  1. Ah ok - so it's a standard VR running standard management / map?
  2. I don't think it uses a MAF if this is the car I think it is...
  3. If you do it again just replace the bolts I'd say...
  4. Was going to say if you've not stretched them (the 2x 90 degree turns) you'll be ok but sounds like you have? if so how did they feel the second time?? If it was the G60 id say doit again but to be honest you'll probably be ok and i'd be tempted to leave it...
  5. LOL - they always come back! Well done Gareth... I have a mint set of ZW1's for sale if you're after some winter wheels?
  6. Worth maybe giving this procedure I try maybe... viewtopic.php?f=6&t=32398
  7. The leather wheels only came with the black inserts I think, although the silver ones (as fitted to the GT / G40 polo) are only £3 or so from VAG.
  8. And you carried on driving it when you clearly had a major hydraulic issue! :?
  9. ^ Exactly, after a great first race and good British start to the season they have already managed to cause controversy and make it look even more like one of the most bias and corrupt sports we have. Was looking forward to the next race this weekend but not so sure now!
  10. Deffo VAG only - especially on a Storm! GSF / ECP / Febi etc don't last at all on Corrado's and I wouldn't even consider poly!!
  11. LOL - you weren't joking when you said it didn't fit! Got to love aftermarket parts!
  12. Worth noting that the clutch master that VW now supply has changed to a later type that requires a pedal off a Passat so might be worth looking for a Passat box instead.
  13. Probably is the right one - remember you have the bypass valves fitted so the original would have been chopped to fit these.
  14. The dealer will be able to find it for you - that's what they are there for! Alternatively use the search function on here and you will find loads of useful info... 171 721 647
  15. Same part as fitted to a MK3 Golf but I'd just buy new - only £50 ish
  16. Pressure is constant but obviously things change a bit when they heat up and G60's run very hot indeed! Reason I got you to pull on the pipe was to simulate engine movement - worth checking your mounts...
  17. Worth checking the pins inside the switch are actually making contact when you move the adjuster wheel
  18. Yeah they are meant to e re-useable with the correct tool but just cut the ears off with snips and fit new ones....
  19. ^ Yeah that's correct Gearoid, if the light comes on spuriously when moving at speed and flags a sensor error then it will usually be to do with a distorted or bent ABS ring / cage.
  20. Halfords 8mm is ok for the small bit and any fuel injection hose will do (system is only 3-4 Bar) but I would get the other two from VW though as they are moulded - I bought all 3 a few years ago for less than £50. VW now supply spring clips for these lines, fiddly to install but will put less stress on the ends of the hoses compared to the old fuel line clips as they are a constant, fixed tension.
  21. To be honest if I had a VR6 with over 100k miles on it, noisey with original chains etc I would just fit a new engine from either VW or VEGE exchange. A mate of mine is running a VEGE engine in a Vento VR and it's unbelievably quiet and smooth, you can only just here it at idle!
  22. Yeah, i'm sure it's leaking... you need to pull on the pipe slightly with the engine running but be very careful! Standard 8mm will do for that bit but needs to be the better quality stuff to bend like that.
  23. G60rc - the one you must check before driving it again is the small U shaped one at the end of the rail. As you look at the engine it's on the RHS of the head and goes to a weird triangular bracket and into the run-on sensor which has a red / brown 2-wire plug.
