  1. Most people get away with using a pair of needle nose pliers or you could make one from a long reach socket
  2. Yeah, thats what I don't like - Inconsistency between the dealers and even between the different parts people at the dealers... Luckily a guy at my local one is fairly good and because I've been using them for nearly 5 years I can order over the phone finding my own part numbers on ETKA, next day delivery and partsclub prices or 15% on anything else paying when I pick them up. The only probelm is they have just employed some young twet who will have none of it and is no use at all over the phone- real arrogant little shite! Bassically if dealers won't give discount for enthusiasts, take your business elsewhere!
  3. I think Mike Edwards has done this then just collects the parts from his local dealer - maybe he can shed some light on how this works?
  4. I use iTunes from Apple - very good and well designed piece of software and completly free download.
  5. Yeah, sounds fine - check the prices against the ones on the partsclub list in servicing
  6. Yup, make sure the ampage on the wire and fuse is high enough for what your doing, you don't want a fire in the boot! Also remember there needs to be a switch lead (usually blue) along with the rca leads to the head unit
  7. I think thats whats causing it to jam then, you need to look at the allignment, I think it can be adjusted by the allen bolts that hold the spoiler to the mech
  8. hmmm, is the spoiler straight, ie parallel to the boot as it comes down??
  9. Get someone else to rev the engine and have a look at the upward movement, obviuosly there is some but there should not be much as there is not a huge amount of clearence between engine and bonnet risking damaging the MAF etc
  10. GPC for cheaper genuine parts - 01582 728892, BOSCH dealers as half the car is made by them and... Ford dealers (cheaper VR6 bits)

    sensor?

Daz, have a look at this and give the switch bypass a try.... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4566
  12. Doh - Just bought a Blue LED kit for my Technics SL-1200mk2 deck from UltraLeds... didn't think of getting any car bits too! Good company tho - Highly recomended and very fast delivery!
  13. I don't think they'll fit as the new cars are considerably wider than old ones - the new Polo is actually bigger than the mk2 golf
  14. I think Amazon.ca is the cheapest place at the moment - just over £50 inc postage and I don't think there should be any customs probs as books are vat free
  15. I think we will get dvd headunits quite cheaply soon - imagine the amount of MP3 albums you could fit on a 4.7gb disc!
  16. I said hydraulic that because of the pedal not returning ie losing pressure, so maybe it was the slave cyl that cuased it... (how does the pedal feel now after the new slave - does it return better and more positively??) Like Henny says as its not enging at all now, mabe the release bearing got jammed or the fork bent as a result of the slave going and the car being driven - were you having to really push / jam it into gear???
  17. Maybe central locking pump?? not sure whats on the passenger side?

    windscreen

If it is a crack, it will get bigger, especially with the freezing weather at the moment - doesn't your insurance have a £50 windscreen excess?
  19. Just buy it from the VAG dealer, then you know your getting the right stuff
  20. Def sounds like hydrolic prob - losing pressure, check the master and slave again, bleed the slave and check for leaks
  21. Looking on the bright side.... He can now get a proper car!
  22. Oh, I don't know... I got my G60 back from Jabba this morning, looks alot different than before.... have to see what its like when back on the car!
