  1. Yeah, it's just bad advice really... Do you know what was actually fitted?? - if they were 4.8's I wouldn't even drive the car until changed!!!
  2. You get the suspension nuts but i would buy new bottom bolts plus the 3 small BJ bolts unless these were changed when we did the BJ's recently???
  3. Yep - you could try a specialist bolt place but they won't be much cheaper plus you will get the wrong socket size and not the built in shoulder plus anti-corrosion coating...
  4. It's the tensile strength i'm worried about, most I have seen in B&Q is 8.8 - VW use 10.9 on brake components and 12.9 on Suspension!
  5. Get MAF sensors directly from Bosch - £150 exchange Thats not right, I've bought loads before and they are a couple of quid max with the nut - I'd be very worried about using B&Q ones unless they say 12.9 on them!!!
  6. I'm sure they were smalled but the power wire will be red and the earth will be brown and i think these are the outer ones so it's the middle 2 you want... Maybe just the needles dropped off the gauge?
  7. Mer conditioner is the only one i've found to work well!
  8. Did you pay by Paypal?? - they cover buyers pretty well tbh
  9. Yep - thats where I buy all mine from!
  10. Looking for a blue/white wire Nick but I thought it was already in the ISO loom
  11. Thats the best thing to do but those dipples seem to stay once they are there as the leather stretches quite easily I'd be wanting a large chunk of money back for those missing bits - both very expensive and hard to buy seperatly!
  12. Sump gasket or oil filter housing to block maybe...
  13. Yeah it's not very clear but just to confirm he means the UJ between the steering column and rack.
  14. Thats ok but really the scissor jacks are really 'emergency only' and not really built to be used very often at all... Never ever get anywhere near underneath a car with one as they can explode / fall over
  15. Got to agree with Kev, I've had nothing but trouble and expense with rebuilt alts and recon'd starters over the years... VW exchange prices for new stuff aint bad at all - just stick it on an interest free CC
  16. I'm afraid i think you might struggle to get a bottle jack under the Corrado dude! Might be worth taking it back and swapping for the 2 tonne they do - the one in the box is useful!
  17. Looking at the pump end (under the black cap in the boot) there is a plug, take this off and locate the 2 pins with the smaller wires that go to the gauge (the other 2 are fatter as they are power) Now look at the corresponding pins at the pump side (sender assembly) and measure resistance across them Reading full to middle to empty you should get 35 Ohms - 90 Ohms - 285 Ohms If you don't get the above and want to see if the gauge works then maybe stick a 100 Ohm resistor into the plug (60W light bulb should be about right for this)
  18. He's having a 'gg7aph'... ...I'll get my coat
  19. I think the DSG box ECU is actually on the gearbox itself with all the sensors etc running into the box - something not right about a gearbox with electronics inside it!! Awesome bit of kit tho - saw one at Quaife a few weeks back and they're already developing parts for it!
  20. But they were for sale for £80 were they not? TBH I think it's a bit off paying only £60 for a set of good wheels - £80 is dirt cheap and you'd get £50 down the scrap yard!
  21. Kick down is bassically a button on the bottom of the throttle pedal, when you floor it it drops a gear and rev's further (depending on what revs / gear your in etc) - it's ECU controlled but fairly basic... If you want a real 'kick' tho buy a G60 - loads of good ones for sale recently!
