  1. I'd never remove a working PAS system from a Corrado, it's weighted really well and alot better than systems on many modern cars...
  2. Yeah, it's normal paint but goes dull due to that plastic strip at the bottom of the door wearing away at it... What I want to know is what to do to create the mottled effect on the sill itself and what paint / underseal to use?
  3. Erm, yeah it will need a fair bit of work to look like the original, if it's a good body shop (not an accident repair centre type place) they should be able to do it but you have to weigh up the cost against a new bumper, especially if the cover is available seperatly which it is on some passats. My mums mk3 Golf needed a new one after someone ran into the back of her and it was the full colour coded sort, the first one they bought was a standard one and they just painted it, looked awful, they next sanded it down and painted again - still looked sh1t and I demanded a new one. They next got a GTi one with the textured top to match the arches (on the GTi, ours was a CL) - asked me to 'inspect' it and I came down to tell them it was the wrong one again, finally got the correct one from GSF and sprayed it up, looked ok until they put it on the car and found that it had melted in the oven - (they told me the first one was from VW and I later found out the other party's insurance who were paying told them to use pattern parts!) - finally got the correct genuine one and it's been fine even since... tw@ts.
  4. The foam doesn't seem to be listed for the Recaro's and they are different to the mk2 version (much smaller) - maybe try Recaro direct? Cable ties are a good replacement for the metal clips and easy to tighten.
  5. PaulV, welcome to the forum! 1001 comes in a bottle that you mix with water and it creates foam, use a sponge to apply the foam, it works really well and you can scrub really dirty areas but be careful not to get the lining too wet...
  6. My mate also used a B reg so he could get rid of the side repeaters, he was also told by some muppet that the shell was old enough that it could be re-registered as a new car - this sadly wasn't the case...
  7. I used an Eezi-Bleed kit, worked a treat on both the G60 and mk4 TDi engine.
  8. Doesn't Exturbo work for the AA - maybe he can get a discount...
  9. Just get one from VW if you can mate - same with the temp sensors, much better quality
  10. I'd normally say no and stick with the G-lader as they are reliable as long as they are looked after... but, seeing as you have 2 G60's Andy, i'd be tempted to try it out and if you don't like it i'm sure you'd recoup the £200 fairly easily...
  11. N75 then it sounds like...
  12. BeavisJem, do you mean the plug on the red/black cable to the soleniod? - if so yes and they're not much.... check your engine mounts too....
  13. Welcome to the forum - are you sure the thermostat is opening and the fan still coming on when it should?
  14. Try shaking the key from side to side in the barrel when it won't start... Make sure you buy a genuine switch, pattern ones are poo...
  15. Unlikely as i'm not sure it was even an option over here especially in 93, only Corrado's i've seen with bags are the late german ones.
  16. VR's got the later sort so also same as later G60's - they are cheap enough brand new tho... £20 over here...
  17. Lack of torque - you could try another maf is you know someone local with a VR?
  18. How does it feel? A dead cam sensor will make it run 30bhp down...
  19. Should be whats known as a 2x2 connector - 2 plugs, 4 wires...
  20. Under the gearstick surround, you may not have one tho if you don'ty have abs fitted as thats all it's really useful for...
  21. As above please contact... Henry Catchpole Staff Writer Evo Magazine 02079076319 Car will need to be unmodified or at least appear to be so (ie OE exhaust and suspension)
  22. Welcome to the forum, Check out http://www.corradoclub.org - membership will give you 10% off at GSF You will also need to get to know your local VW dealer tho as several parts are dealer only and there are others that you want to stick to genuine rather than pattern like bushes, mounts etc to keep the handling of the corrado as good as it was originally... There is also a company called GPC who sell genuine stuff at good prices - they are particuarly good for trim and body panels etc...
  23. Hi Ross, I also had this after changing one of the fronts and I solved it by changing the other side too - the new one was a different make to the original and didn't seem to match, been fine ever since... not sure about the gapping tho and this does sound a likely cause to i'd check it first...
  24. I don't think those spark testers work with VW's as they need plugs with the clips screwed on the top and the leads to match - the VR maybe different with it's smaller plugs tho??
