blue95, I have that kit on my Corrado, they do different ones dipending on your car, so make sure you get the correct kit if you go for it. I'm happy with my FK suspension which has been on the car for 3 1/2 years. By the way when I bought mine they were £250 per kit.

Yep it was Jim who I dealt with. Really helpfull bloke.
-
Probably a 3 series beemer, maybe an Audi A4 which almost bought or the Seat Leon I used to have.
-
That is the nuts, can't wait to get one of these.

Personally I would leave it alone, as daves16v says you will risk distortion of the roof panel when welding. Its a lot of work!

I got my lightened flywheel from RPM, no problems with that. I spent quite a while up there chatting to them about various things, they seemed very proffesional and were very helpful. I cannot comment on the quality of their engine work having not had any done, but I did see several VW flowed heads, and he was more than happy to explain what he was doing etc. I suggest you go and talk to them. I'd have thought the VR6 is not really worth considering beacuse you can buy a Corrado VR6. However if you want a 1.8t, I'm quite sure it it would be a better bet for a high power road engine ie a 210 or 225 bhp from an LCR, S3 or TT with std management revo'd to around 260bhp.

Ah ok, I'll bare that it mind. Cheers.

Mine used to handle very badly, which was sorted by new suspension bushes all round and playing around with tyre pressures and ride height. Now it handles very well and I can hustle it along with plenty of confidence. It does clonk/knock when backing out of a drive on lock and also going over rough ground, ploud fields at anything over 50mph are particularly bad  I also notice it seems to handle differently on different days, yesterday I was convinced one of my tyres was flat or very low. I checked all 4 tyres and they were fine, last night it drove perfectly. The car also seems faster and smoother on some days when doing exactly the same journey. The clonking I would love to get rid of although its really not that bad. The different feeling of the car each day I put down to subtle condition changes i.e. temperature and me being highly sensitive to every detail of how it drives. I suspect there is a small amount of play in the rack which could be remidied by adjusting it a little. -

Yes a very fine line between working to your own personal standards and making a profitable company charging what people "think" is fair. Also running a business in this sort of trade appears to demand working 12 hours a day 6 days a week. So maybe TSR are not making huge piles of cash for a rubbish job, maybe they are struggling like the rest of us, which becomes appartent in some jobs and not others. My only experience of them is a phonecall for advise years ago, so I cannot comment on them from personal experience. I think I'd be going to Stealth or G werks if I didn't do all the work myself.

I think that is the problem with my set up. I have Vag com which worked on my Seat Leon, but not the Corrado. RW1, Any ideas on the cheapest place to get a main lead with electrical interface isolation? I know we have spoken via email about this previously - I'm only just getting to the point where I've got time to try and get to grips with this.

Give it a go, you certainly seem to have the ability and enthusiasm to be a real success. But after a year or two I suspect it could become just a job, no longer a hobby. You can always find new hobbies though... I have always loved cars and from a young age, way before I could legaly drive have enjoyed working on them. I did engineering at college and got bored of that, I then got a job working at a small family run bodyshop, we did some very interesting cars; Complete restoration of a Caddilac, Camaro, lots of old English stuff, Bedford CF van with a small block Chevy, show prepped RS Turbo which was a cover car in Fast Ford, a couple of drag cars and lots of other interesting projects. After three and a half years of that I hated working on cars, I had no interest in doing it as work or a hobby. I left and went back into engineering doing CAD and then estimating which I do now. It took about 3 or 4 years to regain my interest in working on my own car again, so all I would say is be prepared for your interest levels to change and maybe have a backup plan in mind.

40p per mile. I travelled from East Essex (near Southend) to Cardiff and back in a day and that came to £160 on my expenses with food and bits.

kevHaywire, Some good models there. I've got the Schabak one and the Herpa Corrado and Scirroco set.

I used an easy bleed, and clamped the bias valve the whole time, although it will not make any improvement to bleeding the fronts. Definately clamp it for the rear.
-
Try bleading it again, I had similar problems and after leaving it a few days a whole load of air came out. I bled a good 2 litres of fluid through before I got the air out. Are you clamping the bias regulator whilst bleading?
-
I'd imagine you would get more money from selling the Pug. Corrados, particularly valvers seem to be worth very little at the moment. That could be a good argument to use with your g/f to persuade her she wants to keep the Corrado.

Corrado Spotting! Was it you? [Archive February 06]

Shell petrol station in South London at 7.55 this morning. Silver Corrado. You were broadcast live on BBC1 during a discussion about petrol prices!!! You may have spotted Quentin Wilson being interviewed. -
It's worth a go, a mate damaged two of his wheels and got the replacements paid for by the council.
-
I'm interested to see the museum video too.

Looks great, I want one now!

Do you use an ice scraper? I've managed to scratch my windscreen with that. I also had a stone under my drivers side wiper which scratched a lovely arc into the screen.
