  1. Hmmm, second some thoughts here, not sure about Sony. And the price; you can get it for £107 as Joe Bloggs.
  2. Alll right, I cannot stand these standard springs; my cousin followed me in his Mk4 Turbo and said he could park his car in my wheel arches as I went round the bend. I sure do feel the roll. I had 40mm lower springs previously and had many a problem with humps & car parks. Sorry but I have to go on building sites and some of them are dodgy. As a compromise I want to get stiffer springs by either just going stiffer or getting some 20mm lowers. What would you do? What have you bought? Where can you get them for what price?? Cheers Stu [whos rather strapped £; only got £110 for his 17"ers and the CD palyers packed up too - what a week]
  3. Black 16v very low rado. Leamington. reg G***** Popped over and said hello. Seemed it was a recent buy, her first rado. Didnt know what it was until i showed her the 16v badge. Ignorance is bliss ;)
  4. Today, Birmingham A38 (M); Scirocco GT , reg: D*** OOK let him slide infront of me
  5. agree with RW1 but the VR6 doesnt look too different to a 16v box, except its in one piece. Which option is cheaper? If there isnt much in it, I'd go buy the VR6 VAG version exhaust straight off VW dealer. If the 16v option is much less, then do it. Cannot see emissions being too different. Length is same, making noise same & overburn same. OR, would you consider a Stainless Steel system? Having said that, my VAG is good, and the tail pipe is SS, so looks good too. VERY quiet - good/bad, you decide.
  6. :( Similar problem back again... The car seemed fine until i noticed it was warming up way too slowly; took more like 20mins to come up. Got the thermostat replaced. Everything seems to work fine; fan, water levels ok, oil level ok, etc. Yet driving to work the oil temp went over 118, and the water went upto about 111. Thats not good; cant imagine whats wrong; only maybe the water is not pumping around properly due to a blockage?; or that new stat not working??; but as said the fan kicked in today. Any otehr ideas?
  7. Its a Panasonic: dp800e 35Wx4 CD player ; no websites seem to have hints. Could be the radio only from now on... until i save for a newun
  8. Hmmm, will have a poke & prodd ICE -let me guess: In Car Electrics?
  9. hey, not sure if this is the right place to ask. After working on the car and having disconnected (& reconnect) the battery I went to use the CD player. The power comes on, the radio works, yet it will not take a CD off me. Any ideas what it could be? Its an old Panasonic, i can get the model number at lunch. I've tried holding in the CD button, eject button, etc. Checked the manual; theres no code for it. Just havn't got the cash to replace it.
  10. Kenilworths main high street last weekend; girl friend spotted it, said it was a dark (possibly black) M reg. I caught a glimpse, seemed tidy. So whos local to me then?
  11. Sat 23 July, 10-11pm. M69 going towards Coventry. Dark Corrado - couldnt see badge.
  12. Rear shocks & springs done too now. Much easier than the front.
  13. I forgot to mention that Locktite should be used on all the bolts you put back.
  14. Oh, and i like the clean working shop you got there; nice gloves too - prevents that dirt in the nails for 48hrs problem.
  15. Guys, these two pics are PERFECT. Is there some way we can add them to the 'How-to' I already submitted for approval? I think all 3 pics would be useful to anyone trying to do this job. I just did it last weekend without, but wish i had that blow-up diag of GIXER
  16. Neil Thats certainly a good start. Doesnt quite show the lower bolt holding on the shock, but might do for now. Never realised that was your car - seen it many a time. Love the wheels.
  17. Ahh, the start of our VW passion, the first Golf.... Mk1 GTi + BBS body kit Looked awsome back then; everything moved out the way
  18. Hey Im putting together a simple guide for replacing shocks to the front of the C, but don't have a picture. Can anyone donate a picture of the front wheel arch with the wheel removed? # cheers
  19. Best place I just bought some were direct from the makers - Signam less than a tenner for carbon letters, with the GB flag, with boarder. As they're from the factory, they are imaculate!
  20. Great, thanks. Who shall i submit them to, or can i do it my self? Request "how To" for following: 1. look after & greece my spoiler 2. check the ABS are working properly 3. How to pass your MOT would be good too :D
  21. Is there a (How to) Maintenance thread that shares tips on how to maintain your beloved Corrado? This would be really helpful in addition to the Technical forum. If you point to the Click knowledge , that seems fairly empty. And as we know the official manual costs about £90. I've got a chepo amercian version and it sucks! Simple stuff, like: looking after the spoiler, sunroof, oil filter change. etc. I can write a simple one for oil change if yu want. :?:
  22. I have a set of polished BBS, much like you see on the Mk2 golf & Scirroco. The laquor has peeled off. I polished them. I want to laquor them but dont have a compressor. Preferably selulose, not naff half'rds stuff. Anyone know of a plce that will spray them near Coventry?
  23. One front Bilstien shock fitted, but all came to a halt as the rubber stop (goes over shock rod) on the other side is split. New one ordered off VAG today. Let the work continue...
  24. Im on a roll: pollished the tail pipe to find the vw box does pollish up. 2. changed oil & filter (made note to self to buy a filter wrench) 3. pollished up the tatty bbs wheel, ready for a laquor
