  1. I'd have thought they would have checked the tracking at least if it was that bad... Worth getting it 4 wheel'd before new tyres anyways - there is a really good tyre place in Skipton which sorted my Golf a few years back - can't remember what it was called but it was a chain - maybe national tyres? - very good service anyway!
  2. Should have the 8014 stamped on it... No worries...
  3. What about new VW ones with the black plastic caps?
  4. willg95vr6, you will have a 70ltr tank - the clocks should show 15 Gallons as opposed to 12 for the 55 version.
  5. Hmmm - somethings not right here then - the 8014 does not fit over it? The 8014 is the bigger size - does it actually have that stamped on it - spline should be 45mm, how big is the one on the car? 3 Legged pullers can be got from any tool places really...
  6. Welcome to the forum! I don't know much about the 2.0 16v i'm afraid but as you are fairly close I would recommend taking a trip over to Southam to see Stealth Racing.
  7. Welcome to the forum! Is it a Momo one?? It should be part number 8014 for '90 onwards... If you have the early one (8010) it can be fitted if the splined adapter is removed with a puller but easier to buy the correct one... The sizes are 45mm late and 26mm early I think
  8. Did you clear them Eric?
  9. Thats exactly what we mean - rather annoying isn't it! Stealth managed to move mine up a notch without taking them off using a pillar jack with the car on a lift - I tried and failed with spring compressors.. You could cut the bumpstops thru the springs with a long knife but if they've just been put on then everything should come apart fairly easily again...
  10. Spykee, the paint was propbably sprayed on over the circlip, Koni do the same...
  11. What springs are they?? Also what dampers as the Koni TA's are height adjustable at the back?
  12. The seized compensator can make the handbrake crap but Mk4 rears are the way to go... I would have thought they'd have just free'd the compensator up when doing the MOT tho - this has been done for me several times over the last few years with Golfs as well as Corrado's - sounds a bit picky if thats all it failed on!
  13. Sounds like the ignition timing wasn't set up properly - take it back...
  14. BTW - I think there is a torque setting plus 1/2 a turn... (check this, don't take my word for it!) Did you use new bolts?
  15. Does it turn freely by hand?? Just wondering if you put too much of that stuff on them and it's blocked the oil pump pickup?

    RH Cupraders

Not sure if the Cup rader is still made - wicked wheels tho!
  17. The for sale thread never made it onto the forum because Jay didn't put up a fixed price  - same rules for everyone you see!! Anyways Jay - I think your mad for selling such a superbly finished car but if it's for a 911 I think we can make an exception! I would like to know how much it fetched tho - for something so unique with the amount of work thats gone into it I would value it at £25k altho I know realistically it would be unlikely to actually sell for that amount but if it went for anything less than half that then someone has got a serious bargain. Hope you stick around Jay 8)
  18. [stupid question time] So how do people make these 2.0+ G60's - 85+mm pistons or different blocks or am I missing something like the throw is increased or counting extra space in the piston crown / head etc??
  19. Is the fuel pump also running too?
  20. I agree with cleaning an existing one of it seems ok but I know i'd rather buy a new one of needed than fit some rusty autojumble lump... Kev bought a new one recently - was about £200 i think...
  21. Probably fancied you Jim
  22. This is a MK2 one tho Dom - £25
  23. Had a new windscreen recently?
