Buy new housing and bolts etc... Fairly sure the LHD ones would be the same... (Darren didn't answer the SAMCO question as he remembers fitting mine )
-
You check the plug and the other connections to the starter and battery terminals?? Try a new ignition switch before spending cash on the starter - do the lights on the dash flicker at all if you wagle the key in the lock? The original issue may be something else - overfueling casuing the engine to flood and cut out, then not restart easily... I think that you may have just broken the switch frantically trying to restart it in traffic etc... (sounds unlikely but i'd put money on it!)

Yeah, you need to find out if it's engine oil of PS fluid... It could just be oil dripping off the subframe from the oil change if it was fairly recent... G60 oil fiters are in the most awkward place!
-
A knackered motor will draw large amounts of current....
-
Yep, Karrman built them the same way they currently do the crossfire... they bolt the subframe, drivetrain, engine and exhaust straight up to the freshly painted shell... With VR exhausts you can the middle and backbox together I think as a catback replacement...
-
Check the belt tightness and condition first off... If you can unscrew the pack the brushes should be about 1cm I think... these packs are about £10 from any autoelectrician. Also measure the voltage across the battery with the engine running... should be between 13.8 and 14.5

Whereabouts it the reverse light switch you disconnected... just wondering as i had this problem on a mk3 polo, never managed to fix it but all was ok after a gearbox change...
-
Yeah, that price is superb comsidering they are practically brand new... the pads can be used also as the sensors can just be cut off, you will also need the goodridge hoses and 6mm spacers... Alan - depends what size wheels your going to run but either way i'd upgrade to the newer calipers and the pads are huge, go 288 then move up to 312 if you get bigger wheelage (or what Kev is doing - swapping between the sizes for summer /winter wheels)
-
mosley, welcome to the forum... The top mounts come as a kit for the VR - rubber dohnut and bearing... either they have been fitted incorrectly or the bearing has failed... either way take it back to where yo got them done, did they use genuine VAG ones??
-
Torque steer?? Have you only just noticed this happening or had the power upgraded recently (chip and pulley) or new tyres?? Just wondering if it's a new problem or not - still maybe just torque steer but amplified by a knackered mount or bush as you say...
-
Here you go... also note that if you do away with the H/E you'll also need the part i've highlighted along with the 2 mk1 water hoses...
-
Yep, it's a big un... hold on a min and i'll post a pic...
-
check yer vac hoses...
-
Don't know what those brackets are for but maybe useful for mounting an oil cooler maybe?
-
Yep, sounds right - you need to comapare the size of yer boot with another Corrado...
-
I gotta see this car - does it look like the one above, lol! Only the G60's and the VR's got 280mm (wasn't even an option on the 16v's) I suspect they've been upgraded at some point but I'm fairly sure you should have got a 15" spare regardless unless your car came with 14's...

205/40/17... There are loads of tyre discussions on here, just have a search...
-
Welcome to the forum... You'll need to take the bumper off and the radiator bolts but yeah it's fairly straight fwd... The earlier one will probably fit if it has too but you'd be better getting one off the same year as yours - the differences to look out for are the radiator mounting holes and the holes for the front grill...
-
Ah - the haynes manual is refering to the Heater Matrix (the interior radiator) Me and VEEDUBBED are talking about the OE heat exchanger, small box shaped object that the oil filter goes onto...
-
The brake and clutch reservoir are the same, there is a line to the clucth MC from it so never let it get low... yes Dot 4 is the stuff. The other one is for the power steering, make sure only the green VW fluid goes in here - VW racks don't like the red ATF fluid that is used in other cars power steering systems
-
Thats right, just an O ring I think - makes it easier if you take them out while the engine is still warm...
-
Oh and the tank - the later round ones and a pressure release valve in the cap ( can also cause problems and new ones a less than a fiver from VW) I assume you have an early one and they must have the valve in the tank and the caps are just small screw on jobbys?
-
Ok, AFAIK the heat exchanger will be between the oil filter and the block, I think all mk2's had them but you may not if it's a very early one... I think they are about £30 new from GSF so ECP should do them, I think you can take them apart and even change the gasket so you should be able so tell is it's knack'd... It's function is to pre-heat the cooling system I think but they're not regarded as being very efficient, The other option is to buy the 2 water hoses from a mk1 to bypass this (what most G60 owners end up doing to make oil changes easier)
-
2 places oil and water can meet - headgasket and heat exchanger... Check the heatexchanger first! Was the coolant clean before?? - could also be just thermostat stuck closed...

We've got a G60GAZ, GazzaG60 and G60_Gazza Also Gazman but he's a mate of mine and owns a VR (has not had a G60)
