    Made a start on sorting the engine. The last major job before the final re-assembly ready for next year.

    All back together with all new clips and new wiper arm caps. Also re-plated the wiper linkage arm

    Scuttle painted, was going to start re-assembly but think I’ll take the wiper assembly off now for cleaning

    How easy is it to remove the wiper mechanism and motor please? I’m sorting these 3 trim pieces now so would remove the motor and mechanism if it’s easy enough.

    Got the 2 screws and washers from LLL parts. hoping the new screws and clips hold it all In place properly

    Im sure they must have. Was a bit of a twitchy moment pulling them off but all ok. think it’s 11 of the clips 👍

    They are still available and so are the little inserts. Bought them and new screws that fit at the ends too. yes seems to be one forward two backwards 🤣

    Got the trim pieces off and they have been stuck on with sealant. I’ve managed to scrape the sealant off but it’s damaged the paint so looks like this now needs flatting down and spraying. why is nothing simple and one job leads to multiple others 😁

    Another job well done 👌 can’t believe you now have this on the road. I’ve followed the thread for years and didn’t think it was going to happen. looking forward to seeing it next year at some point 👍

    I reckon those are gone and lost. Some seem to remain though which is strange.

    I had the rears and fronts made Alex (volksworld13) but I had to supply the genuine pipe and unions to him. he didn’t want to make the front to rear pipes for me so I found someone on eBay that made pipes. I sent him the original lines as a template along with the green pipe, 3 x m10 unions and 1 x m12 unions. I sorted delivery and collection from the guy on eBay. I opted for genuine unions for originality but these are about £5 each (20 in total 😬).

    To move through the pages I have to hold my finger on the next page button an it opens the next page in a different window but closes the one I’m on (if that makes sense?)

    I’ll look into the Wurth stuff thanks. mine are bonded on so dreading taking them off.

    I am trying to keep it as original as I can so need to stick with the 3 piece trims. the clips and inserts that fasten the trims are available from VW Classic parts now so bought those. I’ve also bought new genuine metal clips that fasten the fronts of the trims. unfortunately the 3 pieces aren’t available new so going to try and get mine back to the black finish.

    Facebook is useful for parts and seeing what people are doing on their cars however, it lacks the facility for a build thread with all the pics etc in one place like the forum has. Here you can go on somebody’s build thread and go through from the start to finish.

    Next job on the list, sort the 3 trims under the windscreen as they are damaged and faded. Got a new drivers side piece to replace the damaged one and got all new clips and inserts so no more sealant to hold them in place.

    Cars looking really tidy there Matt. Bet you glad you kept the Audioscapes 👌 How much difference do the Cams make? Think I have some lined up for mine but interested to know what the extra power feels like.
