Hmmm, do they mean take the internals out of the pipe? or replace the cat with a bypass pipe? Is your existing Cat dead or loose inside?? what engine type and year of car do you have??

Removing sensor cover for access to thermostat
Supercharged replied to Dan_Storm's topic in Suppliers Forum
You could buy a set of round head long allen keys, the round head allows them to be used at an angle (of upto about 45 degrees) -
Your just being silly now Kev, think you need to grow up a bit and come back when your ready to talk seriously about cars......

Mighty white is a good compromise, I like a bit of smoked salmon in my brown bread, I also find this helps with sound deadening.

Def the slave cylinder then, just buy it from VW, genuine part and only £28 with partsclub (if you are CCGB member) - part is the same as mk3 glofs also. - sounds like the linkage also needs tightening, but change the slave asap and keep an eye on your fluid until its done, may also improve reverse if you remove the carpet mat if you have to drive the car and I would carry some spare fluid around also

TwatVR6, thanks for your coments, i'm sure Jim will find them useful when styling his mk2. FYI - there is no such thing as southern monkeys... Northern monkeys yes but we are all Faries down here! (hmmm that doesnt sound any better....)

Were they the ones that couldn't be bothered in the end to turn up to the CCGB national day?

At 121k they will be well past there sell by date, would get new shocks, top mounts, bumpstops etc. Koni TA's and H&R springs seem to be the best choice from other peoples experience and they lower the car by about 25-30 mm which looks spot on!

300 Miles(amended) / Litre(of engine oil that is)
Supercharged replied to Corvr6's topic in Suppliers Forum
Coolant temp sounds fine now but I would cut the slats anyway before the summer... Defo a prob with the oil temp tho!! - dead or blocked oil cooler i would say. -
Have a search for ISV - the Idle valve may need cleaning out... Or, If you are actually having to pull the pedal up then the throttle cable maybe to tight and not switching the ISV on??

Sounds like the motor but check the nut is tight on the spindle first

Yeah, I also have 2 Jetta lights lying about but to be honest they look pants compared to the Rallaye - you also need the grill rail. I had the Rallaye grill on my mk2 for about 6 months but sold it before I broke a headlamp (not cheap and no replaceable lenses like the corrado items), grill also very pricey - I had a proper german lhd one so had to drill out the locking bit from the slam panel and fit one from a golf (the reverse) - did look the nuts tho! The Corrado light conversion is cool but alot of work i think and to be honest doesnt look that different from the above setup. If I had a mk2 now I would stick with single crystal clear lights (sigle lights look great on big bumpers) or maybe 4 angel eye's on a twin lamp setup, these lights will be dirt cheap at inters this year.

Tesco have a sale on brown bread at the moment, just bought two loaves of Kingsmill for 49p.

Hmmmm, same fuse as far as i know but check them anyway, the control unit is very close to the switch, I would check the connections first, reseating and cleaning the plugs.

It amazes me how VW don't change them!! the word 'filter' to me means something that needs replacing reguarly, its easy to access and cost about a fiver!

BHP/Torque gains for fast road cams and gas flowing head?
Supercharged replied to Leonard's topic in Engine Bay
Agreeing with Kev... That sort of head work is worth it on a G60 as you could quite easily see 200bhp, maybe 220 with a charger upgrade, chip and pulley... its alot more tunable engine from standard that the VR. I think thats the main reason the G60 has kept up with the image of the VR6 engine in the corrado world. The only thing they could improved on the VR is fit the VGI as standard, its a good bolt on upgrade but not a huge amount extra for the £, I think if you are bored with the VR power then forced induction is the way to go (alot of wonga but biggest power gain) - a few supercharger kits are available and from what I have read they are fairly reliable, depending on the kit you could see 250 - 270 bhp and a bit more torque as well after a good custom map. Another benifit is that they are also a bolt on upgrade and can be reversed in a hour or so and no need to lower compressions etc altho it maybe an idea to get the head checked and gaskets uprated on older, higher milage cars? -
Noise will be the pump but try changing the fuel filter first (as VW don't have a set interval for this and I don't think it had ever been done - 82k) I changed mine after advice from G60Jet and it went alot quieter again!

Check to boot / glove box lights arn't being left on, disconect stereo and / or alarm to rule them out...

were to get spigot rings for alloy wheels
Supercharged replied to brian g60 corrado's topic in Engine Bay
As Henny said, you will feel it!! - I got a set of wheels for my mk2 and the rings that came with them would not quite fit on the hubs so I had to drive the car 5 miles to my mates workshop to get them bevelled down to size, I reached 50mph and you could feel the vibration, not a good experience!! -
On the subject of mounts, Turn2 have a 20% off sale at the moment, I just ordered a Gbox mount which works out at about £17 after shipping.
-
Yeah back of the seat seems best, you don't want it one the floor incase of a leak! If you have a subbox in the boot you could attach it to the top of it with some sticky back velcro if you don't want to screw it down.
-
If its the original VW ones then you should still be able to get a replacement, not sure what info they will need tho... maybe chassis number?? Sone tyre places will have kits or universal tools to get them out...
