  1. Again - have you changed the ignition swict and the fuel pump + ECU relays??
  2. Always replace number 7 and number 10 (the bumpstop) and get a new bolt for the bottom. You only need to worry about the metal washers if you're changing from Koni's etc back to standard as they use bigger versions for the larger thread...
  3. It's there to circulate water after the engine is shut off and also to take the strain off the heater matrix - It's a cheap enough part and I would replace it asap!
  4. That liquid metal Snap-On box makes me slightly moist... The car looks superb, really tidy install and you weren't joking about the amount of new parts on the phone the other evening! Got the clutch sorted I see - did you manage to get a new one? You were lucky with the rear brakes - could have been much worse, I'd check that torque wrench and other bolts if I were you, those allen head ones at the back should be 65Nm IIRC, maybe do them to 70. Looking forward to seeing this at a show later this year dude!
  5. Never heard of them and they are the wrong profile for VW's Get some Rainsport 2's for the same amount.
  6. It's DP21330 but the others are ok I think - just thinner (less friction material) I have a set for sale, brand new obviously - £50 posted. They have wear indicators like the VW ones but you just chop them off.
  7. Go directly to Goodridge mate - usually cheaper and better service
  8. Yeah - well worth the extra for the Kunifer (sp?) lines or even the painted VW ones - copper last about 2 years before it corrodes and seizes. I'd go straight to Goodridge for the hoses as they can supply them with stainless steel ends unlike the GSF kits - again these corrode badly compared with the original VAG hoses.
  9. No need for that mate - I just couldn't remember ok! As above - I would only run a G60 on Super or the highest Octane fuel you can find
  10. That was how it was built in the factory so makes sense, deffo take the front panel out as well.
  11. Pic would be good mate - it's not snapped off one of the nipples on the brake vac pipe (solid black pipe with a valve and 2 outlets)? There is a 4mm nylon pipe that goes thru the bulkhead to feed the clocks too. Is the carbon canister still fitted?
  12. Yeah I can never remember either but you need to as it will get worse when the weather gets hotter... Best to go for a drive with a 13mm ratchet spanner and keep backing it off until it stops pinking - mark the current position first Or... use an adjustable strobe light to measure the current advance (probably around 7-8 degrees) then set it to the factory 6 for a bit to check it's ok.
  13. I think that might be to tell you the alarm has gone off when parked?
  14. Yeah looks correct mate and it's most likely a wiring issue - the wires go very brittle where they pop thru the plastic or it could be just a plug not seated correctly... You need to remove the loom thing and then measure each of the injectors - the loom inside the plastic bit is similar on a lot of digifant cars, you're best getting a new one but I found a good one on an Audi where becuase of the way it was mounted, it showed no wear at all - I think half the problem is the G60's run so hot and there is not a lot of room for air in that engine bay.
  15. Yan, this is the pro alloy kit (Jabba sell it remember) - btw, do you have a pic of this kit with dimensions / hose outlets etc???
  16. Just get it from VW mate, they'll get the right part via the chassis reg.
  17. Yeah if it's the same as I've used it comes in a 1Ltr tin for a Shultz gun and is about £8 a can. It's so much better that anything else I've tried, dries to a solid grey primer and is thick but doesn't clog either... Looks like it can be painted over too like the original
  18. I wouldn't buy anything other than genuine VW - it's one of the most important items in the car in terms of passenger safety!
  19. Hi mate, the only one I really know of is DubSuffolk which is usually pretty good (although I've not been for months) It's the Norfolk side of Suffolk too so not too bad a drive for you boys!
  20. Not bad thanks mate - just been busy with work etc... Will hopefully start to do a few car bits and get to some shows this year now the weather has picked up a bit!
  21. It's a sensor for the brake pedal position  Does your ABS work? - if so i'd clear the code first and see if it comes back...
  22. Yes mate... At the fuel rail plug (the end of the plastic injector carrier) you should measure between 3.7 to 5 Ohms if all 4 injectors are in circuit (doesn't actually prove they are working / spraying correctly though) If you read 5 - 6.7 Ohms then you are only seeing 3 injectors, 7.5-10 ohms = 2 Inj and 15-20 ohms = 1
  23. About £50 - not too difficult but very fiddly as there is a clip at the bottom and you need a mirror to see it... It's located just below the mast cyl with 2 wires going to it - also see the MK3 Haynes manual for info.
