Sure, a rather old picture by now, as it shows one of the 2 aerials that come in the pack (a long and a short rod, I'm running with the short rod now, as radio reception I found to be crap with both and even with the original ugly horrible black plasticky bendy thing - probably my amp in the aerial base is shot), but nevertheless: Tempest

Exactly such a little piece of magic in silver/chrome colour adorns the roof of my Rado  Can't quite work out their theft-proof-feature, because anyone with a suitabel Allen-key can still take the aerial off, I suppose your average thief wouldn't carry the right Allen key, let alone know what an Allen key is  Tempest

Have to admit that I quite like the 3rd brake light on my US-G60, certainly makes it look different :-) OK, not the best of piccies any more (need to get round to taking a few more snaps), but still: Tempest

Longest wait for a part from the dealer? Try nearly 2 years, as I've been waiting for LHD Lupo GTI wipers. I have given up, and told my local dealer to cancel the order  I could have gotten them over in Germany, but in the meantime I've decided that I don't like the looks of the Lupo wipers on a Rado any more, and I simply avoid driving the Rado in the rain anyway  Tempest

International Motorsport Show 2005 Piccies (56k Beware!)
Tempest replied to Campaign's topic in General Car Chat
Erm, no Rados or Roccos to be seen then, I guess :  Just mentioning it, this month's PVW mag also has some piccies of the rather popluar Essen Motorshow that took place back in November 2004, again as is typical of PVW, failing to produce one single picture of a Rocco  There was a very nice Mk2 Rocco, shame the guy who'd taken a piccie of it has no longer got that on his website  Tempest -
Well I wouldn't go as far as that, as the knock sensor will simply retard ignition timing (as the ECU has maps for several octane fuel types, well at least my G60 chips has ;-) ). What baffles me regarding all this RON-stuff, is that GB still doesn't have the 100 octane stuff they sell on the continent (i.e. V-Power by Shell, and Aral/BP's Ultimate !). I'm beginning to wonder whether this whole 100 octane stuff on the continent is just another marketing ploy/redefinition of the octane rating, particularly as BP even hasn't deemed it necessary to rebrand the 100 octane fuel, unlike Shell! PVW, typical, aimed at the kids with no knowledge, petrol-heads. We've got them as of recent at Coventry Uni as well on the automotive engineering and autosports courses. They know their spanners, but do they know what a Fourier Transform is there for, or dare I mention Finite Element Analysis (all the basic principles of physics still hold, no matter how nicely you wrap them up ;-) )? Nope. That's why a high-rise cammed GTI can kick out 300 bhp or more  Tempest

You got a PM, Johnboy98 :-) Tempest

We could do with anything new and positive on the Jag horizon here in Coventry, but alas, that new Jag won't be made at the plant that they're going to close down. Tempest

I agree, as I had to find out again yesterday when I took my Mk2 Storm to the bodyshop to have a bit of a rust-hole welded up again (connecting rod fuel filler neck to wheel arch - typical location for water to creep in and eat its way into nice Rocco-metal). This is, of course, because of VWs fatal decision to not swap the engine bay components around as they should have, therefore necessitating the use of that horrid 11-point cross-bar to transfer brake pedal movement to the servo  Well being the proud owner of a DX-powered (112 bhp injector engine) Mk2 Storm I can say that those EX-powered (90 bhp carb-engine) Roccos do accelerate quite nicely, so don't knock 'm that much, even though in principle I don't like carb-engines ;-) £500 sounds OK, but check for rust inside the wheel arches, tailgate area, fuel filler neck (entire thing), leaky tank, front strut towers, lower valance front and rear, to name a few potential rust hot spots (although the Mk2s rarely are bad in the rust department, anyway, but better safe than sorry). I'll contact each one by PM to let you know as and when I've received the cheque, so erm, no, yours hasn't arrived yet ;-) Tempest
-
Another left-hooker is all I can say *yay* (nothing wrong with that, I say ;-) ), nice new toy, Darren :-) Tempest
-
Best to read the other thread from now on, as that's where most questions were asked regarding the 2nd group buy, and all answers were posted  See here
-
Nope, not until I've received all cheques and banked them, but that deadline is approaching rapidly now. You're still in, though :-) Henny: PM sent, thanks! Tempest
-
OK, I'm sending out PMs with payment details to everyone now. Final price is 126 Quid (115 for the lights, and 11 quid for postage first from Germany to me, then onwards within the UK by Special Delivery - hope they don't lose the parcels ;-)) Tempest
-
Always travel the long way around Coventry, when you have to get from end of town to the other, that's what I do. That's better for the engine, too, and I enjoy it more :-) Hmm, on the idea of carrying "weapons" in the Rado, come to think of it, I suppose my steering wheel lock could act as a nice anti-chav-tool, long and heavy as it is. Tempest

I could always do another group buy later on in the year, but given that the last one was approx. a year ago (managed to scrape in 11 back then), I though it best to just wait a whole year to ramp up enough interest. I unfortunately also haven't got sufficient funds to pre-buy sets that I can then only sell on at a later date (stale stock, so to speak ), so need confirmed orders before I can proceed. 1 more needed, I'll wait for Ian's verdict on Sunday :-) Tempest
-
Well then, my drive home last night must have yet again been exceptionally boring, well chav-free that is  These things, however, tend to happen more when I'm in my Mk1 Rocco, but the Mk1's too good to rise to such (in)occasions (sic). Tempest
-
So far I haven't had my say yet, but I kinda like that decision, Jim :D Nooo, I'm not biased towards G60s or something  Tempest
-
Got 8 confirmed (potentially 9) so far, need another 2 to get that discount. Tempest
-
OK, I've got a list of 10 names, but 4 are still what I would term "question marks", i.e. "not sure candidates" I will be PMing the relevant folks, but if in the meantime I can get a further 4 confirmed folk, then I'll start PMing everyone payment details. Hope this all doesn't sound too confusing  Tempest
-
Thanks, JimsG60, for your message above, as I was starting to feel guilty already that I couldn't answer PMs. Back again from D, will get moving tomorrow, as I'm still knackered from my long trip back (had to get up at 2 am this morning :-( ). Bear with me folks, but things will start to move now :-) Tempest
-
Nope, they are the smoked ones with NO nasty chrome plating :D In.Pro don't do the smoked/red ones, FK do 'm though, but their smoked isn't nearly as dark as the In.Pro variety 8) Probably right  Tempest
-
As the piccies of my set, when it freshly arrived last February, in the original stickied thread showed, the smoked ones haven't got any chrome plating :D Tempest
-
OK, it might be simpler (for me) to keep all the posts for the new group buy in this thread if that's OK with everyone :) Right, pricing, just hot off the press: If we can get 10 sets together (doesn't seem to matter which ones), the price per set is £115  Yup, just recalculated that amount, it's £115 plus P&P, which I envisage should be a maximum of £17 (as this time around I'll have all sets shipped to me first, then I'll ship them out to the UK addresses, as last time round, there was one set that got lost on the way from Germany to the relevant UK address  ). OK, then, can we have 10 names please? If you want to go ahead, then I'd suggest to PM me for my contact details, where you can send payment to, and once I've got 10 names and payments (cleared) I'll do a BIG bank transfer to get the sets shipped across. This whole thing may not be completed before Xmas this year anymore, BTW  Tempest
