  1. Not sure I've posted this up right or in right place, think I've hijacked Chris's feedback but can thoroughly recommend Chris too, loads of parts and help off him, everything bang on. Just as were in same area normally ust call roubnd rather than post up here.
  2. VEEDUBBED - Great Bloke, Great Seller, thoroughly recommended
  3. The VR6's are different, don't think years make any difference. The other models can be fitted, just be a bit tight on radiator mountings, are can be adapted.
  4. Just messaged with my number mate, conact me andd pop it round on a weekend maybe and we'll have a look. Never use anything but the proper VW tool for taken leads off, might have spotted ya problem, or one problem just there, correct leads and correct removal and replacement absolutely vital on VR6's, and never anything but top quality leads, I only ever use Dubsports 10mm race leads, got a spare set of 8.5mm red Bremi's in garage, standard VW's (which are Bremi's) and probs another set of 10mm's and few others kicking round garage. Got 2 removal tools too, one for the 10mm's and 1 for normal so can get them off and refitted properly, the cheapo ones often will not connect down properly, could be your problem. Don't pull anymore off with pliers, pop it round and we'll do it properly, I'd always use dialectric grease too which got here on VR6 leads.
  5. The car idles fine, but then if any throttle is applied, when you release the throttle and the revs drop, they hang maybe 500rpm higher then they should for a few seconds, and then it will settle. Can't help you with error code but isn't the above just because the throttle damper is set too high, especially if somebody's been playing around adjusting it up due to the previous dodgy isv giving a bad idle. If is too high would give exactly those symptons
  6. He's got my VR6 carriers too, I changed full set up on front
  7. How much are the engine swaps, engine supplied or supplied by you. Saw a 2 litre Corrado that looks mint but could'nt live with a 2 litre, always fancied an R32, but maybe a 1.8 audi turbo 20v? Nothing urgent bout it, got a VR6 with new engine and box in quite happy with, but can't have too many corrados, sounds like you got hands full at mo
  8. Deffo wants looking at, should never be melting anything, would'nt be going anywhere till diagnosed it. Did he mentiion what fuse was in it, only thing could think of, off top of my head, is some idiot put a 30 amp fuse in there or something, fuel filter clogged, and drawinng so much current it's overheated as could'nt blow a 30 amp fuse, think it's a 15 amp in there from memory.
  9. Lilfuzzer has got my old VR6 standard 280 brakes which were in pretty decent nick, red powder coated too, though powder coating getting a bit weathered, give him a shout, guessing the calipers carriers might be straight swap, though ya'd need 4 stud discs presumably. Only changed as upgraded to bigger brakes
  10. Yep, front brake change a must, or like me also own Capri's, a Broadspeed, or similar high powered v6, drive that for a bit, with enthusiasm, then even the standard ones on Corrado don't seem that bad, lol
  11. P.S. I've got 2 mint Audi 288 front calipers I had on my car, then further upgraded again, but not a straight swap, need Golf carriers and the right pads, and MK3 288 discs (or 312's with right carriers)
  12. Haha, no there all fine, had the non powder coated ones on my own car within past 6 months. See if I can get some pics later or tomorrow, all move perfect, when think bout it assembled 1 of the powder coated ones too and had that on, can't remember why, think was gonna do both then bought 2 brand new ones off ebay for a song, car had total mechanical rebuild, engine, box, brakes everything so probs just had hands full at time and new ones saved time
  13. I've got 2 sets of rear MK4 calipers both with brand new internals, ended up wi these and 2 brand new whole calipes when renewing brakes all round few months back (long story) One set red powder coated (badly) dismantled, one set normal uncoated. The ones will look ok on, but powder coating clearly went awry the pad holder bit been machined to remove but I can't guarantee they've been machined flat and will hold pads perfectly level, Got one set of perfect red powder coated carriers (and a set of used red powder coated on my car, so will probs swap, so say one set of used carriers spare. Shout me if ya interested, been meaning to put on ebay anyway. The red ones are totally stripped, as been bead blasted then coated and the rebuild kit (everything pistons, seals, mechs. inside and out) is from Bigg Red anyway
  14. Ahh what a gentleman, and happy birthday, I'm sending it now, cheers
  15. Cheers, can you confirm it's 100%, how much ya want for it?
  16. I've replaced all those and more at once and idle was bang on straight away. At worst disconnect battery, as you say, and idle should be perfect when reconnect. I've heard bout people resetting with VAGCOM but my mechanic reckons every 30 starts or so and it's effectively reset itself anyway, i've never vagcommed and never had issue. If idle is all over place sounds like something else wrong to me, sure the isv and maf you put in is ok? I've got spares of all those things I know are bang on, plus spare ecu and most other things, I'm in South Shields, if ya get no joy, and want to call round and try known good isv maf etc. give me a shout, normally best way to diagnose for sure
  17. Probs. the motor, I've got a spare motor and a spare whole mechanism if ya need, mine went while baqck and ended up buying about 3 good spares. I probs. buy whole thing myself to be on safe side that's what I did
  18. Lambda and pretty much everything else, including engine is new, mpg was effected before renewed lambda (with a dealer vw one, only ones that seem to work and suit). MPG went down with cheap spare tps on had, with vw one is fine, it's just done 30 mpg on a spirited run down to Durham and back tonight, but it's a bit temperamental on intitial tickover after had foot down, not actually stalling but dying a bit, and not overhappy in traffic, but opened up it's bang on, loads of power, very quick
  19. That sounds bang on mate, tell if ya find it
  20. Anybody can get a new TPS for a 94 VR6, Coilpack. Nobody lists them, few on Ebay reckon got one for VR6 but none look right and after the hassle of getting a new brake and master cylinder where nearly everyone lists the wrong one for a Corrado VR6 now pretty dubious. Any other cars use same one, Golf VR6 looks diff. but might do same job. Failing that anybody got a known good used one, though mine is reading fine when testing for ohms and movement and yet seems to be playing up a little. I've got a really cheap spare one bought on ebay ages back and it does run with it one, no hesitation on idle, which is what prob. is, but mpg jumped right up and performance down a bit, and looks like it'd be lucky to last a week so put old one back on.
  21. Can testify to condition of that one, it's my old one, i bought a rebuilt engine that came with a rebuilt box, only reason took that one out, well worth drilling the starter bolt out. That gearbox performed pretty much identically to the new rebuilt one which now have in it.
  22. I\ve got a Seat Ibiza Cupra master bought for a VR6, just about to send back. Nice upgrade, the Stubby one, shorter but much fatter, doesn't fit VR6 but fit's non ABS Corrado's, mounting studs horizontal not angled, from Motorsport place sells them as Corrado upgrade, uses on their racing 1.8 turbo ones, essential for 1.8 turbo conversions apparently as clears cam cover apparently. Give me a shout before Tues. if want, think bought the last one, was gutted would'nt fit. 50 quid which is what bought will be returning for. Havn't got non ABS servo
  23. I'm drawing a total blank on getting a new master cylinder for VR6 abs. The place that got me a new clutch cylinder ordered one but when came same horizontal stud holes as the Cupra one above, looking on here and net everyone seems to have same prob. Sure I read someone had found an Audi A4 one that fits but can't find the post now. Anyone know bout this A4 one that might fit, or indeed anyone at all? Can get a second hand one of my mate but really wanted to fit a new one, everything else on car is new, and suspect mine is probs better than most second hand ones anyway. It has now started seeping slightly where the resevoir joins to master and that's only since seperated them to fit the Cupra one, which when got old one out became obvious would'nt fit. Put new seals in (came with Cupra cylinder and kit, where joins master) old ones looked like new, maybe that was prob. maybe old ones were sealing better, or masybe just one of them when seperated ain't gonna seal back up fully. If could sort that may well be OK, but still rather have new one if can find.
  24. Hello, as below, have a Seat Ibiza Cupra master cylinder, won't fit my VR6 should fit any Corrado with horizontal mounting studs on servo. Advertised as rebuilt used one by motorsport place, new seals etc. but looks brand new to me. Hello, after a bit of research I ordered a Seat Ibiza Cupra master cylinder, known as the stubby one I think, from a motorsport place, most commonly used for 1.8 turbo conversion apparently as it's shorter but much fatter than sandard and avoids snagging the 1.8 turbo cam cover. Already machined/adapted to fit Corrado. Well doesn't fit my VR6, only because the holes for servo are horizontal, the studs on my servo are angled bout 45 degrees to left, so resevoir would sit angled to left. Is this standard servo are has mine been upgraded aat some point, thought VR6 ones had horizontal studs? Other than that would have fitted. Gutted, looks mint and useful and tidy upgrade. Did specifiy it was for a 94 VR6. Bloke races a Corrado, pics of fitted, but was to a 1.8 turbo conversion. I bought the last one, before I send it back anyone want to buy it, if you've got horizontal studs should fit. Essential for a 1.8 turbo I'm told. 4 port, exsiting pipes fit to left, was gonna put 2 bleed nipples to right. £60.00 posted
