Exactly, but you may as well just stick it up for £100 and invite offers. It does come with looms and switchgear as well by the sounds of it.

Check what the exhaust gases are like. Shouldn't be too rich/petrol smelling. Shouldn't be blue/smokey. Don't be afraid to get some of the spark plugs out, especially 1 & 6. Dead easy to find on Google what knackered spark plugs look like. Get it coasting downhill and lift off the gas - plumes of smoke out the back are usually a bad sign! :)
-
Why not just ask £100 then? It's not worth more than that I'm afraid.
-
Yeah definitely, I was going to say the same. The seller obviously expected 3 large for it. No way he's not going to have a mate bidding on it for him.
-
Take a look at the two highest bids. They are both the same but the later placed bid seems to have won it. I thought earlier bids took precedence?

You can't put a number on it, in my opinion. Some will need doing after 60k, others will run 200k+ without even a rattle. All you can do is rely on history and research what to listen/check for when you're viewing them. Chains/tensioner are usually the biggest single expense so try and get a car with a history of them being done. But again, it's not paramount. I think it would be silly to dismiss a car simply because it had 130k miles on the clock.

His seller ratings on Ebay look top notch - nothing but positives and nearly all 5 stars over the last 12 months.

Feck off bacon face  Time is money and I like making the seller work for it  To be fair, I did check the Pioneer link posted earlier and it didn't mention it on there. Just need to see how much room the Evo door pods have now ...

I'm guessing one relay does the spots and there's one relay for each of the headlights? Presumably 4 relays would be overkill? Quite tempted by that one above for the Golf - seems quite a nice OEM solution.

Could we stick to one thread in future please? I've closed your other ... http://direct.the-corrado.net/showthread.php?77342-%28FS%29-OEM-warning-triangle

Can you tell me how deep speakers are? From the mounting face to the magnet.

That's tops though! Personally I'd be loathed to stick more than £250 in it!

Exactly. As I said before, I'm not suggesting violence. I'm just putting myself into this idiot's shoes ... and if 3 or 4 guys turned up and camped outside my house, for a car I've paid nothing for, I'd just hand it back (or the cash if I had it). Sounds like he's very much a 'path of least resistance' sort of guy. -

You must be able to at least find out where it's registered? I'm not suggesting violence for a second ... but why not take 3 or 4 big friends with you and basically just turn up at his house. A lot of the time it's so easy to avoid an issue ... until it's standing on your doorstep suggesting that you may have your fingers cut off  -
:salute: Get a room ... Oh wait.

Hardcore. -
If you just wanted to get the relays inside, it wouldn't be that difficult or messy. Certainly a lot easier than running a cable to the boot for an amp for example. There's a hole in the firewall in the passenger footwell. You should be able to at least get them inside and out of view fairly easily. Although with your past scare, that might not work as you may want them accessible.
-
If you're spending that sort of money, get a VR6. You'll only regret it ;) MPG isn't going to be that much better and maintenance costs, assuming you buy a good one, will be similar. Plus don't spend your entire budget on the car itself, unless you have a decent amount of disposable income. Always worth buying and running it for a few months because there are bound to be issues no matter what you buy.

Some great info but I don't think it needs another thread in the Newbies forum. If it's an update and pictures on your car, start a Members' Gallery thread :)
