Corrado Recaro sub frames and rear seat mk2 fitment
Supercharged replied to Sc0rian's topic in Interior
Yeah they were apparently but he's not getting them now - they seemed a good price on german eBay until we discovered that they are trimmed in imitation leather... But... I am now interested in this as i have sourced some Fiat Tipo recaro's that look identical to the Corrado ones so i just need to know how they are mounted...? -
Can't find them?? - 20p from VW

Can anyone help ???? (Oil for my TDI?)
Supercharged replied to Storm_VR6's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah - it was only becuase it was on special offer - usually £15 for 2 litres... I use Quantum PD oil - it comes in a silver container but has a red label... I don't think yours is a PD tho by the sounds of it.... -

Yeah GSF are quite expensive now for Oil, usually cheaper at the dealers if you get a bit of discount and sometimes get the free filter too... Woolworths were selling Magnetec 10W-40 for £3 (2 Litres) but not sure yo'll find any left now... If it is a PD then i am using Quantum Synta PD Oil which you can get from VW dealers but if they don't stock it you may have to buy a box of 4, I get mine for about £15 each (GSF sell it for £25) -
... or a 'Woolworths Workshop' flexible extension

Probably means they are at the end of there life tbh (starting to seize)

lottysvdub, just copy and paste the other one in here - the reason it was locked is that it related to this one and there is information / history already in this thread that may be useful in helping to cure the fault.

Advice on lumpy, erratic 2.0 16v - being a bit crap again..
Supercharged replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
Try a couple of new relays Jim - it's just water corrosion -
The bearing can be replaced in the tensioner if caught in time...

Corrado Recaro sub frames and rear seat mk2 fitment
Supercharged replied to Sc0rian's topic in Interior
So what are the non electric Corrado recaro's mounted on?? - ie are they the same as normal Corrado seats? -
Yeah, it's a great colour but every other mk3 golf I see round here is Mystic Blue - it's like they had to buy a set amount, paint 125 Corrado's and the get shot of the rest...

Strange noise after timing chain has been replaced
Supercharged replied to VEEDUBHEV's topic in Engine Bay
I think VW would use the MK4 parts as thats what you get if you buy a full exchange VR6 engine... -
You can but VW would not recommend it (on any car) TDi's needs some serious cranking amps to start, best off either getting a new battery or at least charging it or getting breakdown out?
-
Vauxhall make the actual plug magnetic.... ... but then again the engine is made by vauxhall
