Welcome to the forum! Change the cap on the expansion tank - especially if the old one is black (new ones are blue - £5 from VW)
-
You can order a new unit from VW for a LHD - about £25 IIRC...
-
Hmmm - yeah I think if it's grounding out then best to go up a bit in the suspension department!
-
Heater controls/cigarette lighter - don't light up..
Supercharged replied to Trig's topic in Interior
Yeah - cig lighter is easy to check - just stick a meter on the pins an the bottom (no need to take bulb out to start will) -
I think methalated spiritits is the best thing to remove silicon but not sure if it will affect the paint or not...
-
It should give you them on the site if you select VW Corrado...
-

Was going to be a pollen filter write-up but hit a problem..
Supercharged replied to aclwalker's topic in Interior
Phil, you want to speak to Neil at Ipswich Audi mate - he is the man for parts! There was never a pollen filter for the C execpt for maybe A/C models but the mk2/3 golf one sort of fits I think... -
It's here (sorry I thought it was in the engine section buts its not...) http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.p ... _4_Cyls%29

I know who Jim is but who is this Henry bloke? Right, I thought I had to remove the pump in order to remove the plastic baffle and to fit the windage - apparently you can just rip the plastic thing off and the tray would fit round the pickup but I couldn't work out how at the time and the pump is only 2 bolts and you can clean the pickup mesh when it's off... Priming it is just a case of sticking the pickup in a load of fresh oil and turning it so picks up some oil so it doesn't go in empty... Flexible extension is a good idea to get the old one off and the Shrek sumps come with allen head bolts - halfords do some long ball ended keys which are great as they have this snap-fit thing that holts the bolt as you locate it, I used this to start all of mine off as getting the sump and windage tray holes lined up is a bit of a ball-ache... Hope this helps but I stuck most of the info in the wiki article...

I've not really had time to test it really to be honest but the oil is like water after chaging the old one out as I got all the old oil out the mocal and drained and re-primed the pump...

Yep, nice bit of kit - bit of a pain to get in place (heavy)

car starts then stops ??Where are you OBE (RW)1?
Supercharged replied to STORM 2's topic in Engine Bay
The plastic switch is just behind the barrel in the back of the lock housing - worth a pop at £20 as they go wrong anyway - you can test it without actually fitting it. -
There is a guide to fitting it in the KB

Oh and by the way, these filters are well worth it if your a hay fever sufferer - I was getting it really badly earlier in the year and since the filter has been on i've not had it at all (in the car anyway) -

It comes as part of the windscreen but should come off ok - I wonder if you have to take the other sections and wipers off first... I fitted a Jetex pollen filter ok to mine without removing it tho but it was a bit of a squeeze - the plastic bit does go back ok and into shape - depends how much room you need really... -
Welcome to the forum... maybe worth checking your engine and ecu earths,,,
-
Yeah i think so - copper conatcts corrode, get dirty and also bend with wear so it may only be making contact at stage 1...
-
Could also be a stciking starter soleniod - locate it and hit it very hard with a bar or something but be careful not to damage the wiring...
-
I'd check the switch contacts first...
