1. Yeah there was one as well that had seen better days at Charles Trent at their Poole, Dorset branch, back in December of 2012 / Jan of 2013 think it was a 1992 / 93 16 valver in black on a k / L reg. How many was it that were made world wide 97,500 or something, god knows how many are left now, I dred to think
2. Hello ladies and gents, I wounder if you could please advise me if I'm correct or not. This battery tray issue for the Corrado am I correct in saying that it's the same or very similar to that of a MK2 Golf, as the Golf panel can be purchased for £26.50 Many thanks. Si

Top man Billcor, I might buy some of these as mine are rusted badly. Nice one, cheers. Si :thumbleft:
4. Hello Horney, I'll take the rear spoiler and the spoiler motor complete, and also both the bonnet hinges, but only if you've still got them of course. I can collect and pay you cash on collection as I'm only from Bournemouth so a drive up to you is no problem. The only other thing I might need is the air intake scoop under the radiator as mine has rusted through. Many thanks. Si
5. Hello Clumpy1, it's Water under the bridge dude, if you want to wast your time having a moan :) Hope you sell your calipers, good luck dude. Over and out :thumbleft:
6. I believe you set the multimeter to 200 ohms or for a higher reading above that set it I think to 200K The resistance on the sender when it's cold should be 200 ohms or slightly above, and once the sender heats up the resistance level should keep dropping to a low reading say around 85 - 75 ohms. So if you don't get any similar readings like above then yes I'd say it's a weak / duff sendor. Hope this helps. Si :thumbleft:
7. Here are some photo's of the 1.8 16v KR (50mm) manifold. Cheers. Si
8. Oh yeah sorry dude I was looking at his user name G60radoboi, so presumed he had a G60. I stand corrected :salute: Think my eye sight is going  The caliper seal kit is 100% for all the Corrado versions. Si Si
9. Hello mate have a look at this item number 281090040195 on Ebay, the cost of the caliper seal kit is £22.90 with free delivery. this kit fits G60 calipers from 1989 to 1993 Or there is a new N/S/F standard brake caliper on Ebay, look at item number 390569254196 cost is £45.80 with free carriage. But I think this one fits the G60 from 1989 to 1991 ? So if you have a later G60 it may not fit ? Hope this helps Si :thumbleft:
10. Hello G60radoboi, you can also purchase the caliper seal repair kit for £10.00 or £15.00 off Ebay, so as long as the piston isn't too rusty and pitted, you could just replace the inner seal and outer dust seal boot, and clean the piston and regrease, which would be good as new then. Si :thumbleft:
11. As title above, plus I think it has the Throttle position switch attached. I will post some photo's tomorrow. Cheers. Si :salute: ---------- Post added at 12:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:17 AM ---------- Sorry forgot to mention this manifold has done around 86,000 miles, and came off a MK2 Golf 16v year was 1989. Will sell for £40.00 ONO, plus carriage of £10.00 Si :salute:
12. Hello Fendervg, most of the German cars have a thermostat that should open at 87c I think the K series Rover engines thermostat opens at 92c, that's why their head gaskets are always prone to going. There are some thermostats that open at a lower temp, around 80c but these are normally fitted to engines that produce a lot of heat, like a turbo / supercharger engine. When you're driving your Corrado the temp gauge should read when hot around 80c to 85c max and when you're parked up still with the engine running the temp gauge should rise up to 90c or 95c max Your radiator cooling fan senser switch should operate at 87c to 88c and in turn switch the radiator cooling fan / fans on. You say you bought your thermostat new from VW (VAG) so it should open at 87c I doubt you've been given one that opens at 80c It could well be your temp sender is giving your gauge a false reading. Also you have said that you tested your new thermostat before fitting it, so it should really be working ok i.e opening at 87c Do you have slight pressure with in the coolant hoses, as you should have some at that temperature of 80c to 85c as the thermostat also acts as a sight restrictor of the water flow. Because when you have no stat fitted there is then no restriction of flow. Your thermostat should like I say open at 87c and then should close once the temp has dropped down in the engine block below 87c so your stat should open and close to keep the engine at a constant temperature. The other thing you can do is to obtain a laser thermometer so you can test the engines temp from the engine block and cylinder head, just to check that the engine is running at the correct temperature. Or you can test the temp sender it's self by testing the resistance with in it, all you do is use a multi meter set it to ohms and test the resistance, the resistance should be around 200 ohms or above when the sender is cold, and then should drop down low as the sender heats up (resistance should drop down way below 85 ohms when hot) if not then it's a duff temp sender. Hope this helps. Si :thumbleft: ---------- Post added at 12:08 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:00 AM ---------- Also what mix of anti freeze have you put in the cooling system ? Si
13. No worries mate , any time. Glad to hear you got it sorted and it's working again. Si :thumbleft:

Bonnet Bra

Are these bonnet bra's any good, I've seen a few on some cars but I've never owned one. Don't scratch your paint work do they when there fitted to your bonnet. Cheers Si
16. Hello Rory I'd have one please mate on a group purchase. Just had a look carriage is £13.00 UK mainland. Many thanks.
17. Hello there, I believe the electric auxiliary water pump does stay on from time to time when the engine has been running for a wile, as the VR6 engines do tend to run hot, so there may be a engine bay air temp sensor which tells the pump to stay on, plus you should hear your cooling fan / fans cut in as well. Not sure about your intermittent buzzing noise, I'd have to hear it to be sure. Si ---------- Post added at 11:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:53 PM ---------- The only other thing is, you haven't got anything unplugged or a earth off somewhere, as this can some times course a buzzing noise from a control unit or sensor. Remember that when you disconnect your battery you remove the earth terminal first, and then connect it back second after the positive lead, other wise you could blow something. Si :thumbleft:
18. WOW lovely looking cars  Really wish I could of made this meet. Nice BBS wheels Had my Corrado now for just over 11 years and when I see photo's like these, really makes me think why the hell did VW stop making them. They look amazing from every angle, and I know I would miss mine like hell if I sold it. Convoy of Corrado's on a Grand Touring mission that's the way to go, yeah beautiful cars. Si :thumbleft:
19. No worries mate, hope you get it working again. Si

22. Right I've got some photo's for you mate. Sorry mate I was looking at the Bentley manual late last knight, and got the green 4 pin location wrong, it's not on the bottom right but on the top level on the back of the fuse box top left, (top left of fuse box, but if looking from the front it's top right. Look just under the main thick red battery power lead to the fuse box, third green 4 pin plug from left. Look at the photo's there are just 4 wires that go in to this green 4 pin plug. Also where the 4 wires come out from the MFA stork the wires are covered in a black insulation, and go to the black female connector plug, where they change colour when they pass in to the brown male connector plug, from this brown plug attached under the steering column, the 4 wires go along the thick wiring loom from the two steering column storks, and go to the back of the fuse box, to this green 4 pin plug, as mentioned above. Hope this helps. Si
23. I might be able to give you some photo's as I'm doing some work on my car today. Give me an hour or two and I'll post them up here for you. Si
24. Donation made £10.00 plus Gift Aid £2.50 (Simon Preston = VW Rule) :salute:
25. Yeah I believe the new gasket you have been given is for the early VR6 engine, as it is flat and has the brass / steel bolt liners with in the gasket, that are suppose to stop you from tightening the gasket down too tight. The later type gasket has the raised lip that fits in to the recess in the cam cover, very similar to that of the KR & 9A 16 valve engines. Hope this helps. Si :thumbleft:
