Bucket of hot water - or strip down the rear brakes...
-
Jesus - Glad your doing ok! - heard about a few of these matrix induced injuries but not directly on this forum - just proves why fitting a new VW one and having the bypass valves is so important! Out of interest had your car had the original recall?? (you won't need the valves now with the new MK3 part)
-
Yep, All Corrado's have heated jets as new but you'll be lucky of you still have a working original pair now - easiest way to find out is to stick a multimetre accross them... As above tho, you don't really need them in the country and i've changed mine for standard ones and always use the VAG screenwash as it's cheaper and much better than anything else - never had one freeze up yet!
-
I think the 288 refers to the diametre of his brake discs dude!
-
Those original round clips are about 10p from VW but as above you will need a peice in the middle if corroded / broken The shield itself is not that much either but need to drop the box to fit...
-
Shouldn't be any sealant! Just some white plastic clips and plastic grommets - you will need new ones!
-
I was going to say plug the original into VAGCOM but this probably won't tell you if it's that dead... A 93 VR won't have a factory imob but we need to know if it's a coilpack or dizzy engine
-
Are you aloud to do this??? I always thought power had to be inside and petrol / brake fluid underneath???
-
£11-£17 each (kit) depending on what discount you can wangle...
-
Anyone got any experience of the above additive??
-
Hi, does anyone know the difference between the early and late (93 on) Clutch Master Cylinders?? Most (but not all) of the later cars i've driven have a light clutch so wonder if the Late cyl is a different size for some reason... The later one if more 'stubby' compared to the early but looks like it would be a direct replacement - just can't find any tech specs on it...

If the ECU's full of water it will do all worts of strange stuff!
-
Either try and jump it or take the battery to Halfords for a check.
-
Thats the Pedal Position sensor under the Master... Steve - have you had any leaks recently (matrix / windscreen) and checked the ABS ECU for corrosion / water damage?
-
That sensor is a blank on UK cars - I think it was for the 170BHP US Market cars only becuase of higher emmision controls... Where did your car originate?
-
GPC - £55 ^ Hover mouse over red writing above for more info!

Changing late spec interior for early spec...............
Supercharged replied to NomoreGT4's topic in Interior
The early trim doesn't have holes for the window switches in the pods but you could use Audioscape late pods on early cards... Early trim was either Petrol (dark grey / green / Purple) or Platinum (same pattern but light grey) -
Maybe a bit late now but couldn't you claim on insurance??
-
Flusted - what did you do with this evenually??
-
Battery Nicki! Have you tried another? it's the right time of year for weak batterys to show up :- slow turnover = lack of cranking amps
-
Could be handbrake adjustment?
-
How are the ones Jim?? were the carriers ok?
-
Scrap yards in London/Essex area anyone....?
Supercharged replied to vdubs4life's topic in Suppliers Forum
There is a good one in Chelmsford IIRC but don't know the name... -
Rear brakes can be strange, I suspect they may be ok after a few hundred miles but could be the compensator is not correctly adjusted - try an emergency stop! Did he bleed then pump the brake pedal then connect the handbrake cable? - this might help things if he didn't!

^ Deffo... a 180k MK4 won't be an upgrade and it's not a PD engine either.... MK4's also seem to go thru suspension components every 60k rather than 80-100k Like MK2's/3's but obviously it depends what has / hasn't been done...
