  1. Just a couple more things - to 'hotwire' the ignition search for 'emergency ignition' on here - it's basically a case of making 5 wires into one, the one being the middle connector (thick wire) - connect every wire to this except the thick red/back connection (goes to the starter soleniod) - this will bring you to ignition stage 2 then you touch the other wire to the terminal to crank the starter (don't leave this plugged in!) (also make sure your out of gear / handbrake on and use the key to unlock the steering if you test drive!!!) Overheating issue could be the headgasket as it's an early G60 - newer ones got the copper gaskets!
  2. Yeah not sure about the relay but it should have the same pins as the original - is it the same part number??? I'd also change the ignition switch and the fuel pump relay too as they are probably original - switch may fix it!
  3. You can bend the arms slightly to match the profile of the screen - there is a document on the Bosch website regarding this but it's really just common sense, this is wear the late MK1 TT arms have the advantage I think... My setup is also 2 years old on the original blades and still working fine - I have noticed they don't work as well on the TDI tho as I have a Pilkington screen that seems to have a flat spot in it which the wiper jumps but i've got used to this... The above problem could also be due to screen wash (I only use the VW stuff now as it just seems better than anything else out there) or even where the car is parked or the amount of time it spends in the sun / cleaning products used etc... I'd try new blades first and see what happens
  4. Deffo - maybe just a missing weight or the fact that the tyres have worn a bit.
  5. Yep - they sound correct but i'd ring Steve direct to order - might even give you a forum discount!
  6. If you've done the oil it might be worth seeing if any fault codes are logged.
  7. Jenks - lol - It's actually parked outside a house in Falkirk at the moment, cost me £45 for 454 miles which is about 47mpg but I was doing 85 most of the way up 8) Went out in Edinburgh sat night - bars around the View complex mostly and then went for a 'quiet' night in Glasgow last night and ended up in a bar called 'the social' which was the best little club / bar i've been in for ages! Think we're just going to a club in Falkirk tonight so we can walk back etc
  8. As above - for 16v owners there is some good info on the K-Jetronic management in the current issue of Practical Performance Car 8)
  9. VR I assume... Anything changed recently - new tyres etc??? What about the rear calipers / handbrake mech - working ok??
  10. Very - try shaking the key as you turn it.... If it's the original switch then change it anyway as the new ones have been improved (polo 6N part) and only get a genuine one Could also be starter solenoid (or the connection to it) sticking but this is more likely in hot weather...
  11. Welcome to the forum. Yeah they are wrong i'm afraid, ECP always give the wrong ones for Corrado's for some reason - Corrado 4 Cyl ones are 315A (not B) TBH - your doing the right thing refreshing all the suspension parts at once BUT I really would use genuine parts if you can stretch to it otherwise you will be doing the same job again in a couple of years... Those Lemf
  12. Could be an airlock or faulty recall valves... Worth sorting before it gets really cold - especially if you end up having to change the matrix!!
  13. Awesome - http://www.dubforce.net/forums/index.ph ... opic=11864 May not be as quick as mine but certainly a tidier install as the MK3 engine uses the standard mounts etc... really nice work there!
  14. Just posting in here as I just discovered something I didn't know existed... Basically went to Maplins to get some fuses - thought £2.70 for a pack of 4 was steep but on closer inspection they have a built in LED which lights up if it blows Thought it was a bit of a gimmick so left them but now thinking they could be quite useful in certain applications / in the engine bay etc 8)
  15. Maybe just a coincidence but the screw maybe shorting something... try taking it out again?
  16. Welcome to the forum... Don't see many ABF's in the Corrado for some reason but they are an excellent engine, reliable and good diagnostics... I think they are quite tall so you may need a later C (or at least a late bonnet) All Corrado's are hydro clutch with cable change
  17. Yeah get it done before the frost / ice comes - particuarly if it goes all the way thru..
  18. Updated thread title - this isn't http://www.chav-forum.net (!!!!!)
  19. If it's clean (ie a new chip) and around the size of a 5 pence then it can be repaired, you may not even see it at all if the jobs good! Usually this is done free on insurance
  20. Not unheard of but maybe in need of some work soonish - what mileage is it on?
  21. Rad - yeah get a genuine Denso Marsden one - bit more expense but vast difference in quality!
  22. Hello, not many R32 owners on here (at least not many who have done any serious engine work) If your doing stuff this critical I would really recommend you just buy the correct engine manual from VW / ErWin etc.
  23. It's just a Girling 54 mate - fitted to loads of cars and cheap from VW as an exchange
