Have you changed / tested the oil pump?
-
car pumping fuel after run with key out filling the inlet
Supercharged replied to GazzaG60's topic in Engine Bay
Hmmm - might be worth doing an oil change anyways... -
Had this on a mk2 once and solved it but taking the stalks off and putting them back on again, I seem to remember the horn also didn't work but did after I'd finished... think it was just a bad connection or earth leak...
-
I like those MK3 Scirocco's...
-
Lippy, take Dazzys advice above and just change the ignition switch and the fuel pump and ecu relays (all cheap critical parts) Also I assume you've checked the battery connections, earths etc...
-
Wrong wattage bolbs in the fogs?? should be 55w...
-
Is it a late VR - if so then a 40mm kit will drop it 60 if you see what i mean...
-
Corrado VR6 lines are the same fitting - not banjo... only the later golfs (over here anywyay) got the 288's with the banjo lines. You got a good pic of the caliper at all mate??
-
Take that shelf off and try it... If it persists then check your fluid level and look for signs of the slave leaking on top of the gearbox, they original slaves are metal sleeved inside so eventually corrode especially if the fluid is not changed reguarly.

G60's are covered in a slightly de-tuned from (158BHP) The only other engine covered is the SLC (VR6) Can we be careful not to discuss piracy on here, the book is only £50 from amazon.ca

Moving... -
Yes - It's now superceded with a 6N polo part
-
Yeah it's just on the scuttle near the wiper mech - there looks like there is something like a plastic cover missing but it's not - the vin is also just stamped on a primered strip, again thats normal Good luck in your search!

Drivetrain? Moving to suppliers
-
VW - £18

bristolbaron, lol at your avatar...

nickeboy, nice one - did you get that bolt out? If you didn't and you can get a socket on it (I know it's an allen head) I can recommend Irwin Bolt Grippers (machinemart/eBay) - really good at removing any shape bolt / head as long as you can get on it...
-
nickeboy, the 5th sensor is for the brake pedal position (BPPS) - located under the master cyl on the servo. nah I've never had a mk1, a few mk2's tho... just have a craving for a mk1 at the mo... ']['H3R4POR - they must have been the wrong sensors then as I've not fitted a rear but every one i've seen comes with the loom attached - thats why they are so expensive, the muppets at GSF/Euro probably just think they're the same as the fronts...

heater blower not working (am i doing the right thing?)
Supercharged replied to randomist's topic in Interior
If the resister has gone it should still work at stage 4 (no resistance) It may be the copper contacts on the switch need cleaning/bending or just simply the plug has come off or a fuse blown... I'd have a look at it before spending any cash... -
Yeah - ECP were about £10 cheaper than GSF when I bought one for a mate a few weeks ago but if you are a CCGB member you get 10% off at GSF which will make it about the same...

G60 lightened fly wheel??? what you think??
Supercharged replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in Engine Bay
Does the R use the dual mass fly? -
I don't think GSF or ECP do them - they are about £70 from VAG... I think it has to be that as it comes with a cable attached so where you took the reading from (under the seat) is the only place it plugs in... I've not changed one but I don't think they're too bad to do from what I have heard... Someone at BVF had one for sale - might have been Paul Kippax (KIP VW)? Your ABS ECU will retain the faults but it will work after it's changed ok without clearing them with VAGCOM, just at the moment it fails the startup test as one of the 5 sensors is down so the light stays on and hence the ABS is disabled.
-
ABS fuses are behind the glovebox...
-
I think it just stops you getting shocks off the car (static build up) They are about £7 from VAG or £2 from your local motor factors - which will probably last longer to be honest...
-
Mark - do you ever drive in the rain? I do think over £80 is excessive but it's a safety item and like the headlight loom I would consider it a must before doing anything else, I was quite lucky to get the Lupo set conversion for about £33 when it was available... (GPC sell these for £60 +vat now)
