  1. Does it say genuine or reproduction - they have a lot of parts in that warehouse that they have not yet recorded for sale trust me there will be some right gems in there sitting in boxes - lucky they don't do open days or easypos would be in there with a fork lift heading right for the VSR dusty box section and recaro trims πŸ˜‰
  2. That would be good as the cheapest - think I’m going to buy one and next time in with stealth have a look at it .
  3. Sure im just wondering which would be closer a Mk2 golf or a MK3 . You would need to modify no dealt and make some fixings but worth it I would say. I know on a M2 floor pan it is the same part number as a Corrado. 4. Hey and a quality brand to surely that is worth a bash modding at that price.
  5. You know it mate after them nice shiny bits you have in they bay would be nice to protect them somewhat.
  6. Yeah I think his budget was to low back then to be fair - might of got him in a tiptronic. A 993 turbo in midnight blue would be a dream or a red 964 for me also - well missed the boat on that one- had a chance to buy one in 2004 964 c2 white with blue leather - oh well they were very unloved then !
  7. Interesting chap cant help but feel a guard under the engine would be a huge plus although lets be honest these cars do not tend to see bad weather anymore as mostly weekend cars.
  8. Reading this thread from 2012 and the poster was on about buying a 993 and his budget was 15 k - 8 years later for a manual they are now 45k plus. Last of the air cooled 911 was always going to make it a wise bet. If you read user rodmax post on thread he had a cup challenge one that would be a 150 k car now if he still owns it and kept the parts he took off it to convert to the road. One sold at auction a few days back. https://www.coys.co.uk/cars/1996-porsche-993-cup-3-8 186.000 euro sold a few days back at auction. Would of paid his mortgage off.
  9. As we all know the Mk2 shares the same floor pan as a Rado but later has a wide track - has anyone ever modded a MK2 GTD under engine trim to fit a rado as SWG are now selling them. Engine bay if far to open for debris for my liking . http://www.swgmotorsport.com/asps/ShowDetails.asp?id=100 Anyone brave enough to give it a ago
  10. With all the messing from eibach think if I was going to revisit the shocks + springs I would of gone for Koni adjustable dampers and H and r 30 mm lowering springs - you can adjust them on a soft setting if the crap roads start to get on your nerves.

    Massive fail.

Sure Geri the fiberglass is a perfect fit and purchased it for the exact reason the old one just crumbled- was purchased from ebay . I did not foresee any issues because had new fibreglass and vinyl just didn't account for an incompetent trimmer. There was another option that came ready trimmed in a black cloth off ebay but spent more money trying to achieve the OE look- however at this moment would probably of gone for the ready made black cloth - although you will have to retrim your sunvisors to match and cabin light console . I trimmed my sunroof with the Heritage material and it looked OE mint last week until the sun played a prank on the car. My fibre glass backing 3dr https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Reproduction-MK2-VW-Golf-Headliner-with-Sunroof-for-3-door-cars-UNCOVERED/143405770656?hash=item2163a667a0:g:6BMAAOSw1QpdnHDO Off the shelf Black fabric with GRP backing. Comes in several colour options and they can supply the material for other trimmed objects or you might be able to post and they will trim them for you - the sunroof should have a stitch in the middle so the spare gets tucked up for tension. 155.00 + postage https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MK2-VW-Golf-Replacment-Headliner-3-door-with-Sunroof/174095114506?hash=item2888e0a10a:g:eOIAAOSwDDpdzDJ5 Could fit this one without the paying for a trimmer as well - huge savings compared to trimmer 150 - heritage material 170 - 120 fibreglass board - see why I'm a bit gutted now chap .
  12. Anyone remember the renault 19 16V hatchback - looked great in the dark blue and black leather. Have not seen one for sale for a year so must be rare as hens teeth now.

    Massive fail.

Inspected in between the liner and headboard today as hot weather - glue is all gooie and runny - 100 percent glue fail due to heat - I’m sure the trimmer will make out it’s my fault somehow πŸ˜•

    Massive fail.

Thanks Dox, Ive posted it on a Mk2 thread and other have used the same combination of materials and trimfix and also failed- fair few posting me too epic fail- I think its a combination of heritage supplying a material that has a lot of movement in heat - fibreglass probably holding a lot of heat in the car on a hot day- trimmers using their normal glue and not a specific one for vinyl. Im going to call that Joe the Window fitter chap as he also fits softops and they use a lot of glue in that game- the trimmer I used in Walsall has been on Salvage Hunters classic cars - got to admit when he started doing to job I stepped in and said have you get a wet rag you need to clean the fibreglass board first as there is manufacturing powder residue on it - managed to get a wet rag of him but I would of used some sort of alcoholic cleaner on it myself- also have seen trimmers use a base coat of the glue first and let it dry for a few hours as it acts of key but this trimmer just went straight on with a heat gun and no idea what glue he used . Bit disappointed to say the least as its a horrific job to get the board out and I imagine the vinyl on there now will be wrecked if removed which cost Β£160 something. Have come across this product from googling vinyl headlining glue . Seems a very knowledgeable specific site and commercial grade products. https://www.thegluepeople.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_7&products_id=115

    Massive fail.

Sorry this is for my mk2 golf but you guys have had a fair few things trimmed in the past. VW Heritage replica OE vinyl headlining material combined with a new fibre glass back board - pictures below to illustrate the products. Very disappointed took the car to a trimmer as I know its a tricky job to glue the material on to the back board so sourced out a professional trimmer in Walsall. Looked brilliant once fitted but only after 8 weeks the glue has failed or the VW material has shrunk beyond the tolerance of glue (we had some hot days this summer). Picture below to show where it has failed on the rear corners. I saw the trimmer using a heat gun and not sure what glue he used - any advice if anyone else has used the same combination of a fibre glass board and Heritage material and had the same issues before I raise my complaint with the trimmer. Has anyone had this set up for a few years and no failure and if so what glue did they use so I can ask the trimmer to use it. Thanks bit disappointed right now as had to strip a crap load of the car to get the headliner out and spent a fair bit of money - went to a lot of effort to keep the stock look. 😐 Thank You.

    More needed items

Watching always at least one goes missing ! Aftermarket would be great so you could buy a few spares. The inner door card trim is actually part of the inner window scraper. .
  17. My advice chap is call them direct and ask them a distributor that has one for sale ot indeed they can sell you one direct- also a chance to see there other Cat 1 packages- they also own scorpion. http://toadalarm.com/product-category/car-security/ Also try that ceds alarm In Brum he has a fair few in stock- he dont do mobile fitting though.
  18. To be fair this is only Β£40 more then what I paid for mine. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOAD-Ai606-THATCHAM-CAT-1-CAR-ALARM-the-Lateset-Toad-Digital-Tilt-Sensor-T-TS1/290482159852?hash=item43a21600ec:g:ovsAAOSw0e9UtZos Ceds in Brum fit them for Β£120.00
  19. Mate you can still get an AI606 off ebay but the price has doubled in the last 9 months by the looks of it.
  20. Yeah I've seen that one used before πŸ˜‚ But seriously chaps if you have a well sorted car and spent a lot of time and money on her don't be daft if your selling and give it away for a song. Also to add to the negatives the shiny red decal is a fake MK3 one Sorry Im a f....er but cant help it πŸ˜‚
  21. Its a hard one as my car was advertised with a Schrick VGi a few years back with less mileage and I knocked some serious figures off (rubbing of the chin and sighing helped ) knowing what money-time-effort goes into a restoration. However I wouldn't be surprised if you purchased this car that you could enjoy it for a couple of years and sell it on for the same price- although that rust could get a hell of a lot worse over the next couple of years. Maybe we need to put ourselves in a present day buyer's shoes to be realistic what 6K can get these days. The car plays a few tricks by having the a newish VR6 red decal- new grill and the fogs which could be a mess covered by yellow protection decal - also has black leather so it can easily catch as seller out with buyer envy - the car photographs well from the front. Would I buy it for 6K - no absolutely not would have to be half that price - but maybe that is not possible anymore unless you had a bit of luck. These cars are been propped up by restored cars no doubt about it.
  22. If you ever needed evidence the prices are rising- at over 6K all ready at auction- advertised as great file of work but looks barely touched to me compared to other members cars on here and also no evidence of engine work or chains- the only thing they have is a clutch 5 years ago ha so scratching the barrel there ! Also high miler with 200K and no rare parts on it. Has a flipping golf gear knob and a kilt as a gaiter- none original sunroof- missing OE air box -riced out parcel shelf- rust on the arches and underbody- sills- tailgate - doors- elephant trunk hanging inside the front grill- bonnet foam dropping off- prehistoric bronze age petrol tanks straps that have been registered with national treasure committee- and that is just what I can see. Ends 15 July. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/auctions/1995-volkswagen-corrado-vr6-w8eQ8x
