You mean the one with constant power and variable noise? :wink: That's a phrase coined by many a trainee RAF pilot after piloting a Jet Provost, that engine is a Bristol Siddeley Viper T8 turbojet God I'm sad :D :lol:

Thought they said it was a BAE Hawk Engine which is a Rolls-Royce / Turbomeca Adour 151 non-afterburning turbofan, As Used by the Dead Sparrows???? The car builders must've modified it with an afterburner though as the Hawk doesn't have one!

Gutted for you mate, When mine got thumped I coughed up myself as my Insurance company were going to right it off (new Rear Quarter) We Start a Save the Yellow Corrado's Fund or summat!

Apparantly VW is making it's Dealers Purchase R32's to have in stock, so consequently some good deals to be had as they are no longer a factory order only! But If I were going for a Mk5, It would be the GTI! Easier to tune, cheaper to buy and run! But as a few have already stated the Mk4 R32 looks the mutts nuts, I'd have to have one in Metallic Blue though :)

Fast as Fook, Handle Beautifully but are built from Tin plate and rattle and squeak all over the place! A typical french car, Not a patch on the Clio Williams though!

yeah, £16,995 was the list price I've seen in 1990, hardly surprising they didn't sell in the hundreds of thousands really then :) Aye Considering you could buy a 16V Golf GTI for just over £13K in 1990! Means you were paying £4K to have a prettier but slower car!
