With both front and rear it's critical that the genuine (SKF) bearings are used on Corrado's - nothing else lasts at all... Martyn_McG - There is no torque setting!!!! VW rear bearings on MK2/3 are of the taper variety and should be done up hand tight with a split pin to stop them moving... basically do it up as tight as you can with a socket in your hand or 1/4 of a turn with a bar and then back off until you can just move the washer behind with a screwdriver but harly applying any pressure - it's tricky to get right and you may need to adjust after 500 miles but this is critical for the bearing to last! It's also critical that you work some grease into the bearings before you fit and don't pack too much under the grease cap (a common mistake)

Does the crank pulley have a woodruffe key Kev?
-
Assuming it was the spoiler that caused it to blow (likely as it was stuck up) then it's either the motor is on it's way out and drawing too much current generally (unlikely) or the mech just needs a bit of lubricaton... Could also have been frozen depending where you are?? I would just give it a good clean / re-lube and connect it back up again but keep some spare fuses on board and one of a higher ampage too if you get really stuck!

Worst thing is probably the manifold bolts at the back... Who told you it had gone then? I trust MJS more than anyone else round here... Then again any G60 over 100k is going to need a HG sooner or later but yours should already have the copper one fitted. Are you still running the OE heat exchanger?

Anyone bought a red 16V off ebay yesterday...?

Why didn't you Bid laura? -
OEM ones are SACHS I think - I have one in the garage if you want me to take a look but won't be able to until weekend now...
-
Fronts are fairly easy - you will need a g-clamp to push the pistons back... Rears are a bit more involved as you need to release the handbrake cable and also wind the piston back with a special tool

Dom, I've got a much bigger list somehwhere... FYI - I spent about a grand but didn't do any of the door deals, that was 4 years ago too and VW prices have gone up since!

Nice one Andy, want a couple of coathangers - Are they chrome?
-
Is it a Quaife? - their labour rates are pretty good as they prefer to fit their kit rather than any old muppets...

Only visible check is to compare with the rest of the plugs really... then test compression.

Worth giving him a call Ross - he may have it saved under your reg...

Stealth use a Beissbarth machine - most big VW/Audi dealers have these...

Yeah the oil ones leak thru the sender itself (the metal and plastic delaminate) so maybe... Fairly dangerous tbh matey so I wouldn't drive until fixed...

Alloy wheel damaged. Claim from Council?
Supercharged replied to Saint Tricky's topic in General Car Chat
Yep - report it (or get your mrs / mum / pet hamster) then have the accident a couple of days later (before they fill it obviously) -
Anyone know of suppliers for these, basically want same as OE VW Bolts but 15mm longer for use with spacers on VW wheels... Some on eBay but none of the suppliers seem to know what strength grade they are which is worrying! Searching on CGTI says 'www.trackstore.co.uk' but they don't seem to exist now...
