What sort of mods required to get a VR6 upto 220/230 bhp
Supercharged replied to V3DUB's topic in Engine Bay
Shrick VGI/VSR and Cams should go at least 220 on a healthy block. -
The Bosch silicon ones Halfords sell are as good as any IMO
-
No pics here but can get them over w/e if needed, you are basically looking for the things with an electrical connection to them, not hard to locate once you have the wheels off..
-
You must have been desperate!

Yep, Halfords Pro socket set, ratchet spanners, Torque wrench, Tool chests and a few other bits - biggrim, your right they don't cover the ratchets like Snap-On do but you can but a repair kit for not much...
-
Red one in melton last night...
-
Will move this to suppliers... Please also bear in mind that this will increase your insurance premium.
-
Yeah - have to have mine set up on the new kit next time i'm there... How long did it take to do yours??
-
H8RRA, yeah I agree, especially that in a total loss situation they also end your policy with them too!
-
Yep, just to confirm the LATE G60's have the same 4 Bar as the VR
-
They are about £10 from VAG, not too difficult to change but you obviously need to remove the inlet manifold(s) and you'll need some spline keys/sockets to remove the cable management guides... Use a slight amount of oil on the gasket when you swap them over and make sure it's seated correctly (it doesn't help the fact that they come all twisted up in a bag!) Do up the bolts loosly from the outside towards the midle from opposite sides (hope that makes sense) and I think the torque setting is 11Nm (can someone confirm this?)

Nah, there usually stamped on the engine itself! :D
