bolts. I have 6x16 fronts and 8x16 rears, all 4 wheels are ET 52. Anyone got any photos of 205/45 16 tyres on wheels of this size, I'm really not fussed about getting that 'stretched' look everyone loves at the moment, but would like to have a look to see how this size tyre will fit. Any recommendations for places to buy centre caps for design 90s?
  6. Schrick 268/276 cams in my valver, it idled like a rally car which was novel for about 2 days and was actually slower than with KRs. Maybe I'd have seen better results on throttle bodies, but cannot afford them.
  7. g-man, The link in the index for Engine Bay where it shows you as a sponser needs updating, as does the graphic. Any ideas on 16V CNC flowed head costs?
  8. Interesting, I had this last week but with 07096807541. I didn't bother ringing back, I was a little suspicious. Also the day before I had the same but it said "No number", so even if I wanted to call back I couldn't.
  9. The site looks good, don't forget to update your signature link once your happy with it. I particularly like the CNC heads, unfortunately I cannot afford one at the moment, although in the future I am considering one. Do they have 3 angles valve seats? Out of interest how much would you charge for a CNC flowed head to suit a 9A 16v? Edit  I see you have just updated the link.
  10. So having tested it, would you recommend buying one for a 2.0 16v?
  11. I think he is still on Club GTI and also probably the forum in his signature. I think he was getting fed up with his C though.
  12. Good point, I suppose it depends on where your prioritys lie. For me Number 1 is suspension setup/ride height, followed by wheel size/design. But if pacificshack values his choice of wheels over susupension set up then maybe wheels first. Trouble is if he gets the wheels first, then fits suspension and has problems with rubbing, unless it is adjustable he'll be in the same situation whatever order he does it in. I think we need to know from pacificshack: A. What size wheels you want to run. Width, Diameter, offset, Tyre size. B. How low you plan on going. C. If A or B are a bit extreme i.e. 18" wheels lowered 100mm, which one you would compromise, or if no compromise would you consider bodywork adjustments? Mine is on 7.5 x 17 wheels with an offset of 33mm. I have 205/40 R17 tyres and it is around 40mm lower than standard. I have no problems with rubbing even with 2 rear passengers, other than on full lock the O/S tyre just catches the plastic wheel arch liner.
  13. And a damn good clean up and a nice heavy coat of waxoil won't go a miss either. Even more usefull waxoil the insides of the rear quarters, sills, doors etc. It smells but it will offer some extra protection.
  14. Yep I'd lower it first too. Get the car set up how you want it then sort the wheels as a finishing touch.
  15. Looking lovely, one of the best, most complete modded Corrados around. Classic Corrado lines with the creature comforts and refinements of a modern VW. Jay are your wheels lacquered or do you just keep polishing them up? I take it they are on for everyday use.
  16. Roger, I'm not sure but I think the ABF inlet is more similar to the KR one i.e. not so much improvement. But I would do some research because my memory is not to good these days :? Have a look Here for lots of info about 2.0 16v engines. Beware the Club GTI sight is very S  L  O  W  at the moment!
  17. Correct! Mine has a KR inlet cam and goes straight through the emmissions test on the MOT.
  18. I am looking at some at the moment! Considering them as a rarer alternative to D90s.
  19. Thats not fair, I really want some Design 90s on mine!
  20. I was chatting to a mate about this earlier, he is a fireman, as soon as I mentioned it he said, "Whatever you do, don't put a crash victim in your car". Apparently if the patient mentions back pain the paramedics will not risk moving them, so if the car is in the way it gets cut away. Apparently they're trained to always approach casualtys from the front to stop them looking around.
  21. Yeah, just before you did
  22. chrishill, I thought bends were there to slow you down so you can keep burying the throttle and spinning up the rear wheels, maybe with a little countersteer just for fun.
  23. Somone keeps putting specialy desgined pad trimmed in matching carpet under the throttle of mine to stop this terrible problem, AKA the mat. I have learned to live with this condition, but do accept it can cause serious injury and even be life threatening.
  24. Lowered suspension, they were just too high from the factory.
  25. gradeAfailure, chrishill, g60dave, Now they are how Yank cars should be! Almost makes me question why I have a German car.
