  1. For sure that is the right thing to do- I will wait in till the economy picks up. Missed off the list its worth using creocote on the bases of the poles.
  2. Thanks for the replies chaps I've just got a feeling they won't allow it even though I think an oak garage does not detract from the appearance of a house - even some sun sails would be a huge bonus as the sun can be horrible for an interior. Built these at my old house. Only took me half a day to install- you need to rember to unclip the sails though if there is a bad storm coming or you go on holiday etc or you house might end up in another county. . Horse riding poles from the local timber yard 18 mm manilla rope (same as used in a scaffold gin wheel) Marine effect. Sunsails off ebay. Threaded carbini clips Postcrete for pole bases.
  3. That sounds a good contract for a scaffold company- normally good earners factories.
  4. Like this one I did last year on Victoria square Birmingham - good idea still have the roof sheets 😃 Mind you don't fancy manually handling 3 ton of tube per elevation again as kentledge (back weight) to stop it blowing away .
  5. Thanks Dox its something I really want to do as it just makes me cringe seeing snow on the older cars- lets be honest these hail stones seem to be getting bigger and bigger with the change of climate- won't be long in till we get hail damaged cars alike in the USA and OZ.
  6. Very nice - I know in the countryside especially old farm building with outhouses it would be relatively easy to get planning but in the city I reckon they are pretty strict on building in front of the house footings - A double one would be good for me - can buy them flat pack - concrete base- clay tile roof to match the existing house reckon could get it all done for 20K and would solve my car storage issue . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ENGLISH-GREEN-OAK-TIMBER-FRAME-GARAGE-CARPORT-TWO-BAY-OUTBUILDING-CARTLODGE/183485831496?hash=item2ab89b9948:g:5kcAAMXQoYJSLZY7 Would like to put on here the front lawn never gets used anyway to be honest. Anyone one work with planning and can advise- there are a couple of houses further up 5 doors that have garages in the front of the property line but built in the 80s.
  7. One small step for man and one giant leap for mankind ! See your neighbour has one of those oak carports- really good value they are - I have plenty of space on my front garden but reckon it could get knocked back by planning so not sure whether to bother trying.
  8. Ouch. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1989-Mk2-VW-Golf-G60-Rallye-GrpA-original-rally-car/283922058360?hash=item421b12cc78:g:Bs8AAOSwhkNe72Ep
  9. Yep corrado values have skyrocketed - I can't help but think its due to some of these large Government grant payouts due to Covid- give it a few months and they will be back on the market ? I might be exaggerating and completely wrong but I noticed a large spike in sale values as soon as the payouts started to the self employed etc. . Seen some Storms with rust sell within an hour for 10K on Facebook with no real renovation work- I'm going to try and get mine insured for 15K-20K because of the condition and parts I have on my car, and have also been offered 15k by someone but I said not for sale !
  10. Loom fotted and recaro working - thanks to EP and TD 👍 Also fitted some new belleville springs 823837057A (basically a thick washer) behind the door cotter pins and has completely transformed the stiffness of closing doors . Ready available from dealers 1 each door and 2 minute job - much better quality then the aftermarket ones. Also found this under the handbrake tunnel.
  11. Ill give you a fiver for it mate 😀
  12. Right been meaning to test the cooling system in the Rado for a while since the engine rebuild and been 30 degrees today was the perfect opportunity. For obvious reasons air blower cabin fan was turned off Car has in the last 2 year. Coolant pipes complete and clamps in bay including crack pipe. New OE thermostat sensors . x3 New hella oil cooler and OE oil switches Oil PCV valve and breather hoses New Water pump and oil pump from recent engine rebuild. Fresh OE coolant G13 and synta oil few weeks back. New Bosch Aux water pump. Aftermarket Alloy radiator Heater matrix Open 3 slat front bumper grill rather than the late one slat grill. So after a 40 minute drive in 31 degrees here are my findings for the VR. Open roads and country lanes highest temps recorded. Coolant 98 (av 92) Oil 100 (av98) Stop start traffic on way home highest temp. Coolant 104 Oil 102 Very happy with the results - pretty sure before I was seeing up to 116 for oil and fans coming on frequently passing the 100 for coolant.
  13. Mine got sold from a dealers from Scirocco close so there was probably some confusion - ha
  14. Got you chap- hey that is some time a year from inspection to sale for mine - looks like they were not selling them easily.
  15. Nice one mate never noticed it before - looks like our cars were 12 weeks apart- might of even been shipped abroad at the same time. Mine wasn't actually registered in til late February 1996 so a year apart..
  16. Ok I found it 23.02.95 . Thanks
  17. Back panel behind rear door card ?
  18. My Chassis number is SK002448 and my car came with black leather so looks like the first buyer of my car didn't want a storm . Where does my car sit in the last production year ? Cheers. Thanks mate the budget is the catch and finding some (seem to be more available in Europe especially Holland for some reason - the maths on them you can sell your interior for 1 k for a rebate or just the front seats for £500.00 so that can help out a bit. Never seen a car seat so bloomin expensive its a sod !
  19. Just incase it is 32 and 33 this is how they work slotting in together. The top border strip that sits on top of the door card- its not uncommon to see them ripped off from an untrained person destroying them to remove the door card when in fact you can just leave them be. .
  20. If its an early type with the vertical air vent slats lil fuzz (Chris Ferry) has 8 for sale in good nick £40.00 - late are a bastard to get hold of - swg would be capable of making them but there plastic finish does not look OE - they also make copies of the MK2 Votex centre console but look sickly.
  21. Damn just purchased some speed nuts and screws from bloomin latvia off ebay ha. The clip is damn weird Im trying to work it out but dont want to snap it - so odd why do they not just use the same clip in the headlight for the H3 bulb- they come up with some made stuff at vw. 👍
  22. Thanks Tony 👍plugs arrived today and they are spot on - will now be able to make the missing fuse box end- will be using a 20 amp fuse. Managed to get a centre console fitted what fiddly job so getting there with the last few tweeks. , They should have put a metal frame in the centre of the dash and then a trim that clicked on ti - far to light duty to be fair. Now one of my passenger bloomin fog lights seems to be not working - changed the bulb and still no joy - I imagine the plug connector that might be eroded Screws were very rusty that house the indicator and fog trim but managed to get them off . Going to get 8 screws N 0139649. and x8 speed nuts N90550701.
