The most annoying trees in the world the silverbirch- my neighbour has two huge ones - constantly shedding seeds - blocks the car drains - house blows in when you open the door - cabin of the car every time you turn on the blower- blocks all the drains and gutters of the house. Right pain in the ass - first part of summer shreds green powder crap everywhere- then loads and of the little brown seeds for a month or so- last off autumn all the leafs shred - pain in the ass all year grrrrr rant over - but have to clean the gutters and drains a few times a year would like to give my neighbour the bill. Not my car but would be if I left it a week. Hopefully the fuckers will die in a couple years as only live max for 60 years.

I like this channel on youtube- the USA non messing presenter has a huge habit for UK classics and basically buys everyone he can find for his collection. In this episode he collects six Sprite barn finds for himself. He is the ultimate home mechanic and even has a rolling road in his enormous man cave, tyre changer you name it. Also does a lot of will this car start after 30 years etc. Only has 13 K subscribers.

Yeah as much as they are a true specimen of an alloy the liability of owning them and enjoying them make them not attractive in some aspects - The BBS RM 4 stud are more common and can be had for £800.00 - just the polishing of them and the fact the BBS RA look great - never really had the urge to get a set but might get some RM one day. To be honest that is why I love the Vento alloys I just leave them on the car and only the odd corrado owner know what they are - sometimes less is more.

If the lucky numbers come in tonight- mind you Im a strict 16 only boring old fart https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BBS-RS301-17-X-7-5-ET33-5x100-VW-Audi-Seat/264726238074?hash=item3da2e9d37a:g:e-gAAOSwzMVet3Pj

Is a bit iffy that don't have the correct centre caps= reckon if they have been rebored it will be the ET stamp that will yield if they are bespoke 16 speedlines- google subaru 16 speedlines and find out the et and same for 16 corrado speedline and ask seller to send picture of stamps. Might even be a subaru part number on there.

That's a good price for what look like a clean set with good paint and tryes- pretty sure these were very expensive on the group buy- I would bite the sellers hand off if I needed a set.

Thanks mate have ordered a new light switch and replaced the fuse- switch is a febi one as the one oe is obsolete- looked on classics and they are selling the febi one described as aftermarket- its cool all the switches are available for the Mk2 at under £10.00 a chuck .
-
Fixed it for some reason there was an aftermarket inline fuse with a red 10 fuse and that had blown- think the inline fuse is some safety device to stop the light switch setting on fire.

Nevermind battery drain Im having a brain drain ! Now the Corrado is sorted the Mk2 CE2 played up tonight ! Had a few issues with the indicator working intermittently and changed out the relay for a Hella one a couple of weeks back and seemed sorted. So tonight sure I heard some arching behind the dash , Now not working fog light, dash illumination including clocks lights, Rear lights- registration lights - indicators and brake lights are working, The headlight switch has a couple of burn marks on a couple of the cables going into the light switch and one of the cables has what it looks like some aftermarket black tape wrapped around it - swapped out the switches for some old untested ones in the dash and didn't work I give in !

These alloys would look sweet on a Rado.

Noticed these alloys on ebay earlier and they are sister alloy to the vento cups - they are not the normal subaru 16 speedlines - think they are a very rare alloy . https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-MIM-BY-SPEEDLINE-ULTIMO-16-ALLOY-WHEELS-5X100-SUBARU-IMPREZA-RACE-RALLY/124119976668?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item1ce6208adc:g:qIkAAOSw0Vteb4xC&enc=AQAFAAACcBaobrjLl8XobRIiIML1V4Imu%2Fn%2BzU5L90Z278x5ickkp2NA0WuhQytmt4dbStg00AKa1%2FCa%2Bnt9y5Ws4C6JOub2sk7GaBqKQ3pxrgviBSvlHGdlGUFVvodwOPq9DCFVUSUfL5sajbn4JyIkJKhvOm%2BHoYua1j11UNyn3hRbxmV%2BtkUI%2B26c67FCplPGKvHTh9mn9l%2BL5A3bXgvZgM0wAQIUFW%2BE5lmxNJ7k37ryV5NgJEySgV9bfSi98PoaljKhLGcFK5giNIn9u0izORmuYyfPGSpx6jMrMpHMGaRr2x0S6VcIvPoI0FdoCYVfywd9RVEk44193iFcMIhUj0pQBoXTA7AB9r4boiCQPfgdi%2F6F7%2Bkj00ag%2FTvEEXsKvXTtLYED94lwwgtAmYzo2r7QLjiZiDuqbCx9L8I3N7fGniKp9k5QzYBav%2FLVyCogtZNlO%2BWDq71hAGgsxNitlZO8fIzMtxk4G5stUzddGAGz0PIfbgZFFTozjBsjhtoaAN9slDL1VLOc6bH%2FcrF9wkNt%2BCKI2HQC0fy1AUXhzi1IO6vSmly1WMiJbu21YJaDxiEoYtIuBPk9FuZXj5TbBpi4CqhDgjGyQodbomApj53lGLwCxF66AdWR1QBWL2pAXLAHEmS7P42g8ygHTx7TvsLiX9v%2FXlaVPDaLe1GauOcSpKg6immkb9h7ZA7%2FmR7AgGjMpRTMJz6iOTcbBWdQ86v9xxpw3ACsvb%2BNm0krG53JGOR4Kq3OgyF%2BgqKHQnDi8ytvbGZklUo1YGPsFER43Rn9psm6RDb94eu3XUhCci3vzm2LjzwYxXLHYP%2FT3jfJrykCFg%3D%3D&checksum=124119976668491242d914444b85899e3f4286717821

Thanks for all your help lads getting a lot of things fixed on my drive these days 🤘

Thanks picture showing above mate the plugs. Just electrical tape the ends chap ?
-
Thanks Sean Update I unplugged these two yellow connectors next to the dim dip. Sidelights are now working with ignition on and off - first click just sidelights - second click medium beam . So this is correct now I think guYs. Is it just best to electrical tape the yellow connectors and that is all I need to do - are there any bad side effects for unplugging these ? Thanks
-
So Dox and Sean, I have side lights working with ignition off . When ignition on and first click on switch I have low beam and side lights come on at the same time - second click same as first click . This is incorrect I think- is it best just to disconnect the dim dip resistor and if so what is the proper way of doing this - they seem to cause switches to explode anyway when they short. I imagine the only thing I wont be able to do is have dim lights with ignition off which won't bother me ? Tar.
-
Dox I have the rayne loom mate with two relays . Thanks
-
Sure I’m going round to my mate tonight who is handy with electrics 👍 By the sounds of It disconnect the dim resistor and connect some more cables .
-
Thanks from memory the first click on the switch use to turn the sidelights on - now when I do first click it puts on the medium beam light so when I second click the lights stay the same / would my mot fail on that ? Thanks
-
Are the side lights the really small bulbs in the front headlights ? Thanks .
-
Does that mean my car could fail it’s mot as only working on low and high beam and the lowest setting no longer works on mine . that was someone’ else’s switch and they reckon the dim dip resister yellow cable can short on the chassis leg and then switch starts on fire so they remove the dim resistor and the yellow cable from the switch I think
-
Could well be that to be fair .
-
Car started up again today very happy. Another question if I may- I had three settings on my headlights on the corrado very dim- normal - high beam and Vince fitted that well made uprated loom with two relays (can't think of the brand) now only has two settings normal (both first and second click of the button and high beam, the dim one (is this known as dim dip ? ) has now gone - is this ok or a mot failure- Would the headlight loom fry the yellow dim dip resistor if it was connected ? I saw a Mk2 light switch set fire on FB and they say its when the yellow dim dip cable hits a chassis leg and to disconnect it? On my golf the dim still works if that is the first setting when you press the switch in other words three different light outputs . Thanks Mk2 switch that burnt out. Would you disconnect the battery to put out the fire ?
-
That looks like a Mk2 seat rail trim clip at the hole on the back of the trim to house it to the rail .
-
Just a thought here but dont LHD have different windscreen lower trims and might house different hence another hole that would be used on LHD versions ? I know they have different wiper links so different construction for sure.
